Synthetic methods for the preparation of 2′-deoxyguanosine-C8 (dG-C8) adducts with several mutagenic and carcinogenic amino- or nitro-arenes were developed using the palladium-mediated cross-coupling reaction of protected 8-amino-dG with bromoarenes in around 80% yields, followed by conventional deprotection procedures. [structures: see text] 5,5'-(m-Phenylene)bis[(10-aryl-5,10-dihydrophenazine) dications, 3a2+ and 3b2+, and their p-analogues 4a2+ and 4b2+, were prepared, and their exchange interaction was investigated. The EPR spectra of these dications at 123 K in a butyronitrile matrix showed the population of a triplet state. The temperature dependence of the EPR signal intensity (absolute value(delta m(s)) = 2) showed that these dications had singlet ground states with deltaE(ST)/k(B) = -27 to -21 K for the m-isomer 3(2+) and with deltaE(ST)/k(B) = -10 to -8 K for the p-isomer 4(2+). Theoretical calculation of the exchange interaction J for these dications at the orthogonal torsion angle geometries was carried out for 3a2+ and 4a2+ and for (m- and p-phenylene)bisphenothiazine dications 1(2+) and 2(2+) using the broken-symmetry approach for the singlet states. A good correlation was observed between the calculated J and a MO-energy term in the triplet state, deltaE(TMO) = absolute value(HOMO(alpha) - (HOMO - 1)(alpha)). The calculated J values were negative in the order of 10 K for the m-dications (J/k(B) = -14.7 K for 1(2+), -11.5 K for 3a(2+)), but much smaller negative values were found for the p-isomers (J/k(B) = -0.9 K for 2(2+), -0.8 K for 4a2+). The smaller absolute value(J) values for the p-dications are qualitatively consistent with the experimental deltaE(ST) (2J) values. 相似文献

Various topological phase diagrams of blends of main-chain liquid crystalline polymer (MCLCP) and flexible polymer have been established theoretically in the framework of Matsuyama–Kato theory by combining Flory–Huggins (FH) free energy for isotropic mixing, Maier–Saupe (MS) free energy for nematic ordering in the constituent MCLCP, and free energy pertaining to polymer chain-rigidity. As a scouting study, various phase diagrams of binary flexible polymer blends have been solved self-consistently that reveal a combined lower critical solution temperature (LCST) and upper critical solution temperature (UCST), including an hourglass phase diagram. The calculated phase diagrams exhibit liquidus and solidus lines along with a nematic–isotropic (NI) transition of the constituent MCLCP. Depending on the strengths of the FH interaction parameters and the anisotropic (nematic–nematic) interaction parameters, the self-consistent solution reveals an hourglass type phase diagram overlapping with the NI transition of the constituent MCLCP. Subsequently, thermodynamic parameters estimated from the phase diagrams hitherto established have been employed in the numerical computation to elucidate phase separation dynamics and morphology evolution accompanying thermal-quench induced phase separation of the MCLCP/polymer mixture. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The hexaazaphenalenyl anion (HAP, 3-), a highly symmetric heterocyclic pi system, has been synthesized and characterized. The crystal structures of its potassium salt K+.3- and copper complex Cu2+.(NH3)4.(3-)2 show pi-pi stacking and radially extended hydrogen bonds as well as coordination bonds constructed by the HAP anion. Conformational change in an isolated single synthetic polymer chain on a mica surface observed by atomic force microscopy 总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
The random coil conformation of an isolated conventional synthetic polymer chain was clearly imaged by atomic force microscopy (AFM). The sample used was a poly(styrene)-block-poly(methyl methacrylate) diblock copolymer. A very dilute solution of the copolymer with benzene was spread on a water surface. The structure thus formed on water was subsequently transferred and deposited onto mica at various surface pressures and observed under AFM. The AFM images obtained with films deposited at a low surface pressure (<0.1 mN/m) showed a single polystyrene (PS) block chain aggregated into a single PS particle with a single poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) block chain emanating from the particle. Immediately after the deposition, the single PMMA block chain aggregated to form a condensed monolayer around the polystyrene particles. However, after exposing the deposited film to highly humid air for 1 day, the PMMA chains spread out so that the single PMMA block chain could be identified as a random coil on the substrate. The thin water layer formed on the mica substrate in humid air may enable the PMMA block chain to be mobilized on the substrate, leading to the conformational rearrangement from the condensed monolayer conformation to an expanded and elongated coil. The elongation of the PMMA chain was highly sensitive to the humidity; the maximum elongation was obtained at 79% relative humidity. The elongation was a slow process and took about 20 h. 相似文献

The phenalenyl radical (1) is a prototype of the hydrocarbon radical. Recently, the single crystal of 2,5,8-tri-tert-butylphenalenyl (2) was isolated and showed that the two phenalenyl radicals form a staggered dimeric pair, giving rise to strong antiferromagnetic interactions. The origin of the antiferromagnetic interactions and the nature of the chemical bond for the dimeric pair are challenging issues for chemists. First, spin-polarized hybrid DFT (Becke's half and half LYP (UB2LYP)) and CASSCF calculations were performed for 2 and its simplified model, the staggered-stacking phenalenyl radical dimeric pair (3a), to elucidate the origin of the strong antiferromagnetic coupling and the characteristics of the chemical bond. The calculated results showed that a SOMO-SOMO overlap effect was responsible for the strong antiferromagnetic interactions and weak or intermediate covalent bonding between phenalenyl radicals. The tert-butyl groups introduced at three beta-positions hardly affected the magnetic coupling, mainly causing steric hindrances in the crystalline state. Next, to obtain insight into ferromagnetic stacking, we investigated the stacking effect of staggered (3a)- and eclipsed (3b)-stacking phenalenyl radical dimeric pairs with a change of the SOMO-SOMO overlap on the basis of the extended McConnell model. We found that the stacking mode of the dimeric pair with both a small SOMO-SOMO overlap and a ferromagnetic spin polarization effect provided a ferromagnetic coupling. 相似文献
