Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spin trapping technology is a sensitive and unambiguous method for detection of nitric
oxide (NO). Due to the short lifetime, NO must be trapped before EPR measurement. There are two EPR spin trapping techniques
used currently, including the detections of EPR signals of diethyldithiocarbamate-iron-nitric oxide (DETC2-Fe2+-NO) and nitrosyl hemoglobin (HbNO). In this study, we firstly investigated the kinetics of the EPR signal of DETC2-Fe2+-NO in normal and ischemia-reperfused kidneys. In normal rat kidneys, the signal of DETC2-Fe2+-NO was found at 5 min after the spin trappers Fe2+/DETC were administrated, the peak concentration was at 15 min and the period with relatively stable signal intensity was
at the time range from 15 to 70 min. In the ischemia-reperfused rat kidneys, the signal of DETC2-Fe2+-NO was increased at 30 min of ischemia and decreased at 60 min of ischemia after the occlusion of renal artery (corresponding
to the time course of 60 and 90 min after Fe2+/DETC injection respectively). We then investigated the EPR signal of HbNO in blood. No characteristic HbNO signal was found
in the rats of the sham control and 30 min of ischemia. An HbNO signal occurred in the rats exposed to 60 min of ischemia
and it became pronounced with increased duration of reperfusion. The signal intensity reached a plateau at 150 min of reperfusion.
The results suggest that the DETC2-Fe2+-NO signal can be only suitable for the NO measurement in the short-term ischemia-reperfusion model, whereas the HbNO signal
can be applied to represent NO in the relatively long-term ischemia-reperfusion model. In addition, NG-nitro-L-arginine (L-NAME) and allopurinol were used to identify the source of NO. By detecting the HbNO signal, we demonstrated
that the activation of xanthine oxidase is an important source of NO formation at the long-term period of ischemia and reperfusion.

Ridge-waveguide InGaAsN triple-quantum-well strain-compensated lasers grown by metal organic chemical vapor deposition were fabricated with pulsed anodic oxidation. The laser’s output power reached 145 mW in continuous-wave mode at room temperature for a 4-?m -stripe-width laser. Continuous-wave single longitudinal mode operation was maintained at a high injection current level with a wavelength of 1287.3 nm at room temperature. Single longitudinal mode operation at 1317.2 nm was achieved at twice the threshold current at 100 °C. The band gap of InGaAsN in the quantum wells at different temperatures was calculated and compared to the measured temperature-dependent laser wavelength. 相似文献

Ring-shaped lead zirconate titanate (PZT) piezoelectric vibrators were subjected to non-uniform mechanical stress applied by bolt clamping. The effect of mechanical stress on the effective electromechanical coupling factor (keff) and mechanical quality factor (Qm) of the thickness and wall thickness modes was studied by an equivalent electric circuit analysis. The initiation and propagation of cracks under mechanical stress were also discussed based on the resonance method and the indentation technique. keff for both the thickness and wall thickness modes decreased with increase in mechanical stress due to de-poling of the PZT. Qm of the thickness mode dropped sharply with increase in mechanical stress while Qm of the wall thickness mode remained almost unchange. Existence of microcracks in a PZT vibrator can be detected by the occurrence of spurious vibrations at the wall thickness mode in the electrical impedance vs. frequency spectra. 相似文献

The normal breast tissue responds to the fluctuation of endogenous hormones during a menstrual cycle (MC) and shows changes in breast density. The changes between left and right breasts of the same women were compared to evaluate the symmetrical response. Twenty-four healthy women were recruited in this study. Four weekly magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies were performed during one MC. A computer algorithm was used to segment the breast and the fibroglandular tissue to measure the fibroglandular tissue volume (FV) and three morphological parameters: circularity, convexity and irregularity. The coefficient of variation (CV) for each parameter measured among four MRI studies was calculated; also, the maximal percent change between two MRI studies that show the highest and the lowest FV was calculated. Relaxations in polymer electrolytes were studied in poly(ethylene oxide) and epoxidized natural rubbers both filled with lithium perchlorate. Impedance relaxation was investigated over a wide range of salt concentration at room temperature. Imaginary part of impedance as a function of frequency exhibits generally one maximum and one minimum. These two extreme values rule properties in the DC limit. They can be related to transport properties and degree of dissociation. It turns out that DC conductivity is dominantly ruled by transport coefficient. 相似文献

A new chalcone-based probe containing coumarin and naphthol at both ends has been synthesized via aldol condensation. The uniqueness of the newly derived probe can be ascribed to the presence of naphthol and coumarin units acting as binding site and signaling element, respectively. The fluorogenic behaviors toward various anions were investigated. The probe was characterized by various spectroscopic techniques and the in-depth study led to show excellent selectivity and sensitivity for fluoride ions. The hydrogen bonding thus formed with fluoride anion provides remarkable fluorometric responses. The interactions of the probe with fluoride ions were determined by fluorescence, FT-IR and NMR spectroscopic techniques. The exploratory studies by fluorescent spectral changes augur well for the naked-eye sensing applications. 相似文献
