On the Effect of Boundary Conditions in the Ginzburg–Landau Theory on the Results of Calculations of the Critical State of Layered Structures

The effect of boundary conditions in the Ginzburg–Landau theory on the critical state of superconducting layered structures is studied. The method is based on the numerical solution of the Ginzburg–Landau nonlinear equations describing the behavior of a superconducting plate carrying a transport current in a magnetic field, provided the absence of vortices in it. The use of the general boundary condition for the Ginzburg–Landau system of equations leads to a change in the order parameter over the thickness of thin superconducting plates. The calculated dependences of the critical current of plates on the magnetic field applied in parallel to layers are used to determine the critical current of multilayered structures. It is assumed that the mutual influence of superconducting layers occurs only through the magnetic field induced by them.     

Molecular and crystal structure of 2H-3,4-dihydro-3-hydroxy-3-oxo-1,5,3-benzodioxaphosphepine

Conclusions An x-ray diffraction structural analysis was carried out for 2H-3,4-dihydro-3-hydroxy-3-oxo-1,5,3-benzodioxaphosphepine and the seven-membered heterocycle in this molecule was found to have chair conformation with an axial OH group.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Seriya Khimicheskaya, No. 6, pp. 1429–1431, June, 1988.     

Radiation effects in the production and decay of ψ mesons by leptons

A new expression _e is obtained for resonance in the reaction e⁺e^– ar ^+– with allowance for the radiative corrections, which also contain the emission of hard photons by the final leptons and the final value of the energy resolution E. An expression is obtained for the total probability of radiative lepton decay. A numerical analysis of the experimental data is made for the reaction ^+–, and the parameters e⁺e^– (3, 1) e⁺e^–, and _e ² /, _e, and are determined for (3, 1) resonance-with allowance for the radiative corrections.This paper was read (November 17–21, 1975) at a session on high-energy physics of the Department of Nuclear Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR.Translated from Izvestiya Vysshikh Uchebnykh Zavedenii, Fizika, No. 3, pp. 29–34, March, 1977.

Conformational analysis of dimethyl(bromomethyl)- and dimethyl(iodomethyl)phosphine oxides

Conclusions The oxides of dimethyl(bromomethyl)- and dimethyl(iodomethyl)phosphines exist as equilibrium mixtures of conformer pairs in solution, the form predominating in nonpolar solvents being that in which the phosphoryl and carbon-halogen bonds are in trans orientation.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Seriya Khimicheskaya, No. 6, pp. 1292–1296, June, 1981.     

Oscillations of stratified fluids

We study the problem on small motions and normal oscillations of a system of two heavy immiscible stratified fluids partially filling a fixed vessel. The lower fluid is assumed to be viscous, while the upper one is assumed to be ideal. We find sufficient existence conditions for a strong (with respect to the time variable) solution of the initial-boundary value problem describing the evolution of the specified hydraulic system. For the corresponding spectral system, we obtain results about the localization of the spectrum, asymptotic behavior of branches of eigenvalues, and existence of the substantial spectrum of the problem.
