We propose a new approach for high-throughput continuous titration based on a flow ratiometry. The method was applied to potentiometric titrations of acids and bases. A base solution, the flow rate FB of which was varied in response to controller output voltage Vc, was merged with an acid solution under constant total (acid + base) flow rate. Downstream, the pH of the mixed solution was measured with a flow-through glass electrode. Initially, Vc, and thus FB was increased linearly. At the instant the equivalence point (EP) was sensed, the ramp direction of Vc was reversed from upward to downward. The direction was reversed to upward when EP was sensed again. Such the feedback-based operation gives a triangular waveform of Vc, because there is a delay corresponding mainly to the transit time of merged solutions to reach the sensor. The value of Vc that gives EP composition, VE, was estimated by averaging the most recent maximum and minimum values of Vc. Next, fixed triangular waves of Vc was used to control FB. The amplitude and the scan rate of the waves were fixed narrower and faster, respectively, than those in the feedback-based operation in order to improve the throughput rate. The EP can be located as long as the scan range covers VE. These automated processes limited the titration to just the narrow range around EP, and thus realized extremely high throughput rate of maximally 17.6 titrations per minute (=3.4 s per titration) at R.S.D. = 0.35%. 相似文献

The vertical ionization potentials of difluoramine are calculated by perturbation corrections to Koopmans' theorem. The calculation shows that difluoraimine has three overlapping bands between 15 and 16 eV. The calculated results compare well with the experimental values. By applying this reaction to polymerization, polyamides were synthesized by the ring-opening polyaddition reaction at 220°C. of 1,4-bis(imidazoline-2-yl)butane with adipic acid, succinic acid, sebacic acid, and terephthalic acid. The nano-kinetic movement of a single DNA molecule was observed and analyzed by a newly developed video-microscope system with an optical fiber, called a pin-fiber video scope. A single lambda-DNA molecule was put in focus using fiber-illumination, and the stretching and shrinking motion was measured. The molecule's kinetics were analyzed by numerical calculations and are discussed. A photocleavage phenomenon of DNA molecules was also visualized by the pin-fiber video scope. A diamagnetic particle with magnetic susceptibilities chi3 < chi2 = chi1 < 0 was subjected to a rotating magnetic field to obtain an alignment of the chi3 axis (the smallest susceptibility axis) in the direction perpendicular to the plane of the rotating magnetic field. A polymer short fiber, whose fiber axis coincides with the chi3 axis, was suspended in a fluid with the same density, and then a rotating magnetic field generated by a rotation of a pair of permanent magnets was applied. The fiber axis, rotating following the applied field, finally ended up with an alignment perpendicular to the plane of the rotating magnetic field. A general way for drawing the state correlation diagram and seeking the reaction path is presented. If a high-symmetry reacting system is given, its least-motion path that maintains the symmetry is primarily examined. For a given state, it is judged whether the least-motion path is symmetry allowed or forbidden. If allowed, it is called the direct process. If forbidden, the symmetry imposed on the system should be relaxed, resulting in the mixing of MO 's. Then, the energy barrier of the avoided crossing for some excited states is removed and the possible reaction path is found. After this procedure, the symmetry-allowed paths may be sought by the geometry optimization with a suitable wave function. By the use of such a procedure, the dissociation of diazomethane and (3H-)diazirine is found to proceed via the Cs and C2 symmetries. 相似文献

An epoxy-group-containing polymer chain was grafted onto the hollow-fiber form of a porous polyethylene membrane by the immersion of the electron beam-irradiated trunk polymer in glycidyl methacrylate diluted with methanol and 1-butanol. The epoxy group density ranged from 8.5 to 13.4 mol per kg of the trunk polymer. Subsequently, the epoxy groups produced were converted into sulfonic acid and diethylamino groups. The density of -SOH and -N(C2H5), groups was 0.40 and 2.2 mol per kg of the product. respectively. The polymer brush, defined as a polymer chain extending from the surface of a pore toward the interior of the pore, was evaluated from the determination of an equilibrium binding capacity of hen egg lysozyme (HEL) and bovine serum albumin (BSA). The polymer brush prepared in 1-butanol was found to be longer than that prepared in methanol from the determinations of liquid permeability and protein adsorptivity. The proteins were bound to the polymer brush prepared in 1-butanol, followed by the functionalization, at higher degrees of multilayer binding: about 30 for HEL and 6 for BSA. 相似文献

The effects of cation symmetry and packing on the mixed-valence state of binuclear ferrocene derivatives are discussed separately by using chiral isomers and racemic modification of 1',1' "-bis(2-phenylbutyl)-1,1' '-biferrocenium pentaiodide. The pentaiodide anion has a polymeric structure and is composed of triiodide anion and iodine molecule units. The (R,S) isomer having an inversion center shows a detrapped-valence state even at 78 K. On the other hand, the (R,R) and the (S,S) isomers having no inversion center show a trapped-valence state at room temperature. The racemic modification, however, consisting of the (R,R) and the (S,S) isomers shows a perfect detrapped-valence state at room temperature. This finding shows that the packing effect overcomes the effect of cation asymmetry. 相似文献
