We are developing a consistent method to combine tree-level event generators for hadron collision interactions with those
including one additional QCD radiation from the initial-state partons, based on the limited leading-log (LLL) subtraction
method, aiming at an application to NLO event generators. In this method, a boundary between non-radiative and radiative processes
necessarily appears at the factorization scale (μF). The radiation effects are simulated using a parton shower (PS) in non-radiative processes. It is therefore crucial in our
method to apply a PS which well reproduces the radiation activities evaluated from the matrix-element (ME) calculations for
radiative processes. The PS activity depends on the applied kinematics model. In this paper we introduce two models for our
simple initial-state leading-log PS: a model similar to the ’old’ PYTHIA-PS and a pT-prefixed model motivated by ME calculations. PS simulations employing these models are tested using W-boson production at
LHC as an example. Both simulations show a smooth matching to the LLL subtracted W+1 jet simulation in the pT distribution of W bosons, and the summed pT spectra are stable against a variation of μF, despite that the pT-prefixed PS results in an apparently harder pT spectrum. 相似文献

We study the adiabatic time evolution of quantum resonances over time scales which are small compared to the lifetime of the
resonances. We consider three typical examples of resonances: The first one is that of shape resonances corresponding, for
example, to the state of a quantum-mechanical particle in a potential well whose shape changes over time scales small compared
to the escape time of the particle from the well. Our approach to studying the adiabatic evolution of shape resonances is
based on a precise form of the time-energy uncertainty relation and the usual adiabatic theorem in quantum mechanics. The
second example concerns resonances that appear as isolated complex eigenvalues of spectrally deformed Hamiltonians, such as
those encountered in the N-body Stark effect. Our approach to study such resonances is based on the Balslev-Combes theory
of dilatation-analytic Hamiltonians and an adiabatic theorem for nonnormal generators of time evolution. Our third example
concerns resonances arising from eigenvalues embedded in the continuous spectrum when a perturbation is turned on, such as
those encountered when a small system is coupled to an infinitely extended, dispersive medium. Our approach to this class
of examples is based on an extension of adiabatic theorems without a spectral gap condition. We finally comment on resonance
crossings, which can be studied using the last approach. 相似文献

In this study, nanoparticle emission of TiO2 nanopowder coated on different substrates including wood, polymer, and tile, was evaluated in a simulation box and measured
with a Scanning Mobility Particle Sizer (SMPS) for the first time. The coating process for the substrate followed the instructions
given by the supply company. In the simulation box, UV light, a fan, and a rubber knife were used to simulate the sun light,
wind, and human contacting conditions. Among the three selected substrates, tile coated with TiO2 nanopowder was found to have the highest particle emission (22 #/cm3 at 55 nm) due to nanopowder separation during the simulation process. The UV light was shown to increase the release of particle
below 200 nm from TiO2 nanopowder coating materials. The results show that, under the conditions of UV lamps, a fan and scraping motion, particle
number concentration or average emission rate decreases significantly after 60 and 90 min for TiO2/polymer and TiO2/wood, respectively. However, the emission rate continued to increase after 2 h of testing for TiO2/tile. It is suggested that nanoparticle emission evaluation is necessary for products with nanopowder coating. 相似文献

In this paper we study the semileptonic decays of the Bc meson in the light-cone sum rule (LCSR) approach. The result for each channel depends on the corresponding distribution amplitude
(DA) of the final meson. For the case of Bc decaying into a pseudoscalar meson, to twist-3 accuracy only the leading twist distribution amplitude is involved if we start
from a chiral current. If we choose a suitable chiral current in the vector meson case, the main twist-3 contributions are
also eliminated and we can consider the leading twist contribution only. The leading twist distribution amplitudes of the
charmonium and other heavy mesons are given by a model approach in a reasonable way. Employing this charmonium distribution
amplitude we find a cross section that is consistent with Belle and BaBar data. Based on this model, we calculate the form factors for various Bc decay modes in the corresponding regions. Extrapolating the form factors to the whole kinetic regions, we get the decay widths
and branching ratios for various Bc decay modes including their τ modes when they are kinematically accessible.

Traditionally evolution is seen as a process where from a pool of possible variations of a population (e.g. biological species or industrial goods) a few variations get selected which survive and proliferate, whereas the others vanish. Survival probabilities and proliferation rates are typically associated with the ‘fitness’ of particular variations. In this paper we argue that the notion of fitness is an a posteriori concept, in the sense that one can assign higher fitness to species that survive but one can generally not derive or predict fitness per se. Proliferation rates can be measured, whereas fitness landscapes, i.e. the inter-dependence of proliferation rates, cannot. For this reason we think that in a physical theory of evolution such notions should be avoided. In this spirit, here we propose a random matrix model of evolution where selection mechanisms are encoded in interaction matrices of species, thereby extending the previous work of ours by a control parameter describing suppressors in the system. We are able to recover some key facts of evolution dynamics endogenously, such as punctuated equilibrium, i.e. the existence of intrinsic large extinction events, and, at the same time, periods of dramatic diversification, as known e.g. from the fossil record. Further, we comment on two fundamental technical problems of a ‘physics of evolution’, the non-closedness of its phase space and the problem of co-evolving boundary conditions, apparent in all systems subject to evolution. 相似文献

A 5M Ni-Mn-Ga single crystal was investigated, supplied by Adaptamat Ltd, Finland. Especially low temperature magnetic actuation as well as cyclic tensile-compression tests revealed promising properties, which provide useful insights for training concepts in polycrystalline materials. Successive compressions lead to a significant reduction of the twinning stress by a factor of two. 相似文献

We have observed a disturbing suppression effect in three-pulse ESEEM and HYSCORE spectra of systems with more than one nucleus coupled to the electron spin. For such systems, the ESEEM signal contains internuclear combination peaks of varying intensity. At the same time, the peaks at the basic ESEEM frequencies are reduced in intensity, up to the point of complete cancellation. For both three-pulse ESEEM and HYSCORE, the amplitude of a peak of a given nucleus depends not only on its modulation depth parameter k and the tau-dependent blind-spot term b, but also on k and b of all other nuclei. Peaks of nuclei with shallow modulations can be strongly suppressed by nuclei with deep modulations. This cross-suppression effect explains the observation that HYSCORE (1)H peaks are often very weak or even undetectable in the presence of strong (14)N peaks. Due to this distortion of intensities, ESEEM spectra have to be analysed very carefully. We present a theoretical analysis of this effect based on the product rules, numerical computations, and illustrative experimental data on Cu(gly)(2). In experiments, the impact of this cross suppression can be alleviated by a proper choice of tau values, remote echo detection, and matched pulses. 相似文献

Public funding agencies largely support academic research as an effort to stimulate future product commercialization and foster broader societal benefits. Yet, translating research nurtured in academic settings into such outcomes is complex and demands functional interactions between government, academic, and industry, i.e., “triple helix,” organizations within an innovation ecosystem. This article argues that in the spirit of responsible innovation, research funding should build bridges that extend beyond the triple helix stakeholders to connect to peripheral organizations. To support that argument, evidence from agent network analysis gathered from two case studies reveals strong and weak connections, as well as gaps within innovation ecosystems in Switzerland and metropolitan Phoenix, USA. This article offers insights on how innovation ecosystems are aligned or misaligned with responsible innovation. 相似文献

In this paper, we propose a DFB laser with a horn ridge waveguide (HRW) to suppress the longitudinal spatial hole burning (LSHB) effect in the lasers cavity, thus to reduce the rolloff at low frequency. The simulation result shows that HRW DFB lasers could significantly suppress the LSHB effect and its modulation bandwidth is increased by 14% comparing with the conventional straight ridge waveguide (RW) DFB lasers when the normalized coupling coefficient (κL) is 3.0. The calculated eye diagrams of HRW DFB lasers under direct 25 Gbps modulation have clearer opening than that of the conventional RW DFB lasers. These superior properties are due to the suppression of the LSHB effect by the HRW structure. 相似文献
