A technique is described for the measurement of all components of mean velocity and Reynolds stresses, in a complex turbulent flow where achieving coincidence data acquisition is difficult. The method is based on data recorded using four orientations of the laser probe. It is shown that the measurement errors are not the same for all the components of the Reynolds tensor, but they are sufficiently small to give a good accuracy. An application to a turbomachinery flow is given to illustrate the method. 相似文献

A novel super-hydrophobic stearic acid (STA) film with a water contact angle of 166o was prepared by chemical adsorption on aluminum wafer coated with polyethyleneimine (PEI) film. The micro-tribological behavior
of the super-hydrophobic STA monolayer was compared with that of the polished and PEI-coated Al surfaces. The effect of relative
humidity on the adhesion and friction was investigated as well. It was found that the STA monolayer showed decreased friction,
while the adhesive force was greatly decreased by increasing the surface roughness of the Al wafer to reduce the contact area
between the atomic force microscope (AFM) tip and the sample surface to be tested. Thus the friction and adhesion of the Al
wafer was effectively decreased by generating the STA monolayer, which indicated that it could be feasible and rational to
prepare a surface with good adhesion resistance and lubricity by properly controlling the surface morphology and the chemical
composition. Both the adhesion and friction decreased as the relative humidity was lowered from 65% to 10%, though the decrease
extent became insignificant for the STA monolayer.

We carried out detailed calculations for photorefractive wave-mixing switches based on one of three crystals with high electro-optic coefficients, namely, BaTiO3, Strontium Barium Niobate (SBN (0.75)), and Potasium Sodium Strontium Barium Niobate (KNSBN). A comparison of results for the three crystals shows that a 0_-cut BaTiO3 crystal is suitable for a longitudinal switch and requires a voltage of about 80 for a 2-mm-thick crystal to induce sufficient phase mismatch. The electrodes must be transparent for the incident and diffracted beams. A 45_-cut SBN (0.75) crystal, however, is suitable for a lateral switch and requires a voltage of about 150 for a 1-mm-wide crystal. The electrodes do not need to be transparent. 相似文献

We measured the entire region of mesopic and photopic vision to determine the color zone covering the visual field with unique red, yellow, green, and blue hue components. Eight kinds of test stimuli in the natural color system (NCS) color notation system were used. These stimuli were presented at horizontal and vertical meridians, and at meridians inclined at 45° angles. The illuminance level was set at six levels: 0.01 lx-1000 lx. The evaluation method measured chromatic, white, and black components as well as the hue component of the stimuli. Results show that the color zone of the retina extended further into the periphery with increasing illuminance; the response of opponent colors y-b was shown to be greater than that of the opponent colors r-g. 相似文献

A new optical technique based on real time holographic interferometry in true colors has been implemented around the transonic
wind tunnel of the ONERA-Lille center to analyze 2D unsteady wake flows. Tests realized in color interferometry, real time
and double exposure, use simultaneously three wavelengths of a continuous waves laser (argon and krypton mixed) and holograms
are recorded on silver-halide single-layer panchromatic Slavich PFG03c plates. The very principle of real-time true color
holographic interferometry uses three primary wavelengths (red, green and blue) to record, under no-flow conditions, the interference
among the three measurement beams and the three reference beams simultaneously on a single reference hologram. After the holographic
plate is developed, it is placed on the test setup again in the position it occupied during exposure and the hologram is illuminated
again by the three reference beams and three measurement beams. A flat, uniform color can then be observed behind the hologram.
So a horizontal, vertical, or even circular fringe pattern can be formed and the achromatic central fringe can be made out
very clearly. The single color is used to determine the path difference zero on the interferograms. The flow studied was the
unsteady flow downstream of a cylinder placed crosswise in the test section. A sequence of hundred interferograms was recorded
on the flow around the cylinder at Mach 0.37. The vortex formation and dissipation phases can be seen very clearly, along

Well‐defined diblock and triblock copolymers composed of poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) and poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) were successfully synthesized through the reversible addition–fragmentation chain transfer polymerization of N‐isopropylacrylamide (NIPAM) with PEO capped with one or two dithiobenzoyl groups as a macrotransfer agent. 1H NMR, Fourier transform infrared, and gel permeation chromatography instruments were used to characterize the block copolymers obtained. The results showed that the diblock and triblock copolymers had well‐defined structures and narrow molecular weight distributions (weight‐average molecular weight/number‐average molecular weight < 1.2), and the molecular weight of the PNIPAM block in the diblock and triblock copolymers could be controlled by the initial molar ratio of NIPAM to dithiobenzoate‐terminated PEO and the NIPAM conversion. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Montmorillonite (MMT) was modified with the acidified cocamidopropyl betaine (CAB) and the resulting organo‐montmorillonite (O‐MMT) was dispersed in an epoxy/methyl tetrahydrophthalic anhydride system to form epoxy nanocomposites. The intercalation and exfoliation behavior of the epoxy nanocomposites were examined by X‐ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy. The curing behavior and thermal property were investigated by in situ Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and DSC, respectively. The results showed that MMT could be highly intercalated by acidified CAB, and O‐MMT could be easily dispersed in epoxy resin to form intercalated/exfoliated epoxy nanocomposites. When the O‐MMT loading was lower than 8 phr (relative to 100 phr resin), exfoliated nanocomposites were achieved. The glass‐transition temperatures (Tg's) of the exfoliated nanocomposite were 20 °C higher than that of the neat resin. At higher O‐MMT loading, partial exfoliation was achieved, and those samples possessed moderately higher Tg's as compared with the neat resin. O‐MMT showed an obviously catalytic nature toward the curing of epoxy resin. The curing rate of the epoxy compound increased with O‐MMT loading. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A Nafion-modified glassy carbon electrode incorporated with tobramycin for the voltammetric stripping determination of Cu2+ has been explored. The electrode was fabricated by tobramycin containing Nafion on the glassy carbon electrode surface. The modified electrode exhibited a significantly increased sensitivity and selectivity for Cu2+ compared with a bare glassy carbon electrode and the Nafion modified electrode. Cu2+ was accumulated in HAc-NaAc buffer (pH 4.6) at a potential of -0.6 V (vs. SCE) for 300 s and then determined by differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry. The effects of various parameters, such as the mass of Nafion, the concentration of tobramycin, the pH of the medium, the accumulation potential, the accumulation time and the scan rate, were investigated. Under the optimum conditions, a linear calibration graph was obtained in the concentration range of 1.0 x 10(-9) to 5.0 x 10(-7) mol l(-1) with a correlation coefficient of 0.9971. The relative standard deviations for eight successive determinations were 4.3 and 2.9% for 1.0 x 10(-8) and 2.0 x 10(-7) mol l(-1) Cu2+, respectively. The detection limit (three times signal to noise) was 5.0 x 10(-10) mol l(-1). A study of interfering substances was also performed, and the method was applied to the direct determination of copper in water samples, and also in analytical reagent-grade salts with satisfactory results. 相似文献

Fluorescent-based single-strand conformation polymorphism (F-SSCP) analysis with capillary electrophoresis (CE) is the most common method for the detection of mutation because of its high sensitivity and resolution. In this study, we prepared an inexpensive linear polyacrylamide (LPA), and successfully applied it to CE-SSCP analysis and tandem CE-SSCP/heteroduplex analysis (HA) of the P53 gene on an ABI capillary genetic analyzer. A comparison of the sieving capabilities of a homemade LPA and commercial polydimethylacrylamide (PDMA) demonstrates that the homemade LPA has a higher resolution, a shorter analysis time, and is more suitable for tandem SSCP/HA than commercial PDMA. To show the usefulness, mutations of P53 gene exon 7 - 8 in 37 tumor samples were investigated by using homemade LPA. The results indicate that 10 mutations were found in 9 of 37 cases; the majority of P53 mutations were missense mutations, and 70% were located in exon 7, which plays an important role in neoplastic progression in human tumorigenesis. 相似文献
