In scanning microscopy by total internal reflection with thermal lens spectroscopy, its spatial resolution depends on the distance between the sample and a converging lens, which corresponds to the objective lens in an ordinary optical microscope. It was found that the resolution was best when the signal induced by the thermal lens effect was maximum. The distance was precisely adjusted by monitoring the signal intensity, and the resolution became twice better than that previously reported. Using a shorter focal-length lens, a resolution of 1.9 microm was attained.  相似文献

This study develops a new use of data envelopment analysis for estimating a stochastic frontier cost function that is assumed to have two different error components: a one-sided disturbance (representing technical and allocative inefficiencies) and a two-sided disturbance (representing an observational error). The two error components are handled by data envelopment analysis in combination with goal programming/constrained regression. The approach proposed in this study can avoid several statistical assumptions used in conventional methods for estimating a stochastic frontier function. As an important application, this study uses the estimation technique to obtain an AT&T stochastic frontier cost function. As a result, this study measures technical and allocative efficiencies of AT&T production process and review its natural monopoly issue. The estimated stochastic frontier cost function is also compared with the other cost function models used for previous studies concerning the divestiture of the telephone industry.  相似文献

In continuous counter-current gas-liquid chromatography, which has a high resolving power and is suitable for the large-scale purification of organic solvents, it is very important that the samples that can be applied extend from easily separable to more difficult to separate, such as azeotropes, low-volatility compounds and stereoisomers. A system was designed and constructed for high-temperature operation up to 200°C, and was applied to the separation of dimethyl and diethyl phthalate, trans- and cis-decahydronaphthalene and cis-decahydronaphthalene and tetrahydronaphthalene. It was confirmed that over 99% of purity could be achieved for dimethyl and diethyl phthalate, trans-decahydronaphthalene, and tetrahydronaphthalene.  相似文献

The influences of two structural modifications on the photocurrent generation performance of the Langmuir–Blodgett (LB) film of the 6-O-phthalocyaninyl cellulose derivative were investigated. These structural modifications were the substituent groups at the O-2 and O-3 positions, and the central metal of the phthalocyanine moiety. Specifically, 6-O-Zn/phthalocyaninyl- (8a) and Pd/phthalocyaninyl (8b) -2,3-di-O-myristoylcelluloses were prepared instead of 6-O-Zn/phthalocyaninyl-2,3-di-O-myristylcellulose (2). The LB monolayer film of compound 8a on an indium thin oxide electrode showed higher photocurrent generation performance than that of compound 2. This suggested that myristoyl groups (C-14 acyl groups) were more beneficial to photocurrent generation than myristyl groups (C-14 alkyl groups), as the substituent at the O-2 and O-3 positions. The LB monolayer film of compound 8b showed photocurrent generation from 500 to 700 nm, although a blue-shift in the Q-band maximum was observed. The photocurrent generation performance of compound 8b was significantly higher than that of compound 8a. This indicated that Pd was more beneficial to photocurrent generation than Zn. The film of compound 8b prepared by the horizontal lifting method showed better photocurrent generation performance than that prepared by the vertical dipping method. Consequently, compound 8b is a complementary material to the porphyrin-appended cellulose derivative (1) for photocurrent generation system.  相似文献

We will provide sufficient conditions for the shifted hypergeometric function \(z_2F_1(a,b;c;z)\) to be a member of a specific subclass of starlike functions in terms of the complex parameters ab and c. For example, we study starlikeness of order \(\alpha ,\) \(\lambda \)-spirallikeness of order \(\alpha \) and strong starlikeness of order \(\alpha .\) In particular, those properties lead to univalence of the shifted hypergeometric functions on the unit disk.  相似文献

Distribution behavior of Ce(III), Am(III), and Cm(III) between tri-n-butyl phosphate solution and molten calcium nitrate hydrate Ca(NO3)2·RH2O or molten calcium chloride hydrate CaCl2·RH2O was studied radiochemically. In Ca(NO3)2·RH2O systems, maximum separation factors of Ce and Cm to Am were observed to be 12 (Ce/Am) and 1.7 (Cm/Am). The distribution ratios of these elements increased with the decrease of water activity in the hydrates, and the extractabilities at the water deficient region was less sensitive compared to those at the water abundant region. This trend was similar to the coordination circumstance change observed in electronic absorption spectra of Nd(III) in the hydrates.  相似文献

PhI(OCOCF3)2 (PIFA) in the presence of trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) in CH2Cl2 efficiently promotes the oxidative cycloisomerization of 2-propargyl 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds to give 4,5-disubstituted furfuryl alcohols. PIFA in hexafluoroisopropanol (HFIP) or PIFA-BF3·OEt2 in CH2Cl2 bring about the direct formation of furfurals from 2-propargyl 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds. Environmental assessment is increasingly important in preventing various types of pollutions. Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) has been long used as an operational performance measure, but we have insufficiently explored the use of DEA for environmental assessment. This study explores a new use of DEA for the environmental assessment in which outputs are classified into desirable (good) and undesirable (bad) outputs. Such an output separation is important in the DEA-based environmental assessment. This study extends the use of DEA to the measurement of both Returns to Scale (RTS) for desirable outputs and Damages to Scale (DTS) for undesirable outputs. A Range-Adjusted Measure (RAM) is used as a DEA model for this study because the non-radial model can easily combine the two types of outputs in a unified treatment. All the mathematical features regarding the RAM-based RTS/DTS measurement are first discussed from the operational and environmental performance in a separate treatment. Then, this study combines the two performance measures as a unified measure. The RAM-based RTS/DTS is mathematically explored from the unified measure for operational and environmental performance.  相似文献
