Bicyclic [b]-heteroannulated pyridazine derivatives. 4. Cyclization reactions of 4-aryltetrahydropyridazine-3,6-dione 3-hydrazones with some keto esters

Ethoxycarbonylalkylidene derivatives 2 and 6 of the title hydrazones were obtained in the reaction with ethyl pyruvate or ethyl aroylformate and ethyl acetoacetate, respectively, in methanol. Both compounds were mixtures of geometric isomers with high predominance of one of them. Nmr spectroscopy revealed an unexpected magnetic non-equivalence of the CH₂ protons in the ester ethyl group of the major isomer of 6 . On heating (?200°) in an inert medium or on refluxing in ethanolic sodium ethoxide 2 cyclized to the corresponding pyridazino[6,1-c]-triazines 4 , whereas 6 formed pyrazolylpyridazines 7 . The structure of the latter was unambigously established by X-ray analysis. Alkylation of 4a with benzyl bromide in the presence of tetrabutylammonium bromide occurred selectively on the pyridazine N atom.     

Synthesis of (+)-2R,3R,11R,12R- and (−)-2S,3S,11S,12S-tetraphenyl-18-crown-6

The synthesis of the title crown ethers starting from optically active hydrobenzoins is described. R(+)-1,in CDCl₃ ,preferentially extracts R(+)-phenylglycine methyl ester hydroperchlorate from an aqueous solution of the racemate with a chiral recognition factor of 1.5 as shown by nmr measurements.     

Inclusion-dependent mechanism of modification of cyclodextrins with heterocycles

Mono(6-deoxy-dimethylpyridinium)-β-cyclodextrins have been synthesized in reaction of mono (p-toluenesulfonyl) derivative of β cyclodextrin with the appropriate lutidine under microwave irradiation and conventional conditions. The results indicate that the mechanism consists of inclusion complex formation.     

2,3‐Difluoro‐4‐formyl­phenyl­boronic acid

The mol­ecule of the title compound, 2,3‐F₂‐4‐(CHO)C₆H₂B(OH)₂ or C₇H₅BF₂O₃, contains a formyl group coplanar with the benzene ring. The boronic acid group is twisted with respect to the benzene ring plane. The mol­ecules are organized into infinite chains via inter­molecular O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds. These chains are additionally connected via strong O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds, producing a folded layer structure perpendicular to the a axis. These layers are paired due to B⋯F inter­actions.     

Synthesis of (-)-2s,3s, 11s,12r-2,3,11,12-tetraphenyl[18]crown-6

The synthesis of ( - ) 2S,3S,11S,12R-2, 3,11,12-tetraphenyl [18]-crown-6 from (-)-1S,2S-hydrobenzoin and meso-hydrobenzoin is described. Chemical shifts and vicinal coupling constants of the benzylic protons in the 2 S, 3 S and 11 S,12 R substructures in the free ligands and in complexes with KSCN and 1-phenylethylammonium bromides and a brief discussion of the related conformational changes are also presented. A detailed procedure for the resolution of racemic hydrobenzoin is given.     

1,2-Dialkoxyacenaphthylenes and 2,3,11,12-bis-(1,2-acenaphtho)-[18]crown-6

A general synthesis of 1,2-dialkoxyacenaphthylenes by dehydrogenation of the corresponding acenaphthene derivatives with high potential quinones is described. The new crown ether, 2,3,11,12-bis(1,2-acenaphtho)-[18]crown-6, 1, is obtained by this route. The surprisingly poor complexing ability of 1 is ascribed to electronic and geometrical effects of the acenaphthylene rings as shown by spectroscopic and voltammetric data and the crystal structure of the free ligand 1.

Stationary phases with special structural properties for high-throughput separation techniques: preparation, characterization and applications

Stationary phases with specific structural properties for high-throughput liquid chromatographic (LC) techniques are described. Special attention was paid to phases with special structural properties, mainly containing internal functional group (e.g. amide). Such materials are generally called "embedded phases". There are phases created in amidation process of aminopropylated silica gel, especially phases based on biological compounds, like phospholipids and cholesterol, which are called immobilized artificial membranes (IAM's). The synthesis and applications of polar embedded amide LC stationary phases were also reviewed. Methods of characterization of synthesized packing materials were presented, with general focusing on spectroscopic measurements like (13C and 29Si CP/MAS NMR and FT-IR), elemental and thermal analysis as well as chromatographic quantitative structure-retention relationships (QSRR) and extended chemometric tests. The potential applications of various dedicated stationary phases in a high-throughput LC screening procedures were also presented.
