Searching for “intelligence” : Azurin–PNIPAM conjugates were prepared by site‐directed mutagenesis followed by protein reconstitution by using imidazole‐conjugated poly(N‐isopropylacrylamides). The polymer‐bound imidazole acts as a ligand in the active site of the blue copper protein azurin. The bioconjugates showed thermosensitive behavior in electron‐transfer processes with reduced cytochrome c.

There has been much interest in cost-free improvements to second-order M?ller-Plesset perturbation theory (MP2) via scaling the same- and opposite-spin components of the correlation energy (spin-component scaled MP2). By scaling the same- and opposite-spin components of the double excitation correlation energy from the coupled-cluster of single and double excitations (CCSD) method, similar improvements can be achieved. Optimized for a set of 48 reaction energies, scaling factors were determined to be 1.13 and 1.27 for the same- and opposite-spin components, respectively. Preliminary results suggest that the spin-component scaled CCSD (SCS-CCSD) method will outperform all MP2 type methods considered for describing intermolecular interactions. Potential energy curves computed with the SCS-CCSD method for the sandwich benzene dimer and methane dimer reproduce the benchmark CCSD(T) potential curves with errors of only a few hundredths of 1 kcal mol(-1) for the minima. The performance of the SCS-CCSD method suggests that it is a reliable, lower cost alternative to the CCSD(T) method.  相似文献

A set of 1,3-propanediamine derivatives connected to carbohydrates (5) has been prepared in four steps from peracetylated sugar and 1,3-dibromo-2-propanol in 60-73% yields. D-Glucose, D-mannose, D-galactose, D-xylose, D-ribose, and maltose are utilized as sugar molecules in this work. The diamine moiety was connected to the C1 carbon of the glycopyranose ring via an O-glycoside bond. All of the anomeric configurations and sugar puckering conformations, except in the D-maltose derivative, were determined by X-ray crystallography of the diazido or dibromo precursors. While glycosidation of peracetylated galactopyranose with 1,3-dibromo-2-propanol in the presence of boron trifluoride afforded both anomers, the neighboring group participation of the 2-acetoxy group yielded a single anomer for the other substrates. This method has been used to synthesize a library of sugar-pendant diamines including an OH-protected derivative (6), and an N,N'-diisopropyl-substituted derivative (7). A similar series of reactions using 2,3-dibromo-1-propanol gave ethylenediamine-type derivatives (11), and bis(bromomethyl)bis(hydroxymethyl)methane (12) gave bisglucose-pendant derivatives (16).  相似文献
