Sulfenic acid (HSOH, 1 ) has been synthesized in the gas‐phase by low‐pressure high‐temperature (1150 °C) pyrolysis of di‐tert‐butyl sulfoxide (tBu2SO, 2 ) and characterized by means of matrix isolation and gas‐phase IR spectroscopy. High‐level coupled‐cluster (CC) calculations (CCSD(T)/cc‐pVTZ and CCSD(T)/cc‐pVQZ) support the first identification of the gas‐phase IR spectrum of 1 and enable its spectral characterization. Five of the six vibrational fundamentals of matrix‐isolated 1 have been assigned, and its rotational‐resolved gas‐phase IR spectrum provides additional information on the O–H and S–H stretching fundamentals. Investigations of the pyrolysis reaction by mass spectrometry, matrix isolation, and gas‐phase FT‐IR spectroscopy reveal that, up to 500 °C, 2 decomposes selectively into tert‐butylsulfenic acid, (tBuSOH, 3 ), and 2‐methylpropene. The formation of the isomeric sulfoxide (tBu(H)SO, 3 a ) has been excluded. Transient 3 has been characterized by a comprehensive matrix and gas‐phase vibrational IR study guided by the predicted vibrational spectrum calculated at the density functional theory (DFT) level (B3LYP/6‐311+G(2d,p)). At higher temperatures, the intramolecular decomposition of 3 , monitored by matrix IR spectroscopy, yields short‐lived 1 along with 2‐methylpropene, but also H2O, and most probably sulfur atoms. In addition, HSSOH ( 6 ), H2, and S2O are found among the final pyrolysis products observed at 1150 °C in the gas phase owing to competing intra‐ and intermolecular decomposition routes of 3 . The decomposition routes of the starting compound 2 and of the primary intermediate 3 are discussed on the basis of experimental results and a computational study performed at the B3LYP/6‐311G* and second‐order Møller–Plesset (MP2/6‐311G* and RI‐MP2/QZVPP) levels of theory.  相似文献

The gadolinium (Gd) member of a new type of heteropolytungstates that contain one lanthanide and two transition metal ions in a triangular arrangement is reported. The compound NaK6Gd0.33 [((VO)2Gd(H2O)4K2(H2O)2(Na)(H2O)2)(α-B-AsW9O33)2]·24H2O (1) was prepared from acidified aqueous solutions of Na2WO4·2H2O, As2O3 and VOSO4·5H2O to which Gd3+ ions were added. The single crystal X-ray structure analysis (monoclinic, space group P21/m) shows that the anion consists of two [α-B-AsIIIW9O33]9? trilacunary Keggin-type units linked by two VO2+, one Gd3+ as well as weakly by two K+ and one Na+ ions, resulting in a sandwich-type structure with idealized C 2v symmetry. The problem of positioning crystal lattice and special polyoxometalate sites with different cations is discussed also in connection with supramolecular chemistry aspects and as an option for further research. A fit of the magnetic susceptibility yielded exchange coupling constants of J VV = ?2.55 cm?1 (anti-ferromagnetic) between the vanadium ions and J GdV = 0.6 cm?1 (ferromagnetic) between the Gd and each of the two vanadium ions. The complete magnetochemical analysis also revealed a partial occupancy of the Na+ sites in the counter-cation–water system by Gd3+ ions (0.33 Gd3+ ions in total).  相似文献

Subtle differences in the local sequence and conformation of amino acids can result in diversity and specificity in electron transfer (ET) in proteins, despite structural conservation of the redox partners. For individual ET steps, distance is not necessarily the decisive parameter; orientation and solvent accessibility of the ET partners, and thus the stabilization of the charge-separated states, contribute substantially.  相似文献

The spatial distribution of proteins in tissue sections can be used to identify potential markers for pathological processes. Tissue sections are often subjected to enzymatic digestion before matrix‐assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI) imaging. This study is targeted at improving the on‐tissue identification of tryptic peptides by accurate mass measurements and complementary off‐line liquid chromatography coupled to electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry (LC/ESI‐MS/MS) analysis. Two adjacent mouse brain sections were analyzed in parallel. The first section was spotted with trypsin and analyzed by MALDI imaging. Direct on‐tissue MS/MS experiments of this section resulted in the identification of 14 peptides (originating from 4 proteins). The second tissue section was homogenized, fractionated by ultracentrifugation and digested with trypsin prior to LC/ESI‐MS/MS analysis. The number of identified peptides was increased to 153 (corresponding to 106 proteins) by matching imaged mass peaks to peptides which were identified in these LC/ESI‐MS/MS experiments. All results (including MALDI imaging data) were based on accurate mass measurements (RMS <2 ppm) and allow a confident identification of tryptic peptides. Measurements based on lower accuracy would have led to ambiguous or misleading results. MS images of identified peptides were generated with a bin width (mass range used for image generation) of Δm/z = 0.01. The application of accurate mass measurements and additional LC/MS measurements increased both the quality and the number of peptide identifications. The advantages of this approach for the analysis of biological tissue sections are demonstrated and discussed in detail. Results indicate that accurate mass measurements are needed for confident identification and specific image generation of tryptic peptides in tissue sections.
