A fundamental problem in many areas of classification, and particularly in biology, is the reconstruction of a leaf-labeled tree from just a subset of its induced subtrees. Without loss of generality, we may assume that these induced subtrees all have precisely four leaves. Of particular interest is determining whether a collection of quartet subtrees uniquely defines a parent tree. Here, we solve this problem in the case where the collection of quartet trees is of minimal size, by studyingencodings of binary trees by such quartet trees. We obtain a characterization of minimal encodings that exploits an underlying patchwork structure. 合成了一新型高分子骨架,大孔内烯醛-苯乙烯-二乙烯苯三元共聚物树脂骨架,通过其含有的活泼醛基与呋喃-2-硫代酰肼螯合剂进行高分子反应,制备了一种含氮、硫配位原子的螯合树脂,聚丙烯醛-呋喃-2-硫代酰腙。对其与贵金属离子的吸附性能进行了初步研究,结果表明,该树脂对金、钯及铂具有选择性吸附作用,吸附容量分别为1.20mmol/g干树脂,0.37mmol/g干树脂及0.28mmol/g干树脂。 相似文献

A fundamental problem in classification is how to combine collections of trees having overlapping sets of leaves. The requirement that such a collection of trees is realized by at least one parent tree determines uniquely some additional subtrees not in the original collection. We analyze the "rules" that arise in this way by defining a closure operator for sets of trees. All-optical switching devices are based on a material possessing a nonlinear optical response, enabling light to control light, and are enjoying renewed interest. Photonic crystals are a promising platform for realizing compact all-optical switches operating at very low power and integrated on an optical integrated circuit. In this review, we show that by making photonic crystals from a highly nonlinear chalcogenide glass, we have the potential to integrate a variety of active devices into a photonic chip. We describe the fabrication and testing of two-dimensional Ge33As12 Se55 chalcogenide glass photonic crystal membrane devices (waveguides and microcavities). We then demonstrate the ability to post-tune the devices using the material photosensitivity. In one proposal we hope to introduce a double-heterostructure microcavity using the photosensitivity alone. 相似文献

Background
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is an age-dependent neurodegenerative disease that causes motor neuron degeneration, paralysis and death. Mutations in Cu, Zn superoxide dismutase (SOD1) are one cause for the familial form of this disease. Transgenic mice expressing mutant SOD1 develop age-dependent motor neuron degeneration, skeletal muscle weakness, paralysis and death similar to humans. The mechanism whereby mutant SOD1 induces motor neuron degeneration is not understood but widespread mitochondrial vacuolation has been observed during early phases of motor neuron degeneration. How this vacuolation develops is not clear, but could involve autophagic vacuolation, mitochondrial permeability transition (MPT) or uncharacterized mechanisms. In contrast to the terminal phosphinidene complex PhPW(CO)(5) (2), which adds to [5]metacyclophane (1) in a 1,4-fashion, dichlorocarbene preferentially adds in a 1,2-fashion to the formal "anti-Bredt" type double bond of the aromatic ring of 1 to afford the norcaradiene 11b, which immediately rearranges to the bridged cycloheptatriene 12b and further by a [1,5] sigmatropic chlorine migration to the isomeric 13b as the first observable product. More slowly, the latter isomerizes via a dissociative mechanism to give 15b. A computational study supports the notion that the [1,5] chlorine migration in the rearrangement 12b --> 13b, for which an activation barrier of 70.2 kJ mol(-)(1) was calculated, is essentially concerted with minor charge separation.
