Iodine catalyzed solvent-free cross-dehydrogenative coupling of arylamines and H-phosphonates for the synthesis of N-arylphosphoramidates under atmospheric conditions

Aerobic oxidative coupling of various arylamines and H-phosphonates to the corresponding N-arylphosphoramidates has been achieved under solvent-free conditions using molecular iodine. This protocol works at room temperature furnishing the corresponding P–N coupling products in moderate to high yields.

Oligomerization of vinylic compounds on montmorillonite clay catalysts

Among the various solid acid catalysts used for oligomerisation, Montmorillonite K10 and filtrol clays are found to convert -methylstyrene and -phenylstyrene smoothly into indane derivatives in solvent-free liquid phase. However, in the presence of solvents like isoamylene, pentane and dichloromethane -methyl styrene reacts to give a linear dimer and trimer in different proportion.IPCL Communication No:265     

Addition of 1,4 - diphenyl - 1 - azabutadiene to allenic esters

Reactions of 1,4-diphenyl-1-azabutadiene with allenic esters (1,2) in refluxing benzene furnish the respective cyclohexenone derivatives (3,4) as major products, and presumably proceed via azetidines (B).
