High‐sensitivity ultraviolet (UV) photodetection has been attempted by utilizing the carrier multiplication effect in amorphous selenium. The prototype photodetector presented in this Letter showed an extremely high sensitivity to UV light, so that up to 1000 carriers are generated per incident photon. This result should lead to the development of an ultrahigh‐sensitivity photodetector that can be used for spectrometric applications covering the visible to UV region. The 351.1 nm photoelectron spectra of the N-methyl-5-pyrazolide anion and the N-methyl-5-imidazolide anion are reported. The photoelectron spectra of both isomers display extended vibrational progressions in the X2A' ground states of the corresponding radicals that are well reproduced by Franck-Condon simulations, based on the results of B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) calculations. The electron affinities of the N-methyl-5-pyrazolyl radical and the N-methyl-5-imidazolyl radical are 2.054 +/- 0.006 eV and 1.987 +/- 0.008 eV, respectively. Broad vibronic features of the A(2)A' ' states are also observed in the spectra. The gas-phase acidities of N-methylpyrazole and N-methylimidazole are determined from measurements of proton-transfer rate constants using a flowing afterglow-selected ion flow tube instrument. The acidity of N-methylpyrazole is measured to be Delta(acid)G(298) = 376.9 +/- 0.7 kcal mol(-1) and Delta(acid)H(298) = 384.0 +/- 0.7 kcal mol(-1), whereas the acidity of N-methylimidazole is determined to be Delta(acid)G(298) = 380.2 +/- 1.0 kcal mol(-1) and Delta(acid)H(298)= 388.1 +/- 1.0 kcal mol(-1). The gas-phase acidities are combined with the electron affinities in a negative ion thermochemical cycle to determine the C5-H bond dissociation energies, D(0)(C5-H, N-methylpyrazole) = 116.4 +/- 0.7 kcal mol(-1) and D(0)(C5-H, N-methylimidazole) = 119.0 +/- 1.0 kcal mol(-1). The bond strengths reported here are consistent with previously reported bond strengths of pyrazole and imidazole; however, the error bars are significantly reduced.  相似文献

A new method for the hydrolysis of diazonium salts, without the formation of tar, was developed. A two‐phase system consisting of cyclopentyl methyl ether (CPME) and water is very effective for the hydrolysis of diazonium salts. Using this solvent system, the diazonium salt prepared from 3‐(4‐nitrophenoxy)aniline gave 3‐(4‐nitrophenoxy)phenol in high yield (96%) within 20 min. The synthesized phenol is an industrially important raw material in polymer syntheses. Furthermore, the use of the present two‐phase system of CPME and water successfully brought about the efficient conversions of several m‐substituted anilines into the corresponding m‐substituted phenols. This is the first example of hydrolysis of diazonium salts using the two‐phase system (CPME and water).  相似文献

The diastereoisomeric distribution of S-3-(hexan-1-ol)cysteine (P-3SH), the cysteinylated precursor of 3-sulfanylhexan-1-ol (3SH) in Vitis vinifera grape juice, was determined by a new method. This procedure is based on the purification of P-3SH in a small volume of must (500 microL) by affinity chromatography, followed by the separation of chiral molecules in derivative forms by gas chromatography coupled with ion trap tandem mass spectrometry (GC-MS/MS). The diastereoisomers were easily separated using heptafluorobutyric anhydride and heptafluorobutanol (HFBA and HFOH) as derivatization reagents. Method validation was conducted using samples of grape juice, synthetic must, fermenting must, and wine that were fortified with P-3SH at concentrations of 0.6 and 2.5 microM. The relative standard deviation (RSD) and limit of detection (LOD) of the GC-MS/MS method were 4.6% and 1.5 nM, respectively. P-3SH assays in Bordeaux white grape juice affected by Botrytis cinerea showed an unusually increased proportion of the RS form of the precursor (approximately RR:RS=30:70) as compared to a diastereoisomer ratio (in the vicinity of 50:50) in healthy grape juice.  相似文献

Here, we report a novel, programmable, molecular self-assembling system to fabricate shape-specific, three-dimensional nanoarchitectures. Three types of simple 16-mer peptides consisting of hydrophobic Leu and hydrophilic Lys, LKL16, KLK16, and LK16, were prepared as building blocks for nanofabrications. A detailed analysis of the conformation and self-assembling mechanism was performed by using circular dichroism (CD), FTIR spectroscopy, and atomic force microscopy (AFM). A wide variety of self-assembled nanoarchitectures, such as beta-sheet-plates, beta-sheet-fibers, alpha-helix-particles, and alpha-helix-plates, could be fabricated by tuning the peptide sequence, reaction time, and solution pH. The ability to control the self-assembled nanostructures should provide a simple and/or essential insight into the mechanism of peptide aggregation, including amyloid formation, and it should be useful for the design of novel bio-related nanomaterials.  相似文献

A combination of experimental methods, photoelectron-imaging spectroscopy, flowing afterglow-photoelectron spectroscopy and the flowing afterglow-selected ion flow tube technique, and electronic structure calculations at the B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) level of density functional theory (DFT) have been employed to study the mechanism of the reaction of the hydroxide ion (HO-) with 1H-1,2,3-triazole. Four different product ion species have been identified experimentally, and the DFT calculations suggest that deprotonation by HO- at all sites of the triazole takes place to yield these products. Deprotonation of 1H-1,2,3-triazole at the N1-H site gives the major product ion, the 1,2,3-triazolide ion. The 335 nm photoelectron-imaging spectrum of the ion has been measured. The electron affinity (EA) of the 1,2,3-triazolyl radical has been determined to be 3.447 +/- 0.004 eV. This EA and the gas-phase acidity of 2H-1,2,3-triazole are combined in a negative ion thermochemical cycle to determine the N-H bond dissociation energy of 2H-1,2,3-triazole to be 112.2 +/- 0.6 kcal mol-1. The 363.8 nm photoelectron spectroscopic measurements have identified the other three product ions. Deprotonation of 1H-1,2,3-triazole at the C5 position initiates fragmentation of the ring structure to yield a minor product, the ketenimine anion. Another minor product, the iminodiazomethyl anion, is generated by deprotonation of 1H-1,2,3-triazole at the C4 position, followed by N1-N2 bond fission. Formation of the other minor product, the 2H-1,2,3-triazol-4-ide ion, can be rationalized by initial deprotonation of 1H-1,2,3-triazole at the N1-H site and subsequent proton exchanges within the ion-molecule complex. The EA of the 2H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl radical is 1.865 +/- 0.004 eV.  相似文献

New 2‐pyrone derivatives, dialkyl 3‐cyano‐6‐phenyl‐2‐oxo‐2H‐pyran‐4‐ylmalonates and alkyl 3‐cyano‐6‐phenyl‐2‐oxo‐2H‐pyran‐4‐ylacetates, which were easily prepared by the reaction of 6‐aryl‐4‐methyl‐sulfanyl‐2‐oxo‐2H‐pyran‐3‐carbonitriles with active methylene compounds in the presence of potassium carbonate, show fluorescence emission radiation. The light‐emitting region of dimethyl 3‐cyano‐6‐(4‐N,N‐dimethylamino)styryl‐2‐oxo‐2H‐pyran‐4‐ylmalonate ( 7h ) was 620 nm in dichloromethane, making this compound a typical red fluorescent compound. Methyl 8‐hydroxy‐6‐methyl‐1‐oxo‐3‐phenyl‐1H‐pyrano‐[3,4‐c]pyridine‐5‐carboxylate deriv‐atives also showed fluorescence in the solid state. This is the first example of fluorescence in fused 2‐pyrone derivatives.  相似文献

The photoelectron spectrum of the oxyallyl (OXA) radical anion has been measured. The radical anion has been generated in the reaction of the atomic oxygen radical anion (O(?-)) with acetone. Three low-lying electronic states of OXA have been observed in the spectrum. Electronic structure calculations have been performed for the triplet states ((3)B(2) and (3)B(1)) of OXA and the ground doublet state ((2)A(2)) of the radical anion using density functional theory (DFT). Spectral simulations have been carried out for the triplet states based on the results of the DFT calculations. The simulation identifies a vibrational progression of the CCC bending mode of the (3)B(2) state of OXA in the lower electron binding energy (eBE) portion of the spectrum. On top of the (3)B(2) feature, however, the experimental spectrum exhibits additional photoelectron peaks whose angular distribution is distinct from that for the vibronic peaks of the (3)B(2) state. Complete active space self-consistent field (CASSCF) method and second-order perturbation theory based on the CASSCF wave function (CASPT2) have been employed to study the lowest singlet state ((1)A(1)) of OXA. The simulation based on the results of these electronic structure calculations establishes that the overlapping peaks represent the vibrational ground level of the (1)A(1) state and its vibrational progression of the CO stretching mode. The (1)A(1) state is the lowest electronic state of OXA, and the electron affinity (EA) of OXA is 1.940 ± 0.010 eV. The (3)B(2) state is the first excited state with an electronic term energy of 55 ± 2 meV. The widths of the vibronic peaks of the X? (1)A(1) state are much broader than those of the a? (3)B(2) state, implying that the (1)A(1) state is indeed a transition state. The CASSCF and CASPT2 calculations suggest that the (1)A(1) state is at a potential maximum along the nuclear coordinate representing disrotatory motion of the two methylene groups, which leads to three-membered-ring formation, i.e., cyclopropanone. The simulation of b? (3)B(1) OXA reproduces the higher eBE portion of the spectrum very well. The term energy of the (3)B(1) state is 0.883 ± 0.012 eV. Photoelectron spectroscopic measurements have also been conducted for the other ion products of the O(?-) reaction with acetone. The photoelectron imaging spectrum of the acetylcarbene (AC) radical anion exhibits a broad, structureless feature, which is assigned to the X? (3)A' state of AC. The ground ((2)A') and first excited ((2)A') states of the 1-methylvinoxy (1-MVO) radical have been observed in the photoelectron spectrum of the 1-MVO ion, and their vibronic structure has been analyzed.  相似文献

Nanopowder of a new tin(II) titanium(IV) oxide hydroxide fluoride, Sn1.24Ti1.94O3.66(OH)1.50F1.42 with the pyrochlore-type structure (cubic a = 10.3777(7) Å, space group Fd-3m) was prepared by using a microwave-assisted solvothermal reaction. The grain size of the nanopowder was 20–30 nm in diameter. Sn1.24Ti1.94O3.66(OH)1.50F1.42 decomposed above 300 °C, but could be sintered to relative density greater than 99% by a hydrothermal hot-pressing (HHP) method at 270 °C and 80 MPa for 4 h. The synthesized powder and solidified body obtained using HHP showed significantly different color, probably due to the difference in water content.  相似文献

PHOTOTROPIN2 (PHOT2) is a unique photoreceptor involved in chloroplast avoidance movement and also regulates blue light (BL) responses, such as phototropism and leaf flattening, together with PHOTOTROPIN1 (PHOT1) in Arabidopsis thaliana . Previous work showed that the defect of the phot2-1 mutant in chloroplast avoidance movement was a semidominant trait. In the present study, we examined PHOT2 dose dependency of BL responses using the phot1-5 phot2-1 double mutant expressing an AtPHOT2-GFP (P2G) fusion protein. Chloroplast avoidance and phototropic responses of P2G transgenic lines were enhanced in a manner dependent on the P2G levels, whereas the leaf flattening phenotype was simply complemented by P2G equivalent to the wild type (WT) PHOT2 level. The chloroplast avoidance velocity of P2G transgenic lines exhibited enhanced sensitivity to BL in comparison with WT. In contrast, the defect of the phototropic response was rescued by P2G expression equivalent only to the response of the phot1 mutant. These results collectively indicate that each BL response has distinct threshold levels of PHOT2 requirement.  相似文献
