In the course of investigations on equestrian supplemental products for the presence of doping substances, two products were found to contain forbidden substances. As reported earlier a plant extract (Mexican cactus extract) named “Energy 5” contained the anabolic androgenic steroids (AAS) stanozolol, 17β-hydroxy-17α-methyl-5α-androstane-3β-ol (3β,5α-THMT) as well as mestanolone not declared on the label. In the present study, a product called “Super Kalm Paste” was tested. Analysis by gas chromatography - mass spectrometry (GC-MS) revealed that the preparation contained the class I anti-arrhythmics quinine (trade names KinidinTM, Durules) and cinchonine. The samples were prepared according to a sample preparation procedure established for anabolic steroids in nutritional supplements for humans. The sample treatment comprised the extraction and purification of the analytes as well as the chemical conversion with N-methyl-N-trimethylsilyl-trifluoracetamide (MSTFA) to yield the trimethylsilyl (TMS)-derivatives. To verify whether the administration of such products could lead to positive doping tests, a pilot excretion study on “Energy 5” was conducted with two geldings, and urine samples were collected. Gas chromatography - high resolution mass spectrometry (GC-HRMS) after solid phase extraction and mixed derivatisation has demonstrated the presence of the stanozolol metabolite 16β-hydroxy-stanozolol in urine samples after “Energy 5” application. 相似文献

The reaction of [(C3Ph3)Ni(PPh3)2]ClO4 with P(CH2CH2PPh2)3(pp3) and NaBPh4 yields the [(C3Ph3)Ni(pp3)]BPh4-complex. After long exposure of the solution of this compound in acetone/butanol to the air a new derivative [(C3Ph3)-Ni(pp2po)]BPh4· 0.5 C4H9OH, where pp2po is (Ph2PCH2CH2)2P(CH2 CH2POPh2), is obtained. Complete X-ray analysis has been carried out for the latter complex: a=18.303 (5); b=29.445 (6), c=13.305 (5) Å, β=112.70 (9)°; space group monoclinic, P21/a, Z=4. Disorder problems were encountered in the refinement of the structure. The best R is 0.093. One of the arms of the parent pp3-molecule, not coordinated to the metal, undergoes oxidation. The Ni-atom, coordinated by the three remaining P-atoms of the ligand, is also linked in a roughly η3-mode to the cyclopropenium ligand. The geometry of the molecule is examined in detail. Extended HMO-calculations were performed to interpret how the variation of P? Ni? P angles affects the bonding between the NiP3- and C3H3-fragments. The conclusion is that the overall energy of the complex may be lowered in spite of a weakening of the Ni-cyclopropenium linkage. Summary Thermal properties of a homologous series of ferroelectric liquid crystals S-(-)-[4-(2-n-alkoxy-propionyloxy)]biphenyl-4'-[n-alkoxy-(3,5-dimethyl)]benzoate have been investigated by polarizing optical microscopy and differential scanning calorimetry.
The mesophases were identified and confirmed by X-ray too. Three binary mixtures were prepared from the individual homologues.
In one of the mixtures (Mix1), the ferroelectric SmC* phase has broadened and became enantiotropic. This mesophase remained
monotropic in the other two mixtures (Mix2, Mix3). The chiral nematic N* phase did not appear in Mix1, but remained monotropic
for the other two mixtures. Two molecular parameters, the layer spacing and the average intermolecular distance have been
calculated from the X-ray results for the homologues and their mixtures. An intercalated tail-to-tail packing of molecules
was found both in the single compounds and their mixtures resulting in the layer spacing about half of the molecular length

in various fields. The idea of Lab-on-a-Chip has significantly expanded and found its broad applications in analytical chemistry.
Microplasmas can act as a sample excitation source and are the miniaturized versions of full-sized plasmas. These can be created
in various forms, such as direct current, microwave induced, capacitively coupled and inductively coupled plasmas. Scaling
down the size would reduce the amount of gases, liquids and consumables required, as well as the sample analysis time, which
in turn would decrease the operating costs. Therefore, several research groups are involved in the development of microplasmas

The magnetic behaviour of the even-electron [Ni16Pd16(CO)40]4- cluster, in its [NnBu4]+ salt, has been investigated by magnetometry and muon spin rotation/relaxation (muSR) spectroscopy. The susceptibility measurements show an exceptionally high magnetic moment corresponding to a total spin value J=2. This suggests a Hund filling of a quadruplet ground state, quite unique in carbonyl-metal clusters. SQUID magnetometry shows a departure from the Curie-Weiss law, for T>150 K, and strong deviation from a Brillouin behaviour of the magnetisation curves. muSR spectroscopy in zero applied field shows a temperature independent decay of the muon spin polarisation, similar to that of a purely paramagnetic system. The observed muon spin repolarisation in a moderate external longitudinal field, however, invalidates this simple picture and suggests the presence of a local anisotropy field acting on the cluster's magnetic moment. A consistent interpretation of magnetometry and muSR results implies the occurrence of an additional interaction of the cluster spin with an effective crystalline field. The inclusion of this interaction in a model Hamiltonian allows us to successfully reproduce both the susceptibility and magnetisation data. 相似文献

Adequate very sensitive quantification methods are needed for the development and are also now required for the monitoring
of undesirable solid form(s) as routine tests. The pre-requisite for quantitation are selectivity, sensitivity and most important
the purity of standards and their proper storage, what is a challenge for metastable forms.
Several analytical techniques are available such as X-ray diffraction, spectroscopy, thermal analysis and microcalorimetry.
The different steps of the validation of the analytical methods and problems to be solved are discussed. Examples illustrate
the different techniques and compare their possible advantages and limits. The relative standard deviation of measurements
should allow for checking the homogenization procedure of mixtures for calibration. The validation should be carried out following
ICH guidelines for validation of analytical methods. Comparison of different techniques in adequate concentration range add
