A study of the structure of the dioxiane lignins of the cotton plant of variety 108-F by proton magnetic resonance

Analysis of the PMR spectra of acetylated dioxane lignins of the cotton plant collected in various vegetation periods have shown that the DLAs have different degrees of substitution of the C₃ side chain and different degrees of condensation through the aromatic nuclei. With an increase in the time of extraction of the dioxane lignins from the plant, condensation of the lignins isolated takes place. Mechanism of structural dielectric relaxation in associated liquids

A mechanism of structural dielectric relaxation is proposed, and on this basis the kinetic equations taking into account tunneling of protons from the clusters are written and investigated. Cyclotron resonance of holes in silicon in quantizing magnetic fields

The cyclotron resonance spectra of holes in bulk silicon in quantizing magnetic fields are investigated in the low-temperature range. The data obtained agree well with the results of the numerical calculation performed earlier by Owner-Petersen and Samuelsen for effective cyclotron masses m*/m₀ and matrix elements M upon transitions between different Landau levels of holes in silicon with a magnetic-field orientation H ∥ [001].     

Peripheral waves generated in a cylindrical shell with hemispherical endcaps by a plane acoustic wave at axial incidence

The recently proposed approach [B. Dubus, A. Lavie, N.D. Veksler, J. Acoust. Soc. Am. 102 (1997) 3523-3529] of resonance order determination is applied to a steady-state problem of acoustic wave scattering by a cylindrical shell with hemispherical endcaps. In the intermediate frequency range, the main contribution in the form function is brought by two peripheral waves: zero-order symmetric Lamb-type wave S₀ and water-borne bending-type A wave. The resonance frequencies of these waves are found and the dispersion curves of the phase velocities computed. The influence of the relative length of the cylindrical part of the shell on the characteristics of peripheral waves is discussed.
