Many-particle rapidity correlations have been studied for αα,dd, andpp interactions at the CERN Intersecting Storage Rings using the Split-Field Magnet detector, and basing the investigating on the distributions of rapidity gaps between particles. In the framework of a simple cluster model, it is found that all the data samples have similar features and that the events contain clusters of two different types.  相似文献

Exposure of aqueous glassy solutions of t-butyl alcohol to 60Co γ-rays at 77°K gave ESR spectra characteristic of Me3Ċ, and H2ĊC(Me)2OH radicals. The results for the former were unusual in that, for very dilute aqueous solutions and for solutions of 0.4 mole fraction through to the pure alcohol, all the Me3Ċ radicals were apparently freely rotating, whilst for solutions in the mole fraction region 0.05 to 0.4, some or all of these radicals were stationary. The electric quadrupole coupling constants eqQ/h of 20Na (I π = 2+, T 1/2 = 449.7 ms), 21Na (I π = 3/2, T 1/2 = 22.49 s) and 25Na (I π = 5/2, T 1/2 = 59.6 s) in single crystal ZnO and TiO2 were precisely measured by applying the β-NMR technique. The ratio of the quadrupole moments between 20Na (25Na) and 21Na was determined to be 0.728 ± 0.023 (0.011 ± 0.002).  相似文献

ESR spectroscopy is a powerful tool for detecting radicals or radical-ions trapped in solids, and in many cases “primary” electron-gain and-loss centres can be identified and their structures elucidated. Sometimes these primary centres are trapped in pairs, separated byca. 5 to 15 Å giving triplet state ESR spectra. The significance of pair-trapping in relation to current theories for the action of ionizing radiation will be discussed with reference to several recent examples. Generally, the primary centres are well separated and ESR does not give useful information about spurs or local regions of high radical densities. Reasons for trapping will be summarized with specific reference to DNA and proteins. The question of electron-return will be discussed, and several examples of this will be reported.  相似文献
