We establish criteria for the positivity of the top Lyapunov exponent of a nonautonomous dynamics in terms of invariant cone families, both for maps and flows. The families of cones are associated with quadratic forms of type (k,p−k)(k,pk) with k arbitrary. Our work can be seen as a counterpart of results in the context of ergodic theory, where the positivity of the top Lyapunov exponent is obtained for almost all trajectories although saying nothing about each specific trajectory.  相似文献

We consider linear equations v=A(t)v with a polynomial asymptotic behavior, that can be stable, unstable and central. We show that this behavior is exhibited by a large class of differential equations, by giving necessary and sufficient conditions in terms of generalized “polynomial” Lyapunov exponents for the existence of polynomial behavior. In particular, any linear equation in block form in a finite-dimensional space, with three blocks having “polynomial” Lyapunov exponents respectively negative, positive, and zero, has a nonuniform version of polynomial trichotomy, which corresponds to the usual notion of trichotomy but now with polynomial growth rates. We also obtain sharp bounds for the constants in the notion of polynomial trichotomy. In addition, we establish the persistence under sufficiently small nonlinear perturbations of the stability of a nonuniform polynomial contraction.  相似文献

We study the relation between the notions of nonuniform exponential stability and admissibility. In particular, using appropriate adapted norms (which can be seen as Lyapunov norms), we show that if any of their associated Lp spaces, with p∈(1,∞], is admissible for a given evolution process, then this process is a nonuniform exponential contraction. For a linear cocycle with discrete time, we give a complete characterization of nonuniform exponential trichotomies in terms of strict Lyapunov sequences. We also obtain inverse theorems by constructing explicitly strict Lyapunov sequences for each nonuniform exponential trichotomy. These are constructed in terms of Lyapunov norms, with respect to which the nonuniform behavior of the trichotomies becomes uniform. We study the persistence of the asymptotic stability of delay equations both under linear and nonlinear perturbations. Namely, we consider nonautonomous linear delay equations v′ = L(t)v t with a nonuniform exponential contraction. Our main objective is to establish the persistence of the nonuniform exponential stability of the zero solution both under nonautonomous linear perturbations, i.e., for the equation v′ = (L(t) + M(t))v t , thus discussing the so-called robustness problem, and under a large class of nonlinear perturbations, namely for the equation v′ = L(t)v t + f(t, v t ). In addition, we consider general contractions e λρ(t) determined by an increasing function ρ that includes the usual exponential behavior with ρ(t) = t as a very special case. In this paper, we study a new class of quadratic systems and classify all its phase portraits.More precisely, we characterize the class of all quadratic polynomial differential systems in the plane having a complex ellipse x~2+ y~2+ 1 = 0 as invariant algebraic curve. We study the Hindmarsh–Rose burster which can be described by the differential system = y-x~3+ bx~2+ I-z,  = 1-5 x2~-y, z = μ(s(x-x_0)-z),where b, I, μ, s, x_0 are parameters. We characterize all its invariant algebraic surfaces and all its exponential factors for all values of the parameters. We also characterize its Darboux integrability in function of the parameters. These characterizations allow to study the global dynamics of the system when such invariant algebraic surfaces exist.  相似文献
