Photoabsorption spectra are calculated for the magic number clusters, (CdSe)(3) and (CdSe)(6), using an all-electron mixed basis GW scheme with the excitonic effect incorporated by solving the Bethe-Salpeter equation (BSE). The GW+BSE calculation provided clear size dependence of the optical gap as expected, while magnitude of the gap is overestimated compared to available experimental one. The gap is found very similarly overestimated when using the local density approximation (LDA) within the density functional theory because accidental error cancellation occurs between the significantly underestimated LDA gap and the excitonic effect neglected therein. The excitonic states are described by superposition of many one-particle states that would not be properly described within a one-particle theory, as clearly visualized in the plot of the exciton wavefunctions.  相似文献

Single-step DNA detection: a microfluidic electrochemical loop mediated isothermal amplification platform is reported for rapid, sensitive, and quantitative detection of pathogen genomic DNA at the point of care. DNA amplification was electrochemically monitored in real time within a monolithic microfluidic device, thus enabling the detection of as few as 16 copies of Salmonella genomic DNA through a single-step process in less than an hour.  相似文献

A process methodology has been adopted to bond GaN thin films to Si(100) substrates using the combination of laser lift-off and direct wafer fusion. Using optimum excimer laser conditions, 2–10 μm of GaN is lifted-off from sapphire. The lifted-off thin film is cleared from gallium residual and then suitably treated in a hydrofluoric, nitric and acetic acid mixture to render the surface hydrophilic. This treatment provides van der Waals bonds to immediately contact bond with SiO2–Si(100) substrate at room temperature. The bonds are further strengthened by a high temperature annealing at 650 C for 2 h. The structural and mechanical characteristics of the bonded structure reveal uniform and high quality bonding. The optical characteristics of the transferred bonded film on SiO2–Si(100) substrate exhibit similar properties to that of GaN on sapphire. In a similar manner, high-brightness blue LEDs were transferred from sapphire to SiO2–Si(100) substrate with no deterioration in the electrical and optical performance of the device.  相似文献

We investigated photon emissions of various bio-samples which were induced by ultrasonic stimulation. It has been reported that ultrasonic stimulations induced the thermal excitation of the bio-tissues. After ultrasonic stimulation, any measurement of photon radiation in the visible spectral range has not been carried out yet. The instruments consisted of electronic devices for an ultrasonic generator of the frequency 3 MHz and a photomultiplier tube (PMT) system counting photons from bio-tissues. The transplanted tumor tissues of mice were prepared for the experiments and their liver and spleen tissues were also used for the controls. It was found that the continuous ultrasonic stimulations with the electrical power 2300 mW induced ultraweak photon emissions from the tumor tissues. The number of induced photon was dependent of the type of the tissues and the stimulation time intervals. The level of photon emission was increased from the mouse tumor exposed to the ultrasonic stimulations, and the changes were discriminated from those of the spleens and livers.  相似文献

Thallium (Tl) is a rare element and one of the most harmful metals. This study validated an analytical method for determining Tl in foods by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) based on food matrices and calories. For six representative foods, the method’s correlation coefficient (R2) was above 0.999, and the method limit of detection (MLOD) was 0.0070–0.0498 μg kg−1, with accuracy ranging from 82.06% to 119.81% and precision within 10%. We investigated 304 various foods in the South Korean market, including agricultural, fishery, livestock, and processed foods. Tl above the MLOD level was detected in 148 samples and was less than 10 μg kg−1 in 98% of the samples. Comparing the Tl concentrations among food groups revealed that fisheries and animal products had higher Tl contents than cereals and vegetables. Tl exposure via food intake did not exceed the health guidance level.  相似文献

In this study, human meniscus tissue of normal origin in young adults and in patients with early and late stages of osteoarthritic degeneration were analyzed for their thermoanalytical properties with differential scanning calorimetry. Degenerative changes of knee menisci frequently result from trauma to the joint or are associated with joint diseases. Meniscus damage may play an important role in osteoarthritis pathophysiology. The purpose was to further characterize the altered metabolism in matrix composition during different stages of meniscus degeneration that promotes disease progression. The human knee joint menisectomy specimens were received after surgical removal. The calorimetric properties of samples were determined by DSC method, samples were heated from 0 to 80 °C. The heating rate was 0.3 °C min?1. Conventional Hastelloy batch vessels were used with 40 μL sample volume. Change in the enthalpy was observed in normal cartilage as 1632.48 J g?1 (SD = 50.55). In case of early degeneration a greater change at 1707.83 J g?1 (SD = 112.46), while in the severely degenerated samples at 1677.30 J g?1 (SD = 182.48) was measured. This method proved to be suitable for compositional thermoanalytical study of normal and degenerative human meniscus samples. All samples that were extracted for this study were obtained during live surgeries. With the rise of temperature an endothermic reaction was observed in all cases. The enthalpy change of the process initiated by the temperature change showed difference between the normal and pathological groups.  相似文献
