Parallel hybrid extragradient methods for pseudomonotone equilibrium problems and nonexpansive mappings

In this paper we propose and analyze three parallel hybrid extragradient methods for finding a common element of the set of solutions of equilibrium problems involving pseudomonotone bifunctions and the set of fixed points of nonexpansive mappings in a real Hilbert space. Based on parallel computation we can reduce the overall computational effort under widely used conditions on the bifunctions and the nonexpansive mappings. A simple numerical example is given to illustrate the proposed parallel algorithms.     

Higher-order optimality conditions for set-valued optimization with ordering cones having empty interior using variational sets

In this paper, we first establish chain rules and sum rules for variational sets of type 2. For their applications, optimality conditions of two particular optimization problems are discussed. Then, we obtain higher-order optimality conditions for proper Henig solutions of a set-valued optimization problem in terms of variational sets of type 2 when ordering cones have empty interior.     

On relaxations of contraction constants and Caristi’s theorem in <Emphasis Type="Italic">b</Emphasis>-metric spaces

In this paper, the following facts are stated in the setting of b-metric spaces.

   The contraction constant in the Banach contraction principle fully extends to [0, 1), but the contraction constants in Reich’s fixed point theorem and many other fixed point theorems do not fully extend to [0, 1), which answers the early stated question on transforming fixed point theorems in metric spaces to fixed point theorems in b-metric spaces.

   Caristi’s theorem does not fully extend to b-metric spaces, which is a negative answer to a recent Kirk–Shahzad’s question (Remark 12.6) [Fixed Point Theory in Distance Spaces. Springer, 2014].
