A general and efficient synthesis of allenes using a palladium(0)/diethylzinc system is described. Treatment of mesylates or trichloroacetates of (E)- or (Z)-2-bromoalk-2-en-1-ols with diethylzinc in the presence of a catalytic amount of palladium(0) affords allenes bearing an aminoalkyl, alkyl, or aryl substituent(s) in good to high yields. The preparation and optical properties of the novel silicon-related material named oxygen-crosslinked polysilane were investigated. The oxygen-crosslinked polysilane was prepared by the thermal annealing of the precursor polysilane bearing alkoxyl groups. The photoluminescence consisting of a broad visible band at about 440 nm and a relatively sharp band at about 360 nm was observed at room temperature. The relative intensities of the visible emission were changed during the crosslinking. The visible emission was greatly affected by the steric hindrance of the alkoxyl groups of the precursor. The visible electroluminescene (EL) was also observed uniformly from the EL cell consisting of the oxygen-crosslinked polysilane film sandwiched between A1 electrode and indium-tin-oxide (ITO) electrode. The physical aging of polycarbonate was investigated with dynamic viscoelastic measurements. Physical aging was observed for samples aged at 110 °C (QA) and room temperature (QP) after being quenched from the molten state. The shapes of the temperature dispersion curves of the dynamic viscoelastic functions (E′, E″, and tan δ) of the QA and QP samples changed with aging time in a temperature range below the glass‐transition temperature (Tg). However, at temperatures close to but below Tg, the curves for the aged samples merged into the curve of the quenched sample at a temperature denoted TH. TH increased with aging time. The experimental results suggest that the aged sample has a memory of having been quenched and that as the sample approaches the equilibrium state, this memory is lost. Differential scanning calorimetry thermograms showed an endothermic peak below Tg for the QA samples. The peak temperature (Tp) also increased with aging time. TH and Tp of the QA samples were approximately the same. The increase of both TH and Tp with aging time indicates that the structure of the polymeric chain in the glassy state relaxes over larger segment scale lengths because the scale of the movable segments is related to temperature. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. The effect of residual orbital magnetic moment of Co2+ in KCoF3 on the magnetic susceptibility has been studied. For the calculation for both the ordered state and the paramagnetic state we have applied the correlated effective field approximation developed by Lines. Boron (B) is an essential micronutrient for vascular plants. The function of B has been demonstrated to cross-link monomeric rhamnogalacturonan II (mRG-II) to form dimeric RG-II-borate (dRG-II-B), and thus to stabilize plant cell walls. The dRG-II-B to total RG-II ratio in the cell walls of pumpkin hydroponically grown under various low-B conditions was analyzed to evaluate its applicability to the diagnosis of plant B deficiency. The dRG-II-B ratio in cell walls ranged between approximately 0.9 in B-sufficient tissues and approximately 0.15 in severe B-deficient tissues, reflecting the B nutritional status of tissues. This result indicates that the degree of B shortage in plant tissues is very likely to be diagnosed by the dRG-II-B ratio in cell walls. 相似文献

Vertical (0
1)-oriented parallel minor facets as smooth as cleaved ones were obtained by selective chemical beam epitaxy (CBE) on both sidewalls of [011]-direction ridges formed by reactive ion etching (RIE) on a (100) InP substrate. The obtained vertical facets often had a symmetric shape on the both sidewalls of the ridge, which was required to use as Fabry-Perot mirrors in a semiconductor laser, although an asymmetric shape had been often obtained before optimizing the growth conditions. We clarified the cause of asymmetry using simulation of the flux distribution on the sidewalls of the ridge during growth, and found the optimum growth conditions to obtain symmetric and parallel mirror facets. 相似文献
