Once the Cinderella amongst the Platinum Group Metals at the Photochemistry Ball, iridium has become of intense interest since the beginning of the decade. Complexes of iridium(III) can be prepared that are highly luminescent, with emission wavelengths tuneable over the whole of the visible region. Whilst most studies have focused on tris-bidentate complexes, a rich and varied chemistry is also possible using tridentate ligands. In this review, we discuss the synthesis and excited-state properties of such complexes, exploring in particular how the number of cyclometallating carbon atoms in the coordination sphere of the metal ion influences the luminescence. Moving from [IrN6]3+ to [IrN3X3] coordination via [IrN5X]2+ and cis/trans-[IrN4X2]+ complexes, where N is a heterocyclic nitrogen and X is an anionic ligand or cyclometallated carbon, a whole range of luminescence efficiencies are encountered, ranging from the barely detectable to room temperature quantum yields approaching unity. We consider the extent to which these profound differences, arising as a result of subtle changes in molecular structure, can be rationalised in terms of the nature of the frontier orbitals.  相似文献

Phosphatidylglycerols are components of biological membranes. The phase behavior of these phospholipids was extensively investigated. However, there is still no definite picture about the dependence of the ionization state and monolayer structure on subphase composition. The major problem of previous investigations is that none of the methods used allow obtaining the ionization degree directly. In the present work we apply techniques developed in the past decades for Langmuir monolayers: infrared reflection absorption spectroscopy (IRRAS) as well as X-ray diffraction and reflectivity techniques, which provide straightforward information about structure and ionization state of a L-1,2-dipalmitoylphosphatidylglycerol (DPPG) monolayer. The Gouy-Chapman model is applied to evaluate the intrinsic pKa. Therewith, the ionization degree can be determined even at low pH values. The experimental titration curves are in good agreement with theoretical curves based on the Gouy-Chapman model. The obtained instrinic pKa amounts to 1. The ionization degree of a DPPG monolayer is independent of the monovalent cation size. In contrast, the structure of a DPPG monolayer is strongly affected by the type of divalent cations.  相似文献

[reaction: see text] The 3,3',4'4'-tetranitrodibenzocrown ethers TNDB24C8 and TNDB30C10 form organogels with chloroalkanes at 3% w/v. Atomic force microscopy and scanning electron microscopy have been used to characterize the superstructure of the gels. Gels prepared using TNDB30C10 and CHCl(3) are more fibrous and are ordered into elongated domains attributable to exposed parts of intermingled fibers. Differential scanning calorimetry shows that the gel aids in the formation of supercooled CHCl(3) (DeltaT = 21 K, DeltaH(av) = 19.0 +/- 1.5 kJ mol(-)(1)) and that the gel liquefies at 307 K.  相似文献

Axially localized NaF dopants are coated onto Al cylindrical wire arrays in order to act as spectroscopic tracers in the stagnated z-pinch plasma. Non-local-thermodynamic-equilibrium kinetic models fit to Na K-shell lines provide an independent measurement of the density and temperature that is consistent with spectroscopic analysis of K-shell emissions from Al and an alloyed Mg dopant. Axial transport of the Na dopant is observed, enabling quantitative study of instabilities in dense z-pinch plasmas.  相似文献

We report a surprisingly long spin relaxation time of electrons in Mn-doped p-GaAs. The spin relaxation time scales with the optical pumping and increases from 12 ns in the dark to 160 ns upon saturation. This behavior is associated with the difference in spin relaxation rates of electrons precessing in the fluctuating fields of ionized or neutral Mn acceptors, respectively. For the latter, the antiferromagnetic exchange interaction between a Mn ion and a bound hole results in a partial compensation of these fluctuating fields, leading to the enhanced spin memory.  相似文献

The anticancer effect of thiacarpine, a synthetic analogue of the known cytotoxic alkaloid polycarpine isolated from the Pacific ascidian Polycarpa aurata, was investigated in vivo in experiments using mouse solid Ehrlich carcinoma tumor as the target. A high-resolution magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technique using a MR tomograph "PharmaScan" US70/16 (Bruker, Ettlingen, Germany) was used for visualization and quantification of tumor size. Fluorescence microscopy and image analysis were applied to determine Ehrlich carcinoma cell chromatin condensing (apoptosis) and necrosis in Ehrlich carcinoma cells at the action of thiacarpine in in vitro experiments. The scan and size calculations of the tumor and some mouse organs were carried out during the experiments. Thiacarpine in a total dose of 100 mg/kg was found to exhibit the delay in growth of the mouse tumor. The antineoplastic effect of this compound was accompanied by an increase in the lifetime of experimental mice in comparison with the control group of animals. Our data show that the ability of thiacarpine to induce apoptosis in carcinoma cells may contribute to thiacarpine anticancer effects against mice solid Ehrlich carcinoma in vivo detected by MRI.  相似文献

FTIR and FT-Raman spectra of four generations of phosphorus-containing dendrons with terminal aldehyde or PCl groups have been recorded and analyzed. Their spectral patterns are determined by the ratio T/R (T, the number of terminal groups; R, the number of repeated units). Bands assigned to the core, repeated units and terminal groups were separated by the difference spectroscopy method. The optimized geometry, frequencies and intensity of IR bands of G(1v) generation dendron with terminal aldehyde groups were obtained by the density functional theory (DFT). It was found that the internal skeleton of molecules exists in a single stable conformation with planar O-C(6)H(4)-CHN-N(CH(3))-P(S) fragments, but terminal groups may adopt the t,g,g- and t,-g,g-rotational isomers. The t,-g,g-conformer is 0.74 kcal/mol less stable compared to the t,g,g-conformer. The bond length and bond angles obtained by DFT show the best agreement with experimental data. Relying on DFT calculations a complete assignment of vibrations is proposed for different parts of the studied dendrons. The calculated frequencies and intensity of IR bands of the t,g,g- and t,-g,g-conformers of G(1v) are found to be in reasonable agreement with the experimental results. The most reactive site in dendron is the core function and vinyl group is preferred for nucleophilic attack. In dendrimer the most reactive are the terminal groups.  相似文献

The crude extract of the Brazilian brown alga Dictyota crenulata was analyzed by NMR spectroscopy and HRGC-MS techniques. Seven diterpenes were identified: pachydictyol A, dictyodial, 4beta-hydroxydictyodial A, 4beta-acetoxydictyodial A, isopachydictyol A, dictyol C and dictyotadiol. Xeniane diterpenes have previously been found in D. crenulata from the Pacific Ocean. The results characterize D. crenulata as a species that provides prenylated guaiane (group I) and xeniane diterpenes (group III), thus making it a new source of potential antiviral products.  相似文献
