On Sobolev and Capacitary Inequalities for Contractive Besov Spaces over d-sets

We derive Sobolev inequalities for Besov spaces B ^p,p (F), 0<<1, 1p< on d-sets F in R ⁿ , dn, from a metric property of the Bessel capacity on R ⁿ . We first extend Kaimanovitch's result on the equivalence of Sobolev and capacitary inequalites for contractive p-norms in a general setting allowing unbounded Lévy kernels. A simple part of the Jonsson–Wallin trace theorem for Besov spaces and some basic properties of Bessel and Besov capacities on R ⁿ are then utilized in getting the desired inequalities. When p=2, the Besov space being considered is a non-local regular Dirichlet space and gives rise to a jump type symmetric Markov process M over the d-set. The upper bound of the transition function of M and metric properties of M -polar sets are then exhibited.     

STF数字微波低电平系统研究

STF是KEK为国际直线对撞机(ILC)建立的试验装置. 在STF中, 数字微波低电平系统用于控制超导腔的RF相位和幅度. 在没有实际腔运行的情况下, 设计了一个基于FPGA技术的实时超导腔模拟器, 用于测试微波低电平系统的硬件和算法. 超导腔的数字控制器用FPGA实现, 其中采用了PI反馈控制和前馈控制算法. 测试表明, 超导腔模拟器和控制器都工作良好, 可用于STF微波低电平系统的进一步开发.     

X‐ray fluorescence analysis of sludge ash from sewage disposal plant

Glass bead/x‐ray fluorescence spectrometry of the sludge incineration ashes generated in sewage processing was developed for the determination of ten major components (Na₂O, MgO, Al₂O₃, SiO₂, P₂O₅, K₂O, CaO, TiO₂, MnO, Fe₂O₃) and five minor elements (Zn, Cu, Cr, As, Pb). Sewage sludge ashes consisted of rock‐forming minerals and phosphate crystals that had been used for phosphorus removal. Ash samples were melted and molded with lithium tetraborate to 35 mm diameter glass disks in a Pt–Au crucible. Analytical results of ten major components and five minor elements agreed well with the recommended values of a phosphate rock standard reference material (NIST SRM 694). Elemental compositions of sewage sludge ash from seven sewage‐processing plants in Japan were determined using this method. Concentrations of Fe₂O₃, SiO₂, and CaO, along with loss of ignition in sewage sludge ash mutually differed among the sewage‐processing plant products. Seasonal variations in concentrations of ten major components and five minor components of ash samples produced from October 2001 to September 2002 were determined using the proposed method. Concentrations of SiO₂increased with the inflow of gravel by rainfall, thereby decreasing concentrations of P₂O₅ originating from excreta and microorganisms. An Example of a Fiber in Fibrations Whose Serre Spectral Sequences Collapse

We give an example of a space X with the property that every orientable fibration with the fiber X is rationally totally non-cohomologous to zero, while there exists a nontrivial derivation of the rational cohomology of X of negative degree.     

The effect of local structural disruption on the yield of photochemical ligation between anthracene-oligonucleotide conjugates.

The techniques of chemical ligation have attracted great attention as an alternative to enzymatic joining of DNA ends. Here we introduce the photoligation of anthracene-modified ODN conjugates through anthracene cyclodimer formation. The effect of the positions and the kinds of single base mismatch on the template was evaluated using eight templates with one-base displacements. We found out that the yield of the ligation was affected by mispairing in a position-dependent manner. Such results would be attributed to the disruption of the local structure at the ligation site.     

One-pot stereospecific construction of cis-clerodane skeleton by means of doubly stereocontrolled cyclization: Total synthesis of linaridial

Doubly stereocontrolled cyclization of the allylsilane derivative 1 followed by trapping of the enolate with ClCH₂SMe gives in one-pot manner the decalone derivatve 5 in which all of the four contiguous diastereomeric centers of -clerodane skeleton have been secured. The total synthesis of linaridial 4 have been accomplished from 5.     

Syntheses of N-aryl-protected glucosamines and their stereoselectivity in chemical glycosylations

N-Aryl-protecting groups were introduced in glucosamines to achieve β-selective glycosylation. Various N-aryl aminosugars were synthesized via Buchwald–Hartwig reaction. Glycosylation using glycosyl trichloroacetimidates of N-aryl aminosugars smoothly proceeded in the presence of trimethylsilyl trifluoromethanesulfonate. Use of a glycosyl donor comprising an electron-donating 2,4-dimethoxyphenyl (DMP) group led to the glycosylation proceeding with high β selectivity. This stereoselectivity seemed to be derived from the formation of an aziridine intermediate. The DMP-protecting group can be removed immediately by using ammonium hexanitratocerate (IV).     

Pressure calculation in hybrid particle-field simulations

In the framework of a recently developed scheme for a hybrid particle-field simulation techniques where self-consistent field (SCF) theory and particle models (molecular dynamics) are combined [J. Chem. Phys. 130, 214106 (2009)], we developed a general formulation for the calculation of instantaneous pressure and stress tensor. The expressions have been derived from statistical mechanical definition of the pressure starting from the expression for the free energy functional in the SCF theory. An implementation of the derived formulation suitable for hybrid particle-field molecular dynamics-self-consistent field simulations is described. A series of test simulations on model systems are reported comparing the calculated pressure with those obtained from standard molecular dynamics simulations based on pair potentials.     

Biological activities of phenolic compounds isolated from galls of Terminalia chebula Retz. (Combretaceae)

The aqueous extract of galls from Terminalia chebula Retz. (Combretaceae) was fractionated on Diaion and refractionated on octadecyl silica column. Six phenolic compounds were isolated and identified as gallic acid (1), punicalagin (2), isoterchebulin (3), 1,3,6-tri-O-galloyl-β-D-glucopyranose (4), chebulagic acid (5) and chebulinic acid (6). All of the compounds showed stronger 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging and melanin inhibitory activities than ascorbic acid, butylated hydroxytoluene, α-tocopherol, arbutin and kojic acid, the reference compounds. Gallic acid (1) exhibited inhibitory activity against nitric oxide production in lipopolysaccharide-activated macrophages. However, all isolated compounds exhibited less activity than the reference compounds in mushroom tyrosinase inhibition and human tumour cytotoxicity assays. This study has demonstrated that the phenolic compounds isolated from galls of T. chebula might contribute significantly due to their antioxidant and whitening activities.     

Preparation and certification of arsenate [As(V)] reference material, NMIJ CRM 7912-a

Arsenate [As(V)] solution reference material, National Metrology Institute of Japan (NMIJ) certified reference material (CRM) 7912-a, for speciation of arsenic species was developed and certified by NMIJ, the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology. High-purity As₂O₃ reagent powder was dissolved in 0.8 M HNO₃ solution and As(III) was oxidized to As(V) with HNO₃ to prepare 100 mg kg^-1 of As(V) candidate CRM solution. The solution was bottled in 400 bottles (50 mL each). The concentration of As(V) was determined by four independent analytical techniques—inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry, graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry, and liquid chromatography inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry—according to As(V) calibration solutions, which were prepared from the arsenic standard of the Japan Calibration Service system and whose species was guaranteed to be As(V) by NMIJ. The uncertainties of all the measurements and preparation procedures were evaluated. The certified value of As(V) in the CRM is (99.53 ± 1.67) mg kg^-1 (k = 2).
