This paper presents an analytical and numerical study of natural convection of nanofluids contained in a rectangular enclosure
subject to uniform heat flux along the vertical sides. Governing parameters of the problem under study are the thermal Rayleigh
number Ra, the Prandtl number Pr, the aspect ratio of the cavity A and the solid volume fraction of nanoparticles, Φ. Three types of nanoparticles are taken into consideration: Cu, Al2O3 and TiO2. Various models are used for calculating the effective viscosity and thermal conductivity of nanofluids. In the first part
of the analytical study, a scale analysis is made for the boundary layer regime situation. In the second part, an analytical
solution based on the parallel flow approximation is reported for tall enclosures (A ≫ 1). In the boundary layer regime a good agreement is obtained between the predictions of the scale analysis and those of
the analytical solution. Solutions for the flow fields, temperature distributions and Nusselt numbers are obtained explicitly
in terms of the governing parameters of the problem. A numerical study of the same phenomenon, obtained by solving the complete
system of the governing equations, is also conducted. A good agreement is found between the analytical predictions and the

Using the finite element method (FEM), we investigate the existence of absolute band gaps and localized modes associated with a guide in thin films of phononic crystals. Two different structures based on two-dimensional (2D) phononic crystals are considered, namely a free standing plate and a plate deposited on a silicon substrate. The 2D phononic crystal is constituted by a square array of cylindrical holes drilled in an active piezoelectric PZT5A matrix. We demonstrate the existence of absolute band gap in the band structure of the phononic crystal plate and, then, the possibility of guided modes inside a linear defect created by removing one row of air holes. In the case of the supported plate, we show the existence of an absolute forbidden band in the plate modes when the thickness of the substrate significantly exceeds the plate thickness. 相似文献

We develop a theory based on relative entropy to show the uniqueness and L 2 stability (up to a translation) of extremal entropic Rankine?CHugoniot discontinuities for systems of conservation laws (typically 1-shocks, n-shocks, 1-contact discontinuities and n-contact discontinuities of large amplitude) among bounded entropic weak solutions having an additional trace property. The existence of a convex entropy is needed. No BV estimate is needed on the weak solutions considered. The theory holds without smallness conditions. The assumptions are quite general.
