Extraction of technetium(vii) by calix[4]arene tetraketones and tetraesters from acidic and basic media

Tetrasubstituted on the lower rim calix[4]arenes, containing carbonyl and ester groups, and existing in a cone conformation are selective and efficient extracting agents for Tc^VII extraction from both acidic and basic solutions.     

4-(8-quinolylazo)resorcinol and 1-(8-quinolylazo)-2-naphthol: Synthesis and sorption properties

A methodology of the synthesis of 4-(8-quinolylazo)resorcinol (QAR) and 1-(8-quinolylazo)-2-naphthol (QAN) was developed. The synthesized compounds were used to modify an oxidized charcoal sorbent. The sorbent efficiently adsorbs copper(II) and zinc(II) cations to form surface electroneutral chelate complexes. The conditions of sorption and desorption of zinc(II) and copper(II) were studied.     

Reactions of 1,5-diketones

Two-ring 1,5-diketones of the benzylidenedicyclohexanone type are capable of existing in equilibrium with 4a-hydroxy-1,2,3,4,4a,5,6,7,8,9a-decahydroxanthenes, the position of which depends on the structure of the 1,5-diketone.     

Surface modification of polypropylene materials by the cobalt complex of 5,10,15,20-tetrakis-(4-methylpyridyl)porphyrin tetratosylate

The process of immobilization of cobalt(II) 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-methylpyridyl)porphyrin tetratosylate on chemically activated surface of polypropylene materials was studied using infrared spectroscopy of multiple frustrated total internal reflection, electron spectroscopy, and atomic force microscopy. The modified materials were shown to have a sorption activity with respect to nitrogen bases, the structural analogs of blood toxines.     

Creatinine sorbents based on nonwoven polymeric materials modified with tetra(4-tert-butyl)phthalocyanine and zinc complex

The experimental results, which show the possibility of immobilization of tetra(4-tert-butyl)phthalocyanine complex and its zinc complex on the surface of nonwoven polypropylene and lavsan materials. The alkali etching method was used for activation of the polypropylene surface. It was shown that the modified polymeric materials possess sorption activity relative to creatinine.
