The encapsulation of the complex [Ni(dto)(2)](2-) within an oxothiododecamolybdic cyclic cluster has been investigated. The resulting molybdenum ring, [Mo(12)O(12)S(12)(OH)(12)(Ni(dto)(2))](2-), corresponds to the first example of the {Mo(2)O(2)S(2)}-based assembly arranged around a 3d transition-metal complex. It was unambiguously characterized in the solid state and in solution by FT-IR spectroscopy, single-crystal X-ray diffraction, NMR, UV-visible spectroscopy, and electrospray ionization-high-resolution mass spectrometry (ESI-HRMS). The latter technique revealed to be a powerful tool for the characterization of templated molybdenum ring systems in solution and gave excellent results in high resolution. The electronic spectrum of [Mo(12)O(12)S(12)(OH)(12)(Ni(dto)(2))](2-) evidenced a strong red shift of the LMCT bands attributed to the complex [Ni(dto)(2)](2-), suggesting significant variations of the electronic properties upon its encapsulation within the Mo(12) ring. These differences were demonstrated by electrochemical studies in CH(3)CN, which also revealed, for both compounds [Ni(dto)(2)](2-) and [Mo(12)O(12)S(12)(OH)(12)(Ni(dto)(2))](2-), electrocatalytic properties for the reduction of protons. These results evidence the ability of dithioxalato complexes to act as electrocatalysts for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and confirm such a property for oxothiomolybdenum rings.  相似文献

A combined theoretical and experimental approach has been employed to characterize the hydrido-cobaloxime [HCo(dmgH)(2)(PnBu(3))] compound. This complex was originally investigated by Schrauzer et al. [Schrauzer et al., J. Am. Chem. Soc. 1971, 93,1505] and has since been referred to as a key, stable analogue of the hydride intermediate involved in hydrogen evolution catalyzed by cobaloxime compounds [Artero, V. et al. Angew. Chem., Int. Ed. 2011, 50, 7238-7266]. We employed quantum chemical calculations, using density functional theory and correlated RI-SCS-MP2 methods, to characterize the structural and electronic properties of the compound and observed important differences between the calculated (1)H NMR spectrum and that reported in the original study by Schrauzer and Holland. To calibrate the theoretical model, the stable hydrido tetraamine cobalt(III) complex [HCo(tmen)(2)(OH(2))](2+) (tmen = 2,3-dimethyl-butane-2,3-diamine) [Rahman, A. F. M. M. et al. Chem. Commun. 2003, 2748-2749] was subjected to a similar analysis, and, in this case, the calculated results agreed well with those obtained experimentally. As a follow-up to the computational work, the title hydrido-cobaloxime compound was synthesized and recharacterized experimentally, together with the Co(I) derivative, giving results that were in agreement with the theoretical predictions.  相似文献

ROMP and retro-acyclic diene metathesis (ADMET) were used for the synthesis of new functional polymers and functional oligomers, respectively. Purely exo and enantiomerically pure norbornene and 7-oxanorbornene derivatives were prepared using stereospecific synthesis, effective fractionation and high yield condensation reactions. Successful ROMPs of those monomers were performed using either the new carbenic Schrock’s or Grubb’s catalysts or in some cases a classical bicomponent catalyst. New functional polymers such as optically active poly(norbornene-2-carboxylic acid), reactive poly(norbornene-2-azlactone), and side-chain liquid crystal polyoxanorbornenes were fully characterized. On the other hand, successful depolymerizations of 1,4-polyisoprene and of epoxidized 1,4-polybutadiene via cross-metathesis with 4-octene were performed using a stabilized bicomponent catalyst and the Grubb’s catalyst, respectively. Conditions for the controlled synthesis of epoxidized oligobutadienes and of epoxydienic monomers via retro-ADMET were clearly defined.  相似文献

Molecules capable of complementary hydrogen bonding were used to control the noncovalent self-assembly and electronic properties of a chemically well-defined surface mesostructure. In this work, we patterned a footprint region for molecular assembly on a surface and used moieties featuring complementary recognition to tune the current-voltage properties of the patterned region. With the appropriate functionalities on the complementary moieties, we were able to increase and decrease the observed conductance in surface-bound mesoscale structures imaged by scanning tunneling microscopy (STM).  相似文献

The scarcity of structural information on carbohydrates results from combined difficulties to crystallize and the limitations in NMR analysis. Current methods for determining basic NMR parameters such as (1)H homonuclear scalar couplings are very limited, especially for large molecules such as polysaccharides, oligonucleotides, and the carbohydrate part of glycoproteins. In this paper, a NMR experiment for the determination of endocyclic (1)H homonuclear scalar couplings ((3)J(HH)) in unlabeled carbohydrates is presented. In addition to scalar couplings, cross-correlated dipole-dipole relaxation rates were measured for large polysaccharides. The measurement of all endocyclic homonuclear coupling constants within monosaccharide units is presented for lactose, a model disaccharide, and for a natural-abundance 2 MDa bacterial polysaccharide excreted by Streptococcus thermophilus Sfi39.  相似文献
