Nowadays, sustainable materials are receiving significant attention due to the fact that they will be crucial for the development of the next generation of products and devices. In the present work, hydrogels have been successfully synthesized using lignin which is non-valorized biopolymer from the paper industry. Hydrogels were prepared via crosslinking with Poly(ethylene) glycol diglycidyl ether (PEGDGE). Different crosslinker ratios were used to determine their influence on the structural and chemical properties of the resulting hydrogels. It has been found that pore size was reduced by increasing crosslinker amount. The greater crosslinking density increased the swelling capacity of the hydrogels due to the presence of more hydrophilic groups in the hydrogel network. Paracetamol release test showed higher drug diffusion for hydrogels produced with a ratio lignin:PEGDGE 1:1. The obtained results demonstrate that the proposed approach is a promising route to utilize lignocellulose waste for producing porous materials for advanced biomedical applications in the pharmacy industry.  相似文献

A selection of pyrene-based liquid crystal dimers have been prepared, containing either methylene-ether or diether linked spacers of varying length and parity. All the diether linked materials, CBOnO.Py (n=5, 6, 11, 12), exhibit conventional nematic and smectic A phases, with the exception of CBO11O.Py which is exclusively nematic. The methylene-ether linked dimer, CBnO.Py, with an even-membered spacer (n=5) was solely nematogenic, but odd-members (n=6, 8, 10) exhibited both nematic and twist-bend nematic phases. Replacement of the cyanobiphenyl fragment by cyanoterphenyl giving CT6O.Py, gave elevated melting and nematic-isotropic transition temperatures, and SmA and SmCA phases were observed on cooling the nematic phase. Intermolecular face-to-face associations of the pyrene moieties drive glass formation, and all these materials have a glass transition temperature at or above room temperature. The stability of the glassy twist-bend nematic phase allowed for its study using AFM, and the helical pitch length, PTB, was measured as 6.3 and 6.7 nm for CB6O.Py and CB8O.Py, respectively. These values are comparable to the shortest pitch of a twist-bend nematic phase measured to date.  相似文献

A new form of charged particle energy analyser is proposed. It is broadly based on the 180° magnetic spectrograph, but is intended to detect charged particles moving out of the dispersion plane with a helical motion. The analyser has the capability to acquire charged particle energy spectra over a large energy range, similar to those acquired in Auger electron spectroscopy, ca. 2500 eV and large angular range, up to 90°, in parallel. These conditions are more favourable for surface analysis by electron spectroscopy at high vacuum, where for example an electron energy resolution of 0.2% to 0.5% is typical. Expressions showing how the landing positions of the charged particles on the detector vary as a function of energy and polar take off angle are determined as well as the conditions for optimum energy resolution at a range of polar take off angles. The equations reveal that in general, the device obtains the highest resolution at angles of revolution greater than 180°. The design is simple and could be easily put into practice using available material and technologies and be used to analyse the energies of electrons emitted from a sample placed in a scanning electron microscope. It can be made to function with a primary electron beam of any desired energy and could fit in to the small space between the sample and the end of an electron column. However, the device is difficult to retrofit into existing SEMs and ideally an SEM column needs to be designed to work in association with the analyser. The direction of the magnetic field of the analyser is coincident with the axis of the electron gun so that the primary beam is little influenced by the magnetic field and symmetry can be maintained in the primary beam electron column. Because the device is intended to acquire electron spectra in parallel, any movement of the primary beam on the sample because of a ramping field in the analyser is avoided. The field of view and the effect of the analyser upon the operation of the SEM are discussed. Spectra including elastic and Auger peaks reveal an energy resolution of ~4 eV at 900‐eV electron energy. A fundamental flow problem of unsteady wind-up of a spanwise vortex is studied in this theoretical work on deepening dynamic stall and transition in a boundary layer, internal layer or related unsteady motion. It examines the nonlinear evolution of the spanwise vortex produced when the local wall pressure develops a maximum or minimum, subsequent to the finite-time break-up of an interacting layer and the impact of normal pressure gradients. The evolution is controlled by an inner–outer interaction between the effects of the normal pressure gradient and the momentum jumps across and outside the vortex, which is situated near the strong inflexion point induced in the mean flow. Although the work concentrates on a particular internal-flow context, many of the flow properties found are generic and in particular apply for a more general case including external flows. Analysis and associated computations point to two main distinct trends in the vortex response, depending to a large extent on a parameter gauging the relative strengths of the above effects. The response is either an explosive one, provoking enhanced wind-up, growth and pressure in the vortex, or it is implosive, causing the vortex to shrink and virtually empty itself through unwinding, leaving little local pressure variation. A further discussion includes the after-effects of this vortex response and some of the connections with experiments and direct computations on deepening stall and transition. The Arithmetic Fourier Transform is an algorithm for the computation of Fourier coefficients. In this paper it is extended to the computation of double Fourier coefficients by a repeated sum. Given a quasi-projective complex variety X and a projective variety Y, one may endow the set of morphisms, Mor(X, Y), from X to Y with the natural structure of a topological space. We introduce a convenient technique (namely, the notion of a functor on the category of 'smooth curves') for studying these function complexes and for forming continuous pairings of such. Building on this technique, we establish several results, including (1) the existence of cap and join product pairings in topological cycle theory; (2) the agreement of cup product and intersection product for topological cycle theory; (3) the agreement of the motivic cohomology cup product with morphic cohomology cup product; and (4) the Whitney sum formula for the Chern classes in morphic cohomology of vector bundles.  相似文献
