Catalytic properties of iron tetracarbonyl π-complexes of vinylsilanes in the addition of polyhalomethanes and hydrosilanes to vinylsilanes

Untersuchungen an Systemen aus Salzen und gemischten Lösungsmitteln. VI. Das Verhalten des reziproken Salzpaares Na2SO4 + 2 KCl ⇌ K2SO4+2 NaCl in Methanol-Wasser-Mischungen

The solubility isotherms of the system Na₂SO₄? K₂SO₄? CH₃OH? H₂O at 25,40 and 55°C and the solubilities in the system of the metathetic salt reaction Na₂SO₄+ + 2KCl ? K₂SO₄ + 2NaCl in methanol-water mixtures at 10 and 25°C have been determined and the nature of the solid phases established. The addition of methanol causes an enlargement of the sulphatic existence fields. A flow sheet for the industrial application of the results is communicated.     

Structure of the products of the cyclization in acetic anhydride of β-(2-carboxy-5-chlorophenylamino) propionic acid and its nitrile

-(2-Carboxy-5-chlorophenylamino)propionic acid cyclizes in acetic anhydride to form 4-chloro-2-(2,4-dioxopiperidino)benzoic acid, which subsequently undergoes conversion into its lactone. Under the same conditions, -[acetyl(2-carboxy-5-chlorophenyl)amino]-propionitrile forms 7-chloro-1--cyanoethyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoline-2,4-dione. The structures of the compounds obtained were confirmed by their IR, UV, and PMR spectra. Peculiar features of application of pH gradients formed in borate buffer with a polyhydroxy compound for separation of proteins in a free-flow electrophoretic apparatus

The use of pH gradients in borate buffer with a polyhydroxy compound for separation of proteins in a free-flow electrophoretic apparatus is outlined. The composition of the pH gradients, the free-flow apparatus design and its operation, and the main causes of failures in the protein separation are considered.
