This Letter presents the first search for supersymmetry in final states containing one isolated electron or muon, jets, and missing transverse momentum from √s=7 TeV proton-proton collisions at the LHC. The data were recorded by the ATLAS experiment during 2010 and correspond to a total integrated luminosity of 35 pb(-1). No excess above the standard model background expectation is observed. Limits are set on the parameters of the minimal supergravity framework, extending previous limits. Within this framework, for A(0)=0 GeV, tanβ=3, and μ>0 and for equal squark and gluino masses, gluino masses below 700 GeV are excluded at 95% confidence level.  相似文献

This Letter presents a measurement of the W+ W- production cross section in sqrt(s) = 7 TeV pp collisions by the ATLAS experiment, using 34 pb(-1) of integrated luminosity produced by the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. Selecting events with two isolated leptons, each either an electron or a muon, 8 candidate events are observed with an expected background of 1.7 ± 0.6 events. The measured cross section is 41(-16)(+20)(stat) ± 5(syst)±1(lumi) pb, which is consistent with the standard model prediction of 44 ± 3 pb calculated at next-to-leading order in QCD.  相似文献

In this work, a comparative study of the effect of doping by low content of Y3+ between (Ca site) and out of (Sr site) the CuO2 planes of Bi(Pb)-2212 phase is presented. Ceramics of Bi1.6Pb0.4Sr2Ca1−xYxCu2O8+d (called CY series) and Bi1.6Pb0.4Sr2−xYxCaCu2O8+d (called SY series) with x=0, 0.025, 0.05, 0.075 and 0.1 are elaborated in air by conventional solid state reaction. They are characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electronic Microscopy (SEM), density, Vickers microhardness and resistivity measurements. The refinement of cell parameters is done by considering the structural modulation. In comparison with the undoped sample (x=0), the cell parameters a, b and c are reduced by the doping for both series while the b component of the modulation vector increases. A good correlation between the variations of the bulk density and the Vickers microhardness with x is obtained. For both series, the SEM analysis shows that the doped samples exhibit a reduced grain size than that of the undoped one. The variation of resistivity with temperature shows that all samples exhibit a metallic-like character in the normal state. For all doping levels, the CY series presents higher onset critical transition temperature than that of the undoped sample, which is equal to 85.43 K. The opposite is obtained for SY series. The highest value of this temperature is obtained for x=0.075 in the doped samples and is about 92.15 and 79.96 K for CY and SY series, respectively. These values may correspond to a near optimally doped state since the slope (dρ/dT) of resistivity shows a maximum at the same value of x=0.075. For both series, when Y3+ is introduced into the samples, the residual resistivity decreases first for x=0.025 and increases gradually after this value until x=0.1.  相似文献

We measured resistivity and transport critical current density, Jc, as a function of DC magnetic field and the angle (?) between the surface of the film and the magnetic field on ex-situ annealed, c-axis oriented Bi-2223 thin films fabricated by DC sputtering method. Irreversibility field (μ0Hirr) and upper critical field (μ0Hc2) were determined from the resistivity versus the applied magnetic field graph. It is observed that critical temperature (Tc), μ0Hirr,μ0Hc2 and Jc of the films strongly depend on the direction and strength of the field. While Tc of the film without magnetic field is observed to be about 102 K, it is found to decrease to 90 K (85 K) for the applied field perpendicular (parallel) to c-axis of the film. Not only were μ0Hirr(0) and μ0Hc2(0) values determined from the μ0Hirr and μ0Hc2 versus temperature graphs, respectively, but also penetration depths and coherence lengths were interpreted. Anisotropy of the film was also discussed by means of the change of irreversibility as a function of angle. Moreover at 4.2 K, Jc was observed to be 3000 A/cm2 at zero field; however, it was found to abruptly decrease to 1982 (1 1 2 0) A/cm2 under low magnetic field at ?=0° (?=90°), which indicates that anisotropic Jc behavior of the film is intrinsic. Furthermore, we provided a theoretical analysis of the obtained results in the framework of intrinsic pinning theory of superconductors. Microstructural properties of the produced films were also reinvestigated by X-ray diffractometer (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) measurements. XRD patterns indicate that the films are c-axis oriented based on the prominent (0 0 l) peaks. SEM images show needle-like grain structures dominate the surface morphology of the films.  相似文献

An emerging research area in computational biology and biotechnology is devoted to mathematical modeling and prediction of gene-expression patterns; to fully understand its foundations requires a mathematical study. This paper surveys and mathematically expands recent advances in modeling and prediction by rigorously introducing the environment and aspects of errors and uncertainty into the genetic context within the framework of matrix and interval arithmetic. Given the data from DNA microarray experiments and environmental measurements we extract nonlinear ordinary differential equations which contain parameters that are to be determined. This is done by a generalized Chebychev approximation and generalized semi-infinite optimization. Then, time-discretized dynamical systems are studied. By a combinatorial algorithm which constructs and follows polyhedra sequences, the region of parametric stability is detected. Finally, we analyze the topological landscape of gene-environment networks in terms of structural stability. This pioneering work is practically motivated and theoretically elaborated; it is directed towards contributing to applications concerning better health care, progress in medicine, a better education and more healthy living conditions.  相似文献

In this article, we study the dynamics of large-scale motion in atmosphere and ocean governed by the 3D quasi-geostrophic potential vorticity (QGPV) equation with a constant stratification. It is shown that for a Kolmogorov forcing on the first energy shell, there exist a family of exact solutions that are dissipative Rossby waves. The nonlinear stability of these exact solutions are analyzed based on the assumptions on the growth rate of the forcing. In the absence of forcing, we show the existence of selective decay states for the 3D QGPV equation. The selective decay states are the 3D Rossby waves traveling horizontally at a constant speed. All these results can be regarded as the expansion of that of the 2D QGPV system and in the case of 3D QGPV system with isotropic viscosity. Finally, we present a geometric foundation for the model as a general equation for nonequilibrium reversible-irreversible coupling.  相似文献

High-energy ball milling has been shown to be a promising method for the fabrication of rare earth—transition metal nanopowders. In this work, NdCo5 nanoflakes and nanoparticles have been produced by a two-stage high-energy ball milling (HEBM), by first using wet HEBM to prepare precursor nanocrystalline powders followed by surfactant-assisted HEBM. NdCo5 flakes have a thickness below 150 nm and an aspect ratio as high as 102–103; the nanoparticles have an average size of 7 nm. Both the nanoparticles and nano-flakes exhibited high coercivities at low temperatures, with values at 50 K of 3 and 3.7 kOe, respectively. The high values of coercivity can be attributed to the large surface anisotropy of nanoparticles that leads to an effective uniaxial-type of behavior in contrast to the planar anisotropy of the bulk samples. Angle-dependent magnetization measurements at different temperatures were used to determine the spin reorientation transitions in the nanopowders and nanoparticles. The nanoparticles showed spin reorientation temperatures, T SR1 = 276 and T SR2 = 237 K which are lower when compared with the values of 290 and 245 K, respectively for bulk.  相似文献

A search for the Higgs boson has been performed in the H→WW(*)→?(+)ν?(-)ν[over ˉ] channel (?=e/μ) with an integrated luminosity of 2.05 fb(-1) of pp collisions at √s=7 TeV collected with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. No significant excess of events over the expected background is observed and limits on the Higgs boson production cross section are derived for a Higgs boson mass in the range 110 GeV相似文献

The χ(b)(nP) quarkonium states are produced in proton-proton collisions at the Large Hadron Collider at sqrt[s] = 7 TeV and recorded by the ATLAS detector. Using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.4 fb(-1), these states are reconstructed through their radiative decays to Υ(1S,2S) with Υ → μ+ μ-. In addition to the mass peaks corresponding to the decay modes χ(b)(1P,2P) → Υ(1S)γ, a new structure centered at a mass of 10.530 ± 0.005(stat) ± 0.009(syst) GeV is also observed, in both the Υ(1S)γ and Υ(2S)γ decay modes. This structure is interpreted as the χ(b)(3P) system.  相似文献

This study presents the identification of a title compound, p-biphenyloxycarbonylphenyl acrylate by means of experimental and theoretical evidences. The spectroscopic properties of the compound were experimentally investigated by Fourier transformation-infrared spectra (in the region 400-4000 cm(-1)) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) chemical shifts (with a frequency of 400 MHz). Moreover, the optimized molecular structures, vibrational frequencies including infrared intensities and Raman activities, corresponding vibrational spectra interpreted with the aid of normal coordinate analysis based on scaled density functional force field, thermodynamic properties, atomic charges and ultraviolet-visible (UV-vis) spectra were analyzed utilizing ab initio Hartree-Fock (HF) and Density Functional Theory (B3LYP) methods at 6-31G(d,p) calculation level. It was found that the vibrational frequencies and chemical shifts obtained were shown to have a good agreement with available experimental results. We not only simulated frontier molecular orbitals (FMO) and molecular electrostatic potential (MEP) but also evaluated the transition state and energy band gap clearly.  相似文献
