Deep UV resonance Raman spectroscopy was used for characterizing ligand-metal ion complexes. The obtained results demonstrated a strong intrinsic sensitivity and selectivity of a Raman spectroscopic signature of a bicyclic diamide, a novel chelating agent for lanthanides and actinides (Lumetta, G. J.; Rapko, B. M.; Garza, P. A.; Hay, B. P.; Gilbertson, R. D.; Weakley, T. J. R.; Hutchison, J. E. J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2002, 124, 5644). Molecular modeling, which included structure optimization and calculation of Raman frequencies and resonance intensities, allowed for assigning all strong Raman bands of the bicyclic diamide as well as predicting the band shifts observed because of complex formation with metal ions. A comparative analysis of Raman spectra and the results of the molecular modeling could be used for elucidating the structure of complexes in solution.  相似文献

The reaction of UO(2)(NO(3))(2).6H(2)O with Cs(2)CO(3) or CsCl, H(3)PO(4), and Ga(2)O(3) under mild hydrothermal conditions results in the formation of Cs(4)[(UO(2))(2)(GaOH)(2)(PO(4))(4)].H(2)O (UGaP-1) or Cs[UO(2)Ga(PO(4))(2)] (UGaP-2). The structure of UGaP-1 was solved from a twinned crystal revealing a three-dimensional framework structure consisting of one-dimensional (1)(infinity)[Ga(OH)(PO(4))(2)](4-) chains composed of corner-sharing GaO(6) octahedra and bridging PO(4) tetrahedra that extend along the c axis. The phosphate anions bind the UO(2)(2+) cations to form UO(7) pentagonal bipyramids. The UO(7) moieties edge-share to create dimers that link the gallium phosphate substructure into a three-dimensional (3)(infinity)[(UO(2))(2)(GaOH)(2)(PO(4))(4)](4-) anionic lattice that has intersecting channels running down the b and c axes. Cs(+) cations and water molecules occupy these channels. The structure of UGaP-2 is also three-dimensional and contains one-dimensional (1)(infinity)[Ga(PO(4))(2)](3-) gallium phosphate chains that extend down the a axis. These chains are formed from fused eight-membered rings of corner-sharing GaO(4) and PO(4) tetrahedra. The chains are in turn linked together into a three-dimensional (3)(infinity)[UO(2)Ga(PO(4))(2)](1-) framework by edge-sharing UO(7) dimers as occurs in UGaP-1. There are channels that run down the a and b axes through the framework. These channels contain the Cs(+) cations. Ion-exchange studies indicate that the Cs(+) cations in UGaP-1 and UGaP-2 can be exchanged for Ca(2+) and Ba(2+). Novel open-framework alkali metal uranyl periodates, having the formula A[(UO2)3(HIO6)(OH)(O)(H2O)].1.5H2O (A = Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs), have been prepared through mild hydrothermal synthesis. These isostructural compounds contain distorted UO7 pentagonal bipyramids that are linked through a uranyl (UO22+) to uranyl cation-cation interaction. This interaction arises from a single axial uranyl oxygen coordinating at an equatorial site of an adjacent uranyl unit. These uranium oxide polyhedra are further bound by IO6 distorted octahedra creating an open-framework structure whose channels contain the alkali metal cations.  相似文献

A new steroidal saponin was isolated from the leaves of Agave attenuata. Its structure was established as (3beta,beta,25S)-spirostan-3-yl O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1 --> 2)-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1 --> 2)-O-[beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1 --> 3)]-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1 --> 4)-beta-D-galactopyranoside. The structural identification was performed using detailed analyses of 1H- and 13C-NMR spectra including 2D NMR spectroscopic techniques (COSY, HETCOR, and COLOC) and chemical conversions. The hemolytic activity of the steroidal saponin was evaluated using an in vitro assay.  相似文献

Molecular and crystal structure of a series of derivatives of N,N-dimethyl-4-nitroaniline has been studied by both X-ray diffraction method and high-level ab initio calculations. According to these data, the dimethylamino groups were found to have a trigonal-pyramidal configuration and are considerably turned with respect to the ring plane in all molecules having a substituent in the ortho-position; on the contrary, this group is planar in the meta-substituted molecules. Topological analysis of the electron density function for all molecules studied within the framework of Bader's ‘atoms in molecules’ (AIM) theory revealed that introduction of a substituent into the ortho- or meta-position of the ring results in increasing of the contribution of the resonance forms different from the quinoid one. Contribution of the latter form is predominant for the structure of N,N-dimethyl-4-nitroaniline (1). Topological analysis of the electron density distribution was used to explain a decreasing of the molecular hyperpolarisabilites of the ortho- and meta-substituted compounds as compared with those for 1.  相似文献

The biosynthetic gene cluster of the 2-deoxystreptamine (DOS)-containing aminoglycoside antibiotic neomycin has been cloned for the first time by screening of a cosmid library of Streptomyces fradiae NCIMB 8233. Sequence analysis has identified 21 putative open reading frames (ORFs) in the neomycin gene cluster (neo) with significant protein sequence similarity to gene products involved in the biosynthesis of other DOS-containing aminoglycosides, namely butirosin (btr), gentamycin (gnt), tobramycin (tbm) and kanamycin (kan). Located at the 5'-end of the neo gene cluster is the previously-characterised neomycin phosphotransferase gene (apH). Three genes unique to the neo and btr clusters have been revealed by comparison of the neo cluster to btr, gnt, tbm and kan clusters. This suggests that these three genes may be involved in the transfer of a ribose moiety to the DOS ring during the antibiotic biosynthesis. The product of the neo-6 gene is characterised here as the L-glutamine : 2-deoxy-scyllo-inosose aminotransferase responsible for the first transamination in DOS biosynthesis, which supports the assignment of the gene cluster.  相似文献

The first three representatives of the new family of oxacyclophanes incorporating two 2,7-dioxyfluorenone fragments, connected by [-CH(2)CH(2)O-](m) spacers (m=2-4), have been synthesized. The yield of the smallest oxacyclophane (m=2) is considerably higher with respect to the larger ones (m=3 and m=4), which are formed in comparable yields. Molecular modeling and NMR spectra analysis of the model compounds suggest that an essential difference in oxacyclophanes yields is caused by formation of quasi-cyclic intermediates, which are preorganized for macrocyclization owing to intramolecular pi-pi stacking interactions between the fluorenone units. The solid-state structures of these oxacyclophanes exhibit intra- and intermolecular pi-pi stacking interactions that dictate their rectangular shape in the fluorenone backbone and crystal packing of the molecules with the parallel or T-shape arrangement. The crystal packing in all cases is also sustained by weak C--HO hydrogen bonds. FAB mass spectral analysis of mixtures of the larger oxacyclophanes (m=3 and m=4) and a paraquat moiety revealed peaks corresponding to the loss of one and two PF(6) (-) counterions from the 1:1 complexes formed. However, no signals were observed for complexes of the paraquat moiety with the smaller oxacyclophane (m=2). Computer molecular modeling of complexes revealed a pseudorotaxane-like incorporation of the paraquat unit, sandwiched within a macrocyclic cavity between the almost parallel-aligned fluorenone rings of the larger oxacyclophanes (m=3 and m=4). In contrast to this, only external complexes of the smallest oxacyclophane (m=2) with a paraquat unit have been found in the energy window of 10 kcal mol(-1).  相似文献

Crystalline ZrO2 nanoparticles were prepared from zirconium isopropoxide by slow hydrolysis and subsequent hydrothermal treatment of solutions containing various amounts of sodium hydroxide at 180 °C. Whereas moderately basic solutions lead to the formation of nanoparticles of monoclinic ZrO2 with plate-like morphology, and nanoparticles of the cubic ZrO2 high-temperature polymorph with diameters of approx. 5 nm were obtained from strongly basic solutions. The morphology, structure and properties of as-synthesized nanoparticles were characterized using HRTEM, XRD, Raman spectroscopy, UV–vis, PL spectroscopy and BET measurements. The formation of both, the monoclinic and the cubic polymorph, was confirmed by electron microscopy and Raman spectroscopy. The crystallinity and morphology of the resulting ZrO2 nanoparticles can be adjusted by the choice of the reaction conditions. The cubic ZrO2 nanoparticles have a high surface area (300 m2/g) and exhibit a strong photoluminescence in the UV region.  相似文献

Direct electron transfer (DET) reactions of recombinant tobacco peroxidase (rTOP), namely direct electroreduction of Compound I/Compound II and heme Fe3+/2+ conversion, were studied on gold electrodes. rTOP of wild type, non-glycosylated, was produced using an Escherichia coli expression system. At pH 5.0, the redox potential for direct electrochemical transformation of the Fe3+/2+ of the peroxidase heme was −143 mV vs. AgAgCl, and 0.26 ± 0.07 pmol of the adsorbed rTOP were in DET contact with the gold electrode. The total amount of the adsorbed rTOP estimated from QCM data was 53 ± 5 pmol/cm2 or 1.67 pmol when referred to the surface area of the electrodes used for electrochemical measurements. Of 1.67 pmol of adsorbed rTOP, only 0.76 pmol were catalytically active. DET between Au and the enzyme was also studied in the reaction of the bioelectrocatalytic reduction of H2O2 by cyclic voltammetry and amperometric detection of H2O2 at +50 mV with rTOP-modified Au electrodes placed in a wall-jet flow-through electrochemical cell. Maximal bioelectrocatalytic current response of the rTOP-modified gold electrodes to H2O2 was observed at pH 5.0 and stemmed from its bioelectrocatalytic reduction based on DET between Au and the active site of rTOP. Kinetic analysis of the DET reactions gave 52% of the adsorbed rTOP molecules active in DET reactions (0.4 pmol of adsorbed catalytically active rTOP, correspondingly), which correlated well with the non-catalytic-voltammetry data. DET was characterised by a heterogeneous ET rate constant of 13.2 s−1, if one takes into account the QCM data, and 19.6 s−1, if the amount of rTOP estimated from the data on DET transformation of Fe3+/2+ couple of rTOP is considered. The sensitivity for H2O2 obtained for the rTOP-modified Au electrodes was 0.7 ± 0.1 A M−1 cm−2. These are the first ever-reported data on DET reactions of anionic plant peroxidases on bare gold electrodes.  相似文献

Fullerenes are soccer ball-shaped molecules composed of carbon atoms, and, when derivatized with functional groups, they become soluble and can act as photosensitizers. Antimicrobial photodynamic therapy combines a nontoxic photosensitizer with harmless visible light to generate reactive oxygen species that kill microbial cells. We have compared the antimicrobial activity of six functionalized C(60) compounds with one, two, or three hydrophilic or cationic groups in combination with white light against gram-positive bacteria, gram-negative bacteria, and fungi. After a 10 min incubation, the bis- and tris-cationic fullerenes were highly active in killing all tested microbes (4-6 logs) under conditions in which mammalian cells were comparatively unharmed. These compounds performed significantly better than a widely used antimicrobial photosensitizer, toluidine blue O. The high selectivity and efficacy exhibited by these photosensitizers encourage further testing for antimicrobial applications.  相似文献
