Different environmental processes utilize calcium carbonate and sedimentary rocks, for instance sedimentary rocks are used for water purification as filters and utilized also for acid remediation of process waters before being discarded. Additionally sedimentary rocks are used in another very important environmental process, wet Flue Gas Desulfurization. In this process, limestone and carbonates in general play one important role because of their dissolution and provision of the necessary amount of calcium ions used for the precipitation of gypsum. The objective of this study is to present in a first place an overview of a reduced number of specific theoretical and empirical mathematical models applied to the dissolution of carbonates in acidic environments with provision of additional developments and details, secondly a case study was presented where a suitable time of exposure and surface diffusivity obtained analytically by different methods well describe the experimental results. There were justifications for this choice. The experimental data and the related mathematical modeling were performed considering transient conditions. In the present work diverse raw materials were tested in order to reveal their suitability for wet Flue Gas Desulfurization. The research was focused on products from $\text{ CO }_{2}$ CO 2 fixation processes materials as well as other types of limestone samples. In this way it was found that also waste materials from different environmental processes, like $\text{ CO }_{2}$ CO 2 fixation can be used for Flue Gas Desulfurization.  相似文献

We study the orbit behaviour of a germ of an analytic vector field of (\mathbbCn ,0), n 3 2.(\mathbb{C}^n ,0), n \geq 2. We prove that if its linear part is semisimple, non–resonant and verifies a Bruno–like condition, then the origin is effectively stable: stable for finite but exponentially long times.  相似文献

Synchronization is an important behavior that characterizes many natural and human made systems that are composed by several interacting units. It can be found in a broad spectrum of applications, ranging from neuroscience to power-grids, to mention a few. Such systems synchronize because of the complex set of coupling they exhibit, with the latter being modeled by complex networks. The dynamical behavior of the system and the topology of the underlying network are strongly intertwined, raising the question of the optimal architecture that makes synchronization robust. The Master Stability Function (MSF) has been proposed and extensively studied as a generic framework for tackling synchronization problems. Using this method, it has been shown that, for a class of models, synchronization in strongly directed networks is robust to external perturbations. Recent findings indicate that many real-world networks are strongly directed, being potential candidates for optimal synchronization. Moreover, many empirical networks are also strongly non-normal. Inspired by this latter fact in this work, we address the role of the non-normality in the synchronization dynamics by pointing out that standard techniques, such as the MSF, may fail to predict the stability of synchronized states. We demonstrate that, due to a transient growth that is induced by the structure’s non-normality, the system might lose synchronization, contrary to the spectral prediction. These results lead to a trade-off between non-normality and directedness that should be properly considered when designing an optimal network, enhancing the robustness of synchronization.  相似文献

In this paper we describe an algorithm to determine the instability region of the endemic equilibrium of a delay model for phage–bacteria interaction in open marine environment. The algorithm relies on a new geometric criterion for stability switches introduced by Beretta and Kuang for delay models for which the corresponding characteristic equations have delay-dependent coefficients [6]. The outputs of the algorithm presented in this paper, which can be equivalently applied to similar 2D delay models, show that for this kind of models large delays are usually stabilizing.  相似文献
