The isomerisation of n-butene into isobutene has been studied over a ferrierite catalyst being in a selective state (aged catalyst) or non-selective state (fresh catalyst). It is observed, by using 13C=C---C---C, that a bimolecular process operates on the non-selective catalyst whereas a monomolecular process exists on the selective catalyst.  相似文献

In this paper mathematical expressions have been developed to describe the hydrodynamic resistance force on a colloidal particle as it slides along a slip surface of a gas bubble held stationary in a quiescent liquid. The particle size was considered to be sufficiently small relative to the bubble size so that the bubble surface could be locally approximated to a planar interface. The modeling incorporated a bispherical coordinate transformation to solve the equations governing the liquid creeping flow disturbed by the particle. Exact numerical solutions for the resistance coefficients of the particle-shearing motion parallel to the slip bubble surface were obtained as a function of the separation distance from the bubble surface. Finally, simplified analytical rational approximations for the whole range of the separation distance were presented, which were in good agreement with the exact numerical result. Importantly, the approximations for the modeling and simulation of the bubble-particle interactions are mathematically tractable.  相似文献

A new acid indicator pad was developed for the detection of acid breakthrough of gloves and chemical protective clothing. The pad carries a reagent which responds to acid contaminant by producing a color change. The pad was used to detect both organic and inorganic acids permeating through glove materials using the modified ASTM F-739 and direct permeability testing procedures. Breakthrough times for each type of glove were determined, and found to range from 4 min to > 4 h for propionic acid, from 3 min to > 4 h for acrylic acid, and from 26 min to > 4 h for HCl. A quantification was performed for propionic and acrylic acids following solvent desorption and gas chromatography. Both acids exhibited > 99% adsorption [the acid and its reactivity (the acid reacted with an indicator to contribute the color change)] on the pads at a spiking level of 1.8 microL for each acid. Acid recovery during quantification was calculated for each acid, ranging from 52-72% (RSD < or = 4.0%) for both acids over the spiking range 0.2-1.8 microL. The quantitative mass of the acids on the pads at the time of breakthrough detection ranged from 260-282 and 270-296 microg cm(-2) for propionic acid and acrylic acid, respectively. The new colorimetric indicator pad should be useful in detecting and collecting acid permeation samples through gloves and chemical protective clothing in both laboratory and field studies, for quantitative analysis.  相似文献

Self-crosslinkable poly(arylene ether)s 6 , and 8 , containing pendent triazene groups were prepared by nucleophilic substitution reaction of poly(arylene ether)s 5 , and 7 , respectively, with 1-[4-(4-hydroxyphenoxy)phenylene]triazenes, 4 , in the presence of potassium carbonate in N,N-dimethylacetamide. A series of triazenes 4 containing various substituents have been synthesized. Self-crosslinkable polymer 6e containing phenyl-substituted triazene pendants can be crosslinked at 215°C, which is about 40°C lower than the glass transition temperature of the virgin base polymer 5 . The degree of crosslinking can be tailored by varying the concentration of the pendent phenylenetriazene groups in the polymer. After curing, the flexible polymer films (ca. 10 μm thick) exhibit high gel contents, increased glass transition temperatures, improved resistance to organic solvents, and little change in dielectric constant and thermal stability. These self-crosslinkable poly(arylene ether)s are potential candidates for electronic applications. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

In the accompanying paper, it has been suggested that, in a cycloaddition, the first σ bond to be formed is that corresponding to the greatest overlap stabilization. This rule has now been tested, successfully on over one hundred 2+2 cycloadditions.Comparisons of our method with other theoretical treatments are made and the reasons for the discrepancies pointed out.The choice of parameters (for Hückel calculations) or molecular geometries (for CNDO/2 calculations) is discussed. No particular advantage of CNDO/2 calculations over Hückel calculations has been observed.  相似文献

The structural and interfacial properties of self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) on gold derived from the adsorption of a series of 1,1,1-tris(mercaptomethyl)alkanes (i.e., CH3(CH2)mC[CH2SH]3, where m = 9, 11, 13, 15) were investigated. The new SAMs, which possess uniformly low densities of alkyl chains, were characterized by ellipsometry, contact angle goniometry, and polarization modulation infrared reflection absorption spectroscopy. Additional analysis of the SAMs by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy permitted a direct calculation of the packing densities of the SAMs on gold. The results as a whole, when compared to those obtained on SAMs generated from normal alkanethiols (CH3(CH2)m+2SH), 2-alkylpropane-1,3-dithiols (CH3(CH2)mCH[CH2SH]2), and 2-alkyl-2-methylpropane-1,3-dithiols (CH3(CH2)mC(CH3)[CH2SH]2) having analogous chain lengths, demonstrate that the 1,1,1-tris(mercaptomethyl)alkanes afford SAMs with alkyl chains having the lowest packing density and least conformational order.  相似文献

An artificial neural network (ANN) was employed to model the chromatographic response surface for the linear gradient separation of 10 herbicides that are commonly detected in storm run-off water in agricultural catchments. The herbicides (dicamba, simazine, 2,4-D, MCPA, triclopyr, atrazine, diuron, clomazone, bensulfuron-methyl and metolachlor) were separated using reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography and detected with a photodiode array detector. The ANN was trained using the pH of the mobile phase and the slope of the acetonitrile/water gradient as input variables. A total of nine experiments were required to generate sufficient data to train the ANN to accurately describe the retention times of each of the herbicides within a defined experimental space of mobile phase pH range 3.0-4.8 and linear gradient slope 1-4% acetonitrile/min. The modelled chromatographic response surface was then used to determine the optimum separation within the experimental space. This approach allowed the rapid determination of experimental conditions for baseline resolution of all 10 herbicides. Illustrative examples of determination of these components in Milli-Q water, Sydney mains water and natural water samples spiked at 0.5-1 μg/L are shown. Recoveries were over 70% for solid-phase extraction using Waters Oasis® HLB 6 cm3 cartridges.  相似文献

The determination of diuron, atrazine, desisopropylatrazine (DIA) and desethylatrazine (DEA) were investigated using conductometric tyrosinase biosensor. Tyrosinase was immobilised on the biosensor sensitive part by allowing it to mix with bovine serum albumin (BSA) and then cross-linking in saturated glutaraldehyde (GA) vapour for 30 min. The determination of pollutants in a solution was performed by comparison of the output signal (i.e percentage of the enzymatic activity) of the biosensor before and after contact with pollutants. The measurement of the enzymatic activity was performed using 4-chlorophenol, phenol and catechol substrates and response times ranging from 1 to 5 min were observed. A 4-chlorophenol substrate was used to detect pesticides. A 30 min contact time of the biosensor in the pollutant solution was used. Under the experimental conditions employed, detection limits for diuron and atrazine were about 1 ppb and dynamic range of 2.3-2330 and 2.15-2150 ppb were obtained for diuron and atrazine, respectively. A relative standard deviation (n=3) of the output signal was estimated to be 5% and a slight drift of 1.5 μS h−1 was observed. The 90% of the enzyme activity was still maintained after 23 days of storage in a buffer solution at 4 °C.  相似文献

Continuing our work toward a system mimicking the electron-transfer steps from manganese to P(680)(+) in photosystem II (PS II), we report a series of ruthenium(II)-manganese(II) complexes that display intramolecular electron transfer from manganese(II) to photooxidized ruthenium(III). The electron-transfer rate constant (k(ET)) values span a large range, 1 x 10(5)-2 x 10(7) s(-1), and we have investigated different factors that are responsible for the variation. The reorganization energies determined experimentally (lambda = 1.5-2.0 eV) are larger than expected for solvent reorganization in complexes of similar size in polar solvents (typically lambda approximately 1.0 eV). This result indicates that the inner reorganization energy is relatively large and, consequently, that at moderate driving force values manganese complexes are not fast donors. Both the type of manganese ligand and the link between the two metals are shown to be of great importance to the electron-transfer rate. In contrast, we show that the quenching of the excited state of the ruthenium(II) moiety by manganese(II) in this series of complexes mainly depends on the distance between the metals. However, by synthetically modifying the sensitizer so that the lowest metal-to-ligand charge transfer state was localized on the nonbridging ruthenium(II) ligands, we could reduce the quenching rate constant in one complex by a factor of 700 without changing the bridging ligand. Still, the manganese(II)-ruthenium(III) electron-transfer rate constant was not reduced. Consequently, the modification resulted in a complex with very favorable properties.  相似文献

In this paper, glucose is potentiometrically measured by using a specific field effect transistor, the EMOSFET. In this device, glucose oxidase is immobilized within a bovine serum albumin matrix, using glutaraldehyde. This layer is deposited on the top of an electroactive Os-polyvinylpyridine layer containing horseradish peroxidase, which is used as the gate material of the FET. The basic principle of the sensor is to measure the glucose concentration by means of measuring the change in the work function of the electroactive gate due to its redox reaction with the H2O2, generated by the reaction between glucose and glucose oxidase. The change in the work function can be detected as a change in the threshold voltage of the FET. Moreover, a measuring mode called "constant current potentiometry" has been applied to improve the sensitivity of the sensor. The sensitivity of the sensor working in this mode is found to be much higher than the Nernstian value. The experimental results show that the detection limit of the sensor can be tuned depending on the value of the applied current and the glucose oxidase concentration in the gate.  相似文献
