Low-temperature flames such as cool flames, warm flames, double flames, and auto-ignition assisted flames play a critical role in the performance of advanced engines and fuel design. In this paper, an overview of the recent progresses in understanding low-temperature flames and dynamics as well as their impacts on combustion, advanced engines, and fuel development will be presented. Specifically, at first, a brief review of the history of cool flames is made. Then, the recent experimental studies and computational modeling of the flame structures, dynamics, and burning limits of non-premixed and premixed cool flames, warm flames, and double flames are presented. The flammability limit diagram and the temperature-dependent chain-branching reaction pathways, respectively, for hot, warm, and cool flames at elevated temperature and pressure will be discussed and analyzed. After that, the effect of low temperature auto-ignition of auto-igniting mixtures at high ignition Damköhler numbers at engine conditions on the propagation of cool flames, warm flames, and double flames as well as turbulent flames will be discussed. Finally, a new platform using low temperature flames for the development and validation of chemical kinetic models of alternative fuels will be presented. Discussions of future research of the dynamics and control of low temperature flames under engine conditions will be made. 相似文献

Measurement-based quantum computation in an optical setup shows great promise towards the implementation oflarge-scale quantum computation. The difficulty of measurement-based quantum computation lies in the preparation ofcluster state. In this paper, we propose the method of generating the large-scale cluster state, which is a platform formeasurement-based quantum computation. We analytically and numerically study the local dynamical characteristics of the Bessel beams reflected from an airglass interface near the Brewster angle.A Taylor series expansion based on the angular spectrum component is applied to correct the reflection coefficients near the Brewster angle.Using a hybrid angular spectrum representation and vector potential method,the explicit expressions for the electric and magnetic field components of the reflected Bessel beams are derived analytically under paraxial approximation.The local energy,momentum,spin,and orbital angular momentum of the Bessel beams upon reflection near the Brewster angle are examined numerically by utilizing a canonical approach.Numerical simulation results show that the properties of these dynamical quantities for the Bessel beams near Brewster angle incidence change abruptly,and are significantly affected by their topological charge,half-cone angle,and polarization state.The present study has its importance in understanding the dynamical aspects of optical beams with vortex structure and diffraction-free nature during the reflection process. 相似文献

We present a simple but effective method for small-angle measurement based on optical feedback interferometry (or laser self-mixing interferometry). The absolute zero angle can be defined at the biggest fringe amplitude point, so this method can also achieve absolute angle measurement. In order to verify the method, we construct an angle measurement system. The Fourier-transform method is used to analysis the interference signal. We have demonstrated the synthesis of one-dimensional (1D) structures of bismuth oxide (Bi2O3) by a reaction of a trimethylbismuth (TMBi) and oxygen (O2) mixture at 450 °C. Scanning electron microscopy showed that the product consisted of 1D materials with width or diameters less than 1 μm and lengths up to several tens of micrometers. The X-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy revealed that the materials contained elements of Bi and O. The results of X-ray diffraction and selected area electron diffraction pattern indicated that the obtained Bi2O3 were crystalline with monoclinic structure. 相似文献

In this paper, we presented experimental results concerning on the laser characteristics of two microchip lasers emitting
in the 2 μm range, Tm:Ho:YVO4 microchip laser and Tm:Ho:GdVO4 microchip laser. At a heat sink temperature of 283 K, the maximum output power of Tm:Ho:YVO4 laser and Tm:Ho:GdVO4 laser is 47 and 34 mW under absorbed pump power of 912 mW, respectively. High efficiency can be achieved for both lasers
at room temperature. Nevertheless, compared with Tm:Ho:GdVO4 laser, Tm:Ho:YVO4 laser can operate on single frequency with high power easily. At the heat sink temperature of 288 K, as much as 16.5 mW of
