First acetylenic derivatives of stable 3-imidazoline nitroxides

The Stephens-Castro reaction of copper(I) salts of 1-aryl(hetaryl)alkynes with 2,2,5,5-tetramethyl-4-[2-(4-iodophenyl)-vinyl]imidazoline-3-oxide-1-ol proved to be a general method for the preparation of 2,2,5,5-tetramethyl-4-[2-(p-aryl(hetaryl)ethynylphenyl)]vinyl-3-imidazoline-3-oxide-1-oxyles.     

The evaluation of the eighth moment for benzenoid graphs

Summary The evaluation of the eighth moment of the adjacency matrix of benzenoid graphs is considered. It is found that the eighth moment can be expressed in terms of 7 graphical invariants. By this we extend the recently obtained results of Hall [1] and Dias [2].     

A new route to atactic polypropylene: The second life of premetallocene homogeneous polymerization catalyst

Amorphous atactic polypropylene (PP) with an average molecular weight of 50,000–100,000 is produced by polymerizing propylene with a ternary Ti(Oiso‐Pr)₄ ‐ AlEt₂Cl/MgBu₂ catalyst at 30–50 °С. Main advantages of this catalyst compared with other catalysts capable of nearly exclusively producing atactic PP (such as some heterogeneous Ziegler‐Natta, metallocene and postmetallocene catalysts) are high activity, low cost and the ease of use: the catalyst is prepared in situ from three commercially available compounds readily soluble in aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Phosphorylation of Allyl Halides with White Phosphorus

White phosphorus reacts with allyl bromide in the system KOH-dioxane-H 2 O at room temperature to form tris(propen-2-yl), bis(propen-2-yl)(E-propen-1-yl), and bis(E-propen-1-yl)(propen-2-yl)phosphine oxides in a total quantitative yield, their molar ratio being 1:0.5:0.1.     

Turn‐On Luminescence Sensing and Real‐Time Detection of Traces of Water in Organic Solvents by a Flexible Metal–Organic Framework

The development of efficient sensors for the determination of the water content in organic solvents is highly desirable for a number of chemical industries. Presented herein is a Mg²⁺ metal–organic framework (MOF), which exhibits the remarkable capability to rapidly detect traces of water (0.05–5 % v/v) in various organic solvents through an unusual turn‐on luminescence sensing mechanism. The extraordinary sensitivity and fast response of this MOF for water, and its reusability make it one of the most powerful water sensors known.     

Organic Diselenides and Ditellurides: Disproportionations,Synthesis of Stannyl Selenides,Reactions with Acetylenes

The disproportionation reaction of organic diselenides 1 and ditellurides 2, the synthesis of stannyl selenides 4, and the addition reaction (palladium-catalyzed, thermal) of dialkyl diselenides to acetylenes are discussed.     

A facile one-pot highly chemo- and regioselective synthesis of the novel heterocyclic system indolo[1,2-c]azolo[1,5-a]quinazoline-8,10-dione

A series of novel indolo[1,2-c]azolo[1,5-a]quinazoline-8,10-diones was obtained by a multi-component reaction between cyclic 1,3-diketones, α-aminoazoles, and glyoxal. The unexpected cyclization process was established by NMR spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction measurements.
