The growth of wireless communication continues. There is a demand for more user capacity from new subscribers and new services such as wireless internet. In order to meet these expectations new and improved technology must be developed. A way to increase the capacity of an existing mobile radio network is to exploit the spatial domain in an efficient way. An antenna array adds spatial domain selectivity in order to improve the Carrier-to-Interference ratio (C/I) as well as Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR). An adaptive antenna array can further improve the Carrier-to-Interference ratio (C/I) by suppressing interfering signals and steer a beam towards the user. The suggested scheme is a combination of a beamformer and an interference canceller.The proposed structure is a circular array consisting of K omni-directional elements and combines fixed beamforming with interference cancelling. The fixed beamformers use a weight matrix to form multiple beams. The interference cancelling stage suppresses undesired signals, leaking into the desired beam.The desired signal is filtered out by the fixed beamforming structure. Due to the side-lobes, interfering signals will also be present in this beam. Two alternative strategies were chosen to cancel these interferers; use the other beamformer outputs as inputs to an adaptive interference canceller; or regenerate the outputs from the other beamformer outputs and generate clean signals which are used as inputs to adaptive interference cancellers.Resulting beamformer patterns as well as interference cancellation simulation results are presented. Two different methods have been used to design the beamformer weights, Least Square (LS) and minimax optimisation. In the minimax optimisation a semi-infinite linear programming approach was used. Although the optimisation plays an essential role in the performance of the beamformer, this paper is focused on the application rather then the optimisation methods.  相似文献

The effects of a mobile laminar airflow unit on the concentration,deposition and distribution of bacteriacarrying particles in an operating room are investigated.The exploration is carried out using numerical calculation schemes(computational fluid dynamics approach).The model validation was performed through result comparisons with published measurement data from literature.Two types of mobile screen units were evaluated as an extension of turbulent-mixing operating-room ventilation.Airborne particle concentration/sedimentation was recorded with and without a screen unit on the operating table and two instrument tables.Both active and passive air sampling were examined and the results are compared.It was found that the additional mobile ultra-clean laminar airflow unit reduces the counts of airborne bacteria and surface contamination to a level acceptable for infection-prone surgeries.  相似文献

A new strategy for accessing analyte-responsive luminescent probes is presented. The lanthanide luminescence of Eu and Tb centers is switched on by the analyte-triggered formation of a sensitizing antenna from a nonsensitizing caged precursor. As the cage can be freely varied, an array of probes for different analytes (Pd(0/2+), H(2)O(2), F(-), β-galactosidase) can be created from the same core structure. The probe design affords nanomolar to micromolar detection limits, provides the capability to detect two analytes in parallel, and can be utilized to monitor enzymatic activity in live cells.  相似文献

This paper presents a new approach for the design of a set of orthogonal digital filters which can be used as message-carrying waveforms in orthogonality division multiple access (ODMA) communication systems. The filter set design problem is formulated as a constrained L 2 space optimization problem. For bandwidth efficiency, all the digital filters in the set are constrained to have approximately the same desired spectral shapes in a prescribed passband; To minimize intersymbol interference and co-channel interference, all the digital filters in the set are constrained to have low values of auto-correlation at nonzero translates of multiple symbol interval and low values of cross-correlation at all translates of multiple symbol interval. Methods for solving the proposed non-convex optimization problem are outlined. Numerical results are presented to illustrate the usefulness of the proposed method.  相似文献

Current theories of unimolecular reaction rates are based on the transition state method which replaces internal reactant dynamics by an assumption of internal equilibrium. The present work is devoted to the development of generalized transition state method which allows effects such as nonergodicity and non-exponential decay to be accounted for within a simple theoretical framework. The derivation is quantum mechanical and not limited by any weak perturbation assumption. An effective hamiltonian is constructed for the reactant dynamics. The loss of amplitude due to reaction is accounted for by a dissipative term in the hamiltonian which is obtained on a phenomenological basis. The diagonalization of the hamiltonian allows the decay of reactant state to be predicted. The decay information is then used to set up a non-markovian master equation which in turn yields the rate coefficient for the reaction. The accuracy of the method is tested in one-dimensional model calculations in which particular attention is paid to decay by quantum mechanical tunneling through a potential barrier.  相似文献

Trace analysis of 2,3,7,8-polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs), dibenzofurans (PCDFs) and the 12 WHO-PCBs (four non-ortho and eight mono-ortho congeners that have been assigned toxic equivalence factors, TEFs, by the World Health Organisation) was conducted by comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography with a micro electron-capture detector (GC x GC-microECD). Four food matrices (fish oil from herring, spiked cows' milk, vegetable oil and an eel extract) were analysed by two GC x GC laboratories, and four GC-HRMS laboratories generated reference values. The two GC x GC laboratories used different column combinations for separating the target analytes. For the first dimension, non-polar DB-XLB and VF-1 columns were used, and for the second dimension, an LC-50 liquid crystalline column with unique selectivity for planar compounds. The congener-specific and total toxic equivalence (TEQ) data obtained using DB-XLB x LC-50 were in good agreement with results obtained by the GC-HRMS laboratories. The WHO-PCB data obtained with the VF-1 x LC-50 combination was also good, but the PCDD/F concentrations were sometimes overestimated due to matrix interferences. GC x GC-microECD using DB-XLB x LC-50 seems to fulfil the European Community requirements of a screening method for PCDD/F and WHO-PCB TEQ in food.  相似文献
