We discuss the propagation of a short laser pulse in an auto- ionizing (AI) medium with degenerate double Fano model. By solving numerically the coupled equations for atoms and fields we show that by the proper choice of Fano parameters involved in the problem (contrary to the case considered in (E. Paspalakis, N. J. Kylstra, and P. L. Knight, Phys. Rev. A60 (1999)) we have now two Fano asymmetry parameters) one can eliminate almost completely the absorption in the pulse propagation. It means that we have the transparency in the medium. From the connection between population trapping in short pulsed laser field and transparency in the propagation of the laser pulse which has been fixed by Paspalakis et al., Phys. Rev. A60 (1999) we conclude that this proper choice leads to the presence of the population trapping (or the existence of the “dark” states) in the atomic system. Moreover, instead of one value of the laser detuning for which the dark states exist in the case of one AI level, we find numerically two such values in the case of two AI levels.  相似文献

It has been recently demonstrated that carbon nanotubes (CNTs) represent a new type of chemical sensor capable of detecting a small concentration of molecules such as CO, NO2, NH3.In this work, CNTs were synthesized by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) on the SiO2/Si substrate by decomposition of acetylene (C2H2) on sputtered Ni catalyst nanoparticles. Their structural properties are studied by atomic force microscopy, high-resolution scanning electron microscopy (HRSEM) and Raman spectroscopy. The CNTs grown at 700 °C exhibit a low dispersion in size, are about 1 μm long and their average diameter varies in the range 25–60 nm as a function of the deposition time. We have shown that their diameter can be reduced either by annealing in oxygen environment or by growing at lower temperature (less than 600 °C).We developed a test device with interdigital Pt electrodes on an Al2O3 substrate in order to evaluate the CNTs-based gas sensor capabilities. We performed room temperature current–voltage measurements for various gas concentrations. The CNT films are found to exhibit a fast response and a high sensitivity to NH3 gas.  相似文献

Barium ferrite (BaFe12O19) thin films have been deposited by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) on Si substrates with MgO underlayers. The films were deposited in oxygen atmosphere by excimer laser (=248 nm, pulse duration=23 ns) in the temperature range 750–900 °C. The experiments showed that the substrate temperature has remarkable effect on the films magnetic and structural properties. The BaFe12O19 films deposited at 900 °C in 200 mTorr oxygen showed some perpendicular orientation, with a perpendicular squareness of 0.5 and an in-plane squareness of 0.3. Such thin BaFe12O19 films have platelet grains with a size of about 300 nm. The perpendicular saturation magnetization and coercivity are 185 emu/cm3 and 1.4 kOe, respectively. We have observed magnetic anisotropy in bulk Nd55−xCoxFe30Al10B5 (x=10, 15 and 20) alloys prepared by copper mold suction casting method with a presence of external magnetic field (quenching field) μ0H=0.25 T. By changing direction of the measuring field from perpendicular to parallel one in comparison with that of the quenching field, coercive force of the alloys slightly decreases while remanent magnetization and squareness of hysteresis loop increase more clearly. It is also found that the higher Co-concentration in the alloys the larger magnetic anisotropy is induced. The structure analyses manifest nanocrystalline particles embedded in residual amorphous matrix of the alloys. The size of the particles is in range of 10-30 nm and their crystalline phases consist of Nd2(Fe,Co)14B, Nd3Co, Nd3Al, NdAl2 and Nd.  相似文献

This article describes the roadside traffic noise surveys conducted in heavily built-up urban areas in Hong Kong. Noise measurements were carried out along 18 major roads in 1999. The measurement data included L10, L50, L90, Leq, Lmax, the number of light vehicles, the number of heavy vehicles, the total traffic flow, and the average speed of vehicles. Statistical analysis using the analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Tukey test (p<0.05) reveals that the total traffic flow and the number of heavy vehicles are the most significant factors of urban traffic noise. Multiple regression was used to derive a set of empirical formulas for predicting L10 noise level due to road traffic. The accuracy of these empirical formulas is quantified and compared to that of another widely used prediction model in Hong Kong--the Calculation of Road Traffic Noise. The applicability of the selected multiple regression model is validated by the noise measurements performed in the winter of 2000.  相似文献

The current-voltage relationships of deposited structures are measured for cluster structures consisting of nanoparticles of lead telluride. Variation in the value of the tunnel current is shown. Optimum conditions for the possible emergence of quantum-hopping conductivity due to carrier tunneling (the characteristic sizes of the nanoclusters and the distances between them) are determined.  相似文献

We develop a microscopic pedestrian-simulation model in which pedestrian positions are updated at discrete time steps. At each time step, each pedestrian probabilistically selects a direction of movement from a predetermined set according to a logit-type function that considers the dynamics of other pedestrians around, and then selects a step size that satisfies a certain distribution. We perform a number of field experiments on real intersecting pedestrian flows with four different angles. We then validate and calibrate the model using sample data on the deviation angles, step velocities, and velocity–density relations obtained from the experiments.  相似文献

Matching the impedance of a medium to free space, which is usually not available in natural materials, is an important advance in metamaterials. In this paper, we present a simple mechanism for a perfect impedance-matched left-handed metamaterials, that reveals a nearly zero reflection over operating frequency. This finding is based on the independent manipulation of the electric response without any effect on the magnetic one.  相似文献
