Red-emitting lasers for display applications require high output powers and a high visibility. We demonstrate diode lasers and modules in the red spectral range based on AlGaInP with optical output powers up to 1 W and a nearly diffraction limited beam. These high-luminance light sources based on tapered lasers are well suited for laser TVs and projectors for virtual reality simulators based on the flying spot technology. Additionally, we developed diode lasers with internal distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) surface gratings. These DBR tapered lasers and master-oscillator power-amplifiers based on DBR ridge-waveguide lasers and tapered amplifiers feature high power, single mode emission with coherence lengths up to several meters, which are suitable for the next-generation 3D displays based on holography.  相似文献

We present the diode pumping of a Nd:ASL (Sr1-xLax-yNdyMgxAl12-xO19) crystal for second harmonic generation at 453 nm. We have developed a high-brightness pump source based on a tapered amplifier in an extended cavity with a volume Bragg grating for wavelength stabilization. A pump brightness of 110 MW cm-2 sr-1 is obtained with a linewidth lower than 80 pm at 798 nm. This laser source is used to pump a Nd:ASL crystal to obtain 300 mW at 906 nm and 53 mW at 453 nm by intracavity doubling with a LBO crystal. PACS  42.55.Xi; 42.55.Px; 42.65.Ky  相似文献

The wavelength stabilization of high-brightness extended-cavity lasers at 810-nm by the use of volume Bragg gratings is described. Narrow linewidth (<?20 pm), high power (2.5 W) and good beam quality (M2<4) operation has been obtained in a robust and simple design. The impact of the beam focusing into the Bragg grating on the external cavity performance has been theoretically and experimentally investigated. Finally, second-harmonic generation of the infrared beam has been obtained in a ppKTP crystal, demonstrating a non-linear conversion efficiency of 0.8%/W and up to 8 mW at 405 nm.  相似文献

A rather simple method of lead salt diode laser fabrication is described. The optimization of the diffusion process forming the pn-junction is especially discussed with regards to the various carrier concentrations of the as-grown crystals. Liquid nitrogen cooled lead salt diode lasers of the described type meet all demands of a laser based air pollution monitoring device.  相似文献

A dual‐wavelength monolithic Y‐branch distributed Bragg reflection (DBR) diode laser at 671 nm is presented. The device is realized with deeply etched surface DBR gratings by one‐step epitaxy. A maximum optical output power of 110 mW is obtained in cw‐operation for each laser cavity. The emission wavelengths of the device are 670.5 nm and 671.0 nm with a spectral width of 13 pm (0.3 cm−1) and a mean spectral distance of 0.46 nm (10.2 cm−1) over the whole operating range. Together with a free running power stability of ± 1.1% this most compact diode laser is ideally suited as an excitation light source for portable shifted excitation Raman difference spectroscopy (SERDS).  相似文献
