Structure - Function Relationship of Extensin - Like Cotton Proteins

The structure-function relationship of extensin-like proteins (ELP) of cotton is studied by molecular modeling. The antiproliferative activity of deglycosylated ELP on a cell culture of KML murine melanoma is shown to be more expressed than the activity of the ELP themselves.     

Structure of argentamine

Conclusions On the basis of chemical transformations and the UV, IR, and mass spectra of argentamine, isolated from the epigeal part ofAmmodendron argenteum O. Ktze, the structure of (—)-13-hydroxythermopsine has been proposed as the the most probable one for it. Dmerization of N-methylanabasine in the presence of Raney nickel

N-Methylanabasine undergoes dimerization in the presence of Raney nickel at 170–180°C to give 5,5-bis(1-methyl-2-piperidyl)-2,2-dipyridyl. Oxidation of the latter gives 6,6-bis(nicotinic acid).Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 9, pp. 1224–1225, September, 1978.     

Some papaverine derivatives

Heating papaverine with chloral hydrate and benzoyl chloride formed products of the replacement of the hydrogen at the 15-C atom of papaverine: 15-(β-trichloro-α-hydroxyethyl)papaverine and 15-benzoylpapaverine. In reactions with monochloro- and trichloroacetic acids under mild conditions in the cold, salts at the nitrogen atom were formed: the monochloroacetate and the trichloroacetate. The products were characterized by the results of TLC (type KSK silica gel fixed with gypsum), elementary analyses, and IR and PMR spectroscopy.     

Isomerization of the hydrochlorides of some alkaloids of the matrine series

Conclusions The conversions of sophoridane into allomatridine and matridine, of isosophoridane into allomatridine, and of isosophoridine into sophoridine have been effected. Cytisine derivatives containing a triple bond
