Dark reactions featuring continuous activity under light off conditions play a critical role in natural photosynthesis. However, most artificial photocatalysts are inactive upon the removal of the light source, and the artificial photocatalysts with dark photocatalysis abilities have been rarely explored. Herein, we report a Ti-based metal–organic framework (MOF), MIL-125, exhibiting the capability of dark photocatalytic hydrogen production. Remarkably, the introduction of different functional groups onto the linkers enables distinctly different activities of the resulting MOFs (MIL-125-X, X = NH2, NO2, Br). Dynamic and thermodynamic investigations indicate that the production and lifetime of the Ti3+ intermediate are the key factors, due to the electron-donating/-withdrawing effect of the functional groups. As far as we know, this is the first report on dark photocatalysis over MOFs, providing new insights into the storage of irradiation energy and demonstrating their great potential in dark photocatalysis due to the great MOF diversity.A Ti-based MOF with long-lived Ti3+ can achieve dark photocatalysis. The different groups on the organic linker modulate electron storage ability and the lifetime of Ti3+, significantly regulating dark photocatalytic activity in H2 production. 相似文献

We propose a $\theta$-$L$ approach for solving a sharp-interface model about simulating solid-state dewetting of thin films with isotropic/weakly anisotropic surface energies. The sharp-interface model is governed by surface diffusion and contact line migration. For solving the model, traditional numerical methods usually suffer from the severe stability constraint and/or the mesh distribution trouble. In the $\theta$-$L$ approach, we introduce a useful tangential velocity along the evolving interface and utilize a new set of variables (i.e., the tangential angle $\theta$ and the total length $L$ of the interface curve), so that it not only could reduce the stiffness resulted from the surface tension, but also could ensure the mesh equidistribution property during the evolution. Furthermore, it can achieve second-order accuracy when implemented by a semi-implicit linear finite element method. A series of ruthenium carbene catalysts containing 2‐sulfidophenolate bidentate ligand with an ortho‐substituent next to the oxygen atom were synthesized. The molecular structure of ruthenium carbene complex containing 2‐isopropyl‐6‐sulfidophenolate ligand was confirmed through single crystal X‐ray diffraction. An oxygen atom can be found in the opposite position of the N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) based on the steric hindrance and strong trans‐effects of the NHC ligand. The ruthenium carbene catalyst can catalyze ring‐opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) reaction of norbornene with high activity and Z‐selectivity and cross metathesis (CM) reactions of terminal alkenes with (Z)‐but‐2‐ene‐1,4‐diol to give Z‐olefin products (Z/E ratios, 70:30–89:11) in low yields (13%–38%). When AlCl3 was added into the CM reactions, yields (51%–88%) were considerably improved and process becomes highly selective for E‐olefin products (E/Z ratios, 79:21–96:4).
