Individuals with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) are at high risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Repetitive photic stimulation (PS) is commonly used in routine electroencephalogram (EEG) examinations for rapid assessment of perceptual functioning. This study aimed to evaluate neural oscillatory responses and nonlinear brain dynamics under the effects of PS in patients with mild AD, moderate AD, severe AD, and MCI, as well as healthy elderly controls (HC). EEG power ratios during PS were estimated as an index of oscillatory responses. Multiscale sample entropy (MSE) was estimated as an index of brain dynamics before, during, and after PS. During PS, EEG harmonic responses were lower and MSE values were higher in the AD subgroups than in HC and MCI groups. PS-induced changes in EEG complexity were less pronounced in the AD subgroups than in HC and MCI groups. Brain dynamics revealed a “transitional change” between MCI and Mild AD. Our findings suggest a deficiency in brain adaptability in AD patients, which hinders their ability to adapt to repetitive perceptual stimulation. This study highlights the importance of combining spectral and nonlinear dynamical analysis when seeking to unravel perceptual functioning and brain adaptability in the various stages of neurodegenerative diseases.  相似文献

A new cloud point extraction (CPE) method for ergotamine analysis using fluorimetric detection is described. Ergotamine from an aqueous solution was preconcentrated into a smaller surfactant-rich phase using nonionic surfactant polyoxyethylene(7.5)nonylphenylether (PONPE 7.5). Differently from the conventional CPE procedure in which the resulting surfactant-rich phase is diluted by a fluidificant before its analysis, in this method the fluorescence measurements were carried out directly onto the undiluted surfactant-rich phase. The high viscosity provided by the undiluted surfactant rich phase greatly improved the fluorescence emission of ergotamine, leading to a total enhancement factor of 1325. This spectral advantage plus the preconcentration factor achieved, contributed to the method sensitivity allowing the ergotamine determination at trace level concentration. Under optimal experimental conditions, a linear calibration curve was obtained from 3.81 × 10−7 to 1.10 μg mL−1, with detection and quantification limits of 0.11 and 0.38 pg mL−1, respectively. The accuracy and versatility of the present methodology were proved by analyzing ergotamine in real samples of different natures such as pharmaceuticals, urine and saliva.  相似文献

A new series of luminescent platinum(II) azolate complexes with a formula of [Pt(NwedgeN)(2)], in which NwedgeN = mppz (1), bppz (2a), bzpz (2b), bmpz (2c), bqpz (2d), fppz (3a), hppz (3b), bptz (4), hptz (5), were synthesized, and their photophyscial properties were examined. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies of 2c and 3b revealed a planar molecular geometry, in which the NwedgeN chelates adopt a trans configuration and show notable interligand C-H...N hydrogen bonding within the complex. Interesting intermolecular interactions were observed in the solid state. Complex 2c formed a slipped-stack structure with a Pt...Pt separation distance of 6.432 Angstroms, while complex 3b showed a columnar stacking with the molecules oriented in an alternating order in relation to the chain axis, giving a much reduced Pt...Pt distance of 3.442 Angstroms. The lowest absorption band for all complexes revealed strong state mixings between the singlet and triplet (MLCT and intraligand pipi) manifolds. Complexes 1 and 2 showed mixed (3)MLCT and (3)pipi phosphorescence in fluid solution. While radiationless deactivation was apparently dominant for complexes 3-5 in solution, resulting in rather weak emission, strong phosphorescence was observed in the room-temperature solid state with the peak wavelength being significantly red shifted compared to that in solution. The emission nature has been tentatively assigned to be (3)MMLCT in character. OLED devices with a multilayer configuration of ITO/NPB/CBP:2a/BCP/Alq(3)/LiF/Al were successfully fabricated using a CBP layer doped with various amount of 2a, ranging from 6 to 100%, as the emitting layer. A substantial red shift with increasing doping concentrations was observed in electroluminescence. With a neat film of 2a, the device showed a green emission with lambda(max) at 556 nm and an external QE of approximately 1.6% at a driving current of 20 mA. Similarly, for the device using a neat film of 3a, an electroluminescence centered at 616 nm with a slightly reduced external QE of approximately 2.1% was recorded. Aggregation of platinum(II) complexes in the solid state was proposed to account for the large red-shift in electroluminescence.  相似文献

The edge emission from 850 nm vertical-cavity surface emitting lasers has a much larger linewidth and a larger redshift coefficient than the surface emission. These differences explain why the threshold current increased asymmetrically when temperature deviated from the temperature associated with the lowest threshold current. The gradient of the edge intensity–current (LI) curve declined when current exceeded the threshold value. This decline indicates the competition between stimulated emission and other mechanisms for recombining carriers. Thus, the optimal lasing power can be derived from the edge LI curve, and the deviation from the measured value is the sum of unwanted optical loss.  相似文献

The [Co/Pt]n/Nb/[Co/Pt]n hybrids with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy reveal enhanced superconductivity with the presence, and the arrangements, of domain walls, where superconductivity persists. An in-plane field can manipulate the domain walls from labyrinth to stripe patterns and drive the hybrids from normal to superconducting. We observe anisotropic superconductivity in hybrids with stripe domains, along which enhanced superconductivity is realized.  相似文献

Polyaniline nanowires (PANI NWs) were deposited onto fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) glass substrate using the cyclic voltammetric method with aniline monomer precursor in HCl aqueous solution. The secondary oxidation peak plays an important role in polymerization of aniline monomer and the optimization of catalytic activity of PANI-based counter electrodes was achieved by controlling the number of cycles. The photovoltaic performance of the dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) with PANI NWs counter electrodes (CEs) was optimized at 4th cycles, and then following parameters were obtained: Jsc = 17.2 mA cm−2, Voc = 0.71 V, FF = 59.3%, and efficiency (η) = 7.24%. While, Jsc = 14.7 mA cm−2, Voc = 0.77 V, FF = 70.6%, and efficiency (η) = 7.98% in cells with Pt CEs. The PANI NWs were attractive as an alternative CEs for the low-cost DSSCs instead of Pt.  相似文献

Stack effects on smoke propagation in subway stations   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4  
In fires of subway stations, the most immediate threat to passengers' life is not the direct exposure to fire, but the smoke inhalation because it contains hot air and toxic gases. To understand the mechanisms driving the motion of smoke is therefore an important issue of fire safety, and the stack effect is found to be an important mechanism having significant influence. In this paper, we compute the three-dimensional smoke flow fields under various fires happened in a representative subway station of Taipei Rapid Transit System. To clarify the mechanisms corresponding to the stack effect, a simplified three-dimensional configuration is also considered. Results indicate that, without mechanical smoke control, the stack effect plays a decisive role and is virtually the sole factor influencing the smoke movement. Because of the stack effect, most or sometimes all of the smoke will choose a vertical shaft (usually a stairwell) to evacuate, and the cross sectional area of the shaft and the location of fire determine which shaft is chosen. Present computational results show the evidences of the importance of the stack effect and provide both valuable information to the design of the passenger evacuation routes in fires as well as criteria to the design of smoke control systems of subway stations.Received: 16 January 2003, Accepted: 10 March 2003, Published online: 12 September 2003  相似文献

This paper presents a curvilinear boundary quadrilateral element for the problem of thin plate of bending with curvilinear boundary. A coordinate transformation of two dimensions is performed in the calculation of FEM. The introduction of an additional stiffness matrix based on the generalized variational principles results in high accuracy and less computation time. It was proved by Hell and Zhu that, if G is a series‐parallel graph of girth at least 2⌊(3k − 1)/2⌋, then χc(G) ≤ 4k/(2k − 1). Four cobalt‐catalyzed oxidative annulation reactions of nitrogen‐containing arenes with alkynes proceeds by C?H activation, thus leading to biologically useful quaternary ammonium salts, including pyridoisoquinolinium, cinnolinium, isoquinolinium, and quinolizinium salts, in high yields. The results are comparable to those reactions catalyzed by rhodium and ruthenium complexes. The transformation of the salts into various N‐heterocycles has also been demonstrated.  相似文献
