A nonlinear evolution system is investigated. It can describe a wide class of phase transition phenomena, including irreversible phase changes. The nonlinearities are of various kind and two maximal monotone graphs appear in the phase relaxation equation. An existence result for the quasi-static evolution of incomplete damage in elastic materials is presented. The absence of gradient terms in the damage variable causes a critical lack of compactness. Therefore, the analysis is developed in the framework of Young measures, where a notion of solution is defined, presenting some improvements with respect to previous contributions. A comparative study of Pt(II)- and Pt(IV)-porphyrins as novel ionophores for anion-selective polymeric membrane electrodes is performed. Polymeric membranes of different compositions, prepared by varying plasticizers, cationic and anionic additives and Pt porphyrins, have been examined by potentiometric and optical techniques. Pt porphyrin-based devices were found to exhibit enhanced potentiometric selectivity toward iodide ion compared to electrodes based on a typical anion-exchanger (e.g. tridodecylmethylammonium chloride). It is shown that Pt(II)-porphyrins function as neutral anion carriers within the electrode membranes, while those based on Pt(IV)TPPCl(2) operate via a mixed mode carrier mechanism, evidencing also a partial reduction of the starting ionophore to Pt(II)TPP. Spectrophotometric measurements of thin polymeric films indicate that no spontaneous formation of hydroxide ion bridged porphyrin dimers occurs in the membrane plasticized both with high or low dielectric constant plasticizer, due to a low oxophilicity of central Pt. The computational study of various anion-Pt(IV)TPPCl(2) complex formation by means of semi-empirical and density functional theory (DFT) methods revealed a good correlation between calculated and measured ionophore selectivity.  相似文献

A phenomenological model for the coupled thermo-electro-magneto-mechanical and phase-transformation behaviour of magnetic shape-memory alloys is advanced in small strains and eddy current approximation. The corresponding system of strongly nonlinear relations is tackled via a suitable enthalpy-like transformation. A fully implicit regularized time-discretization scheme is devised and proved to be stable and convergent. In particular, the convergence proof for discrete solutions entails that a suitably weak, energy-conserving solution to the continuous nonlinear system exists. Moreover, several particular models as e.g. ferro/paramagnetic transformation in ferromagnetic materials, martensitic transformation in shape memory allows, or just a simple thermistor problem are covered just as special cases.  相似文献

An enzymatic kinetic method for the determination of V(V) is described, based on the activation of xanthine oxidase-catalysed NADH oxidation, in the presence of xanthine, dithiothreitol and Ag(+) ions. Under these conditions the activating power of V(V) was found to be enhanced. The linear relationship between relative enzyme activity and V(V) concentration allows the enzymatic determination of vanadium in the concentration range 20-500 ng ml , the maximum relative error being +/- 3%, and relative standard deviation less than +/- 2.2%. We investigate the edge-isoperimetric problem (EIP) for sets of n points in the triangular lattice by emphasizing its relation with the emergence of the Wulff shape in the crystallization problem. By introducing a suitable notion of perimeter and area, EIP minimizers are characterized as extremizers of an isoperimetric inequality: they attain maximal area and minimal perimeter among connected configurations. The maximal area and minimal perimeter are explicitly quantified in terms of n. In view of this isoperimetric characterizations, EIP minimizers \(M_n\) are seen to be given by hexagonal configurations with some extra points at their boundary. By a careful computation of the cardinality of these extra points, minimizers \(M_n\) are estimated to deviate from such hexagonal configurations by at most \(K_t\, n^{3/4}+\mathrm{o}(n^{3/4})\) points. The constant \(K_t\) is explicitly determined and shown to be sharp.  相似文献
