Nanoprobe chemistry offers a promising approach for the construction of nanostructures consisting of organic molecules by employing the tip of a scanning probe microscope. In a previous report, we demonstrated that a nitroso-terminated surface on an organosilane self-assembled monolayer could be converted into an amino-terminated surface by applying such a nanoprobe electrochemical technique. This paper reports on surface-potential reversibility originating from a reversible chemical reaction between amino and nitroso groups. In addition, we demonstrate surface-potential memory based on this chemical reversibility. Amino-terminated SAMs were prepared from p-aminophenyl-trimethoxysilane through chemical vapor deposition. Surface potentials were acquired by Kelvin force microscopy. When scanning probe lithography was conducted with a gold tip at positive-bias voltages, the surface potential of the scanned area shifted dramatically in the negative direction. Scanning with negative-bias voltages led to positive shift in the surface potential of the scanned area. The surface potential could be recovered even after multiple scannings with positive and negative applied bias voltages. On the basis of this discovery, we also succeeded in demonstrating surface-potential memory via our nanoprobe electrochemical technique.  相似文献

Hetero-biaryl compounds were prepared via the Suzuki-Miyaura coupling reaction of hetero-aryl moieties containing an unprotected NH2 group and arylboronic acids. Utilizing a supersonic molecular-beam scattering technique, the angular intensity distributions of alkane molecules (CH4 and C2H6) have been measured, which are scattered from a chemically inert and highly oriented monolayer graphite (MG) on Pt(111). A MG which covers the Pt(111) surface with a full monolayer is found to induce a large energy loss of alkanes during collision with the surface by phonon creation due to the large mass ratio of an alkane molecule with respect to MG. Based on the classical cube model, only applicable to the molecules without internal mode excitation, the effective masses of MG of 76 (six atoms of carbon) and Pt(111) of 585 (three atoms of platinum) are determined from rare-gas atom scattering data. Despite the difference in the degree of freedom between CH4 and rare-gas atoms, CH4 scattering is found to be well described by the simple hard-cube model as a result of the high symmetry of the CH4 structure. With the recently developed ellipsoid-washboard model, an extension of the hard-cube model to include some internal mode excitation of impinging molecules in addition to the surface corrugation, it is found that unlike CH4 the cartwheel rotation mode of C2H6 is significantly excited during collision, while the helicopter mode excitation is negligible on a flat MG surface.  相似文献

Annealing of poly(butylene terephthalate) (PBT) was studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and small angle X‐ray scattering (SAXS) measurement. A PBT sample was annealed at a recrystallization temperature where recrystallization occurs with a maximum rate in the heating process of the sample. In the subsequent annealing steps, the annealed sample was annealed repeatedly at the recrystallization temperatures, and the stepwise annealing sample was obtained. Peak melting temperature (Tm) and sharpness of DSC peak of the stepwise annealing sample increased with the annealing step. A high melting‐temperature sample was obtained in a short time, and Tm increased up to 238.5°C which is higher than all the Tm values that appear in the literature. The long period calculated from SAXS curves of the stepwise annealing sample increased with the annealing step. The increase of crystallite size and perfection of the crystal in the stepwise annealing process is suggested. Annealing experiment indicated that T°m should be higher than about 235°C. Tm increased linearly with the annealing temperature of the final step in the stepwise annealing (Ta). The equilibrium melting temperature (T°m) for PBT was estimated to be 247°C by the application of a Hoffman–Weeks plot to the relation between Tm vs. Ta. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Aliphatic polyimides containing adamantyl units (APIs) were prepared by the poly(addition/condensation) of a dianhydride bicyclo[2.2.2]octane-2,3,5,6-tetracarboxylic 2,3 : 5,6-dianhydride with a rigid diamine, 1,3-diaminoadamantane or 3,3′-diamino-1,1′-biadamantyl, and a flexible diamine, 4,4′-methylenebis(cyclohexylamine) or 1,4-cyclohexanediamine. One-step polymerizations were conducted at 80–200°C in m-cresol, producing APIs with inherent viscosities up to 0.53 dL g−1. These APIs are soluble in haloalkanes, m-cresol, and sulfuric acid and show high thermal stability and excellent transparency. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films consisting of the hybrid of a polymer having the azobenzene (Az) side chain and 4î-pentyl-4-cyanobiphenyl (5CB) are prepared. Microscopic observations and spectroscopic data both indicate that the Az side chain and 5CB are homogeneously mixed at a molecular level without phase separation in the layer. This provides a satisfactory model of the command surface system. Time course accumulation of spectroscopic data for multilayered hybrid films reveals the cooperative nature of the photo-motivated molecular motions.  相似文献

Oxopropyl E-(pyrrolidine-2-ylidene)glycinamide (5c) and allyl E-(pyrrolidine-2-ylidene)glycinate (5d) were effectively synthesized from 2,3,5-tri-O-benzyl-4-O-tert-butyldimethylsilyl(TBDMS)-D-arabinal (7) using intramolecular 1,3-dipolar cyclic reaction of azide and olefin as a key reaction. These results proved this cyclic reaction should be applicable for the synthesis of various (pyrrolidine-2-ylidene)glycinate and glycinamide. In addition, the development of a synthetic route for the precursor of an unsaturated cyclic dehydro amino acid involved in azinomycins (carzinophilin) using relating glycinate, methyl E-(pyrrolidine-2-ylidene)glycinate (5a) was described.  相似文献

The effect of charge-inverting modification of single surface lysine residue on the electron transfer (ET) reaction of horse heart cytochrome c (cyt c) is examined for 12 different types of mono-4-chloro-2,5-dinitrobenzoic acid substituted cyt c (mCDNPc) adsorbed on a Au(111) electrode modified with a self-assembled monolayer (SAM) of 7-mercapto-heptanoic acid (MHA). A negative shift in the redox potential by 10-35 mV as compared to that of native cyt c and a monolayer coverage in the range of 13-17 pmol cm(-2) are observed for electroactive mCDNPc's. The magnitude of the decrease in the ET rate constant (k(et)) of mCDNPc's compared with that of native cyt c depends on the position of the CDNP substitution. For mCDNPc's in which the modified lysine residue is outside of the interaction domain of cyt c with the SAM, the ratio of the k(et) of mCDNPc to that of native cyt c is correlated to the change in the dipole moment vector of cyt c due to the CDNP modification. This correlation suggests that the dipole moment of cyt c determines its orientation of adsorption on the SAM of MHA and significantly affects the rate of the ET. The CDNP modification of lysine residues at the interaction domain significantly decreases the rate, demonstrating the importance of the local charge environment in determining the rate of ET.  相似文献
