The drawbacks of large, general tape sorting programs are pointed out, and a sorting subroutine is suggested as a remedy. The fundamental idea is the separation of the logic in tape sorting from the actual manipulation of external tape units by introduction of the concept of an elementary sorting loop. Examples show how common problems in sorting can be solved using the sorting loop concept. A few considerations in the design and implementation of a sorting subroutine are mentioned, and finally a measure of the efficiency of tape sorting methods is proposed. 相似文献

Using the adaptive time-dependent density-matrix renormalization group method, we study the time evolution of strongly correlated spinless fermions on a one-dimensional lattice after a sudden change of the interaction strength. For certain parameter values, two different initial states (e.g., metallic and insulating) lead to observables which become indistinguishable after relaxation. We find that the resulting quasistationary state is nonthermal. This result holds for both integrable and nonintegrable variants of the system. 相似文献

An experimental desorption study of Triton X-100 from latices with different functionality is presented. Two different strategies to follow the desorption experiment have been used: first, a discontinuous method based on the wash step (centrifugation-removal-redispersion); and second, a continuous method based on the replacement of the disperse media. The desorption results show that in all cases a residual amount of Triton X-100 remains adsorbed, indicating irreversibility of the surfactant adsorption. AbstractA series of sulfated 1,6-anhydro-4-O-(β-D-glucopyranosyluronate)-β-D-glucopyranose derivatives 7 and 9-13 with different degrees of charge was synthesized from a common disaccharide precursor 1,6-anhydro-2-azido-2-deoxy-4-O-(methyl2,3-di-O-benzyl-β-D-glucopyransyl-uronate-β-D-glucopyranose (5). For the 1,6-anhydro-β-D-glucopyranose moiety of this compound a boat-chair equilibrium is found, the boat conformation being stabilized by an intramolecular hydrogen bridge. The typically weak cross-sections characteristic of Raman processes has historically limited their use in atmospheric remote sensing to nighttime application. However, with advances in instrumentation and techniques, it is now possible to apply Raman lidar to the monitoring of atmospheric water vapor, aerosols and clouds throughout the diurnal cycle. Upper tropospheric and lower stratospheric measurements of water vapor using Raman lidar are also possible but are limited to nighttime and require long integration times. However, boundary layer studies of water vapor variability can now be performed with high temporal and spatial resolution. This paper will review the current state-of-the-art of Raman lidar for high-resolution measurements of the atmospheric water vapor, aerosol and cloud fields. In particular, we describe the use of Raman lidar for mapping the vertical distribution and variability of atmospheric water vapor, aerosols and clouds throughout the evolution of dynamic meteorological events. The ability of Raman lidar to detect and characterize water in the region of the tropopause and the importance of high-altitude water vapor for climate-related studies and meteorological satellite performance are discussed. 相似文献
