The available data on the forward charge exchange of nucleons on the deuteron up to 2 GeV/nucleon are reviewed. The value
of the inclusive nd → pnn/np → pn cross section ratio is sensitive to the fraction of spin-independent neutron-proton backward scattering. The measurements
of the polarisation transfer in d(n, p){nn} or the deuteron analysing power in p{d, {pp})n in high-resolution experiments, where the final nn or pp pair emerge at low excitation energy, depend upon the longitudinal and transverse spin-spin up amplitudes. The relation between
these types of experiments is discussed and the results compared with predictions of the impulse approximation model in order

The total cross-section for the dd $ \rightarrow$ 4HeK + K - reaction has been measured at a beam momentum of 3.7GeV/c, corresponding to an excess energy of 39MeV, which is the maximum possible at the Cooler Synchrotron COSY-Jülich. A deuterium cluster-jet target and the ANKE forward magnetic spectrometer, placed inside the storage ring, have been employed in this investigation. We find a total cross-section of $ \sigma_{{{\rm tot}}}^{}$ < 14 pb, which brings into question the viability of investigating the dd $ \rightarrow$ 4Hea 0(980) reaction as a means of studying isospin violation. 相似文献

This paper studies both the conductance and charge transport on 2D orbifolds in a strong magnetic field. We consider a family of Landau Hamiltonians on a complex, compact 2D orbifold Y that are parametrised by the Jacobian torus J(Y) of Y. We calculate the degree of the associated stable holomorphic spectral orbibundles when the magnetic field B is large and obtain fractional quantum numbers as the conductance and a refined analysis also gives the charge transport. A key tool studied here is a nontrivial generalisation of the Nahm transform to 2D orbifolds.

The differential and total cross sections for the dp--> 3Heeta reaction have been measured in a high precision high statistics COSY-ANKE experiment near threshold using a continuous beam energy ramp up to an excess energy Q of 11.3 MeV with essentially 100% acceptance. The kinematics allowed the mean value of Q to be determined to about 9 keV. Evidence is found for the effects of higher partial waves for Q >or= 4 MeV. The very rapid rise of the total cross section to its maximum value within 0.5 MeV of threshold implies a very large eta3He scattering length and hence the presence of a quasibound state extremely close to threshold. 相似文献

The ratio of forward K+ production on copper, silver and gold targets to that on carbon has been measured at proton beam energies between 1.5 and 2.3 GeV as a function of the kaon momentum pK using the ANKE spectrometer at COSY-Jülich. The strong suppression in the ratios observed for pK<200–250 MeV/c may be ascribed to a combination of Coulomb and nuclear repulsion in the K+A system. This opens a new way to investigate the interaction of K+-mesons in the nuclear medium. Our data are consistent with a K+A nuclear potential of VK0≈20 MeV at low kaon momenta and normal nuclear density. Given the sensitivity of the data to the kaon potential, the current experimental precision might allow one to determine VK0 to better than 3 MeV. 相似文献
