Single particle tracking in systems showing anomalous diffusion: the role of weak ergodicity breaking 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Anomalous diffusion has been widely observed by single particle tracking microscopy in complex systems such as biological cells. The resulting time series are usually evaluated in terms of time averages. Often anomalous diffusion is connected with non-ergodic behaviour. In such cases the time averages remain random variables and hence irreproducible. Here we present a detailed analysis of the time averaged mean squared displacement for systems governed by anomalous diffusion, considering both unconfined and restricted (corralled) motion. We discuss the behaviour of the time averaged mean squared displacement for two prominent stochastic processes, namely, continuous time random walks and fractional Brownian motion. We also study the distribution of the time averaged mean squared displacement around its ensemble mean, and show that this distribution preserves typical process characteristics even for short time series. Recently, velocity correlation functions were suggested to distinguish between these processes. We here present analytical expressions for the velocity correlation functions. The knowledge of the results presented here is expected to be relevant for the correct interpretation of single particle trajectory data in complex systems. 相似文献

We demonstrated ultrafast femtosecond nonlinear optical (NLO) absorption characteristics of bilayered fullerosome vesicle nanostructures derived from molecular self-assembly of amphiphilic oligo(ethylene glycolated) C(60)-(light-harvesting diphenylaminofluorene antenna). Fullerene conjugates were designed to enhance photoresponse in a femtosecond time scale by applying an isomerizable periconjugation linker between the C(60) cage and diphenylaminofluorene antenna subunit in an intramolecular contact distance of only < 3.0 ?. Morphology of C(60)(>DPAF-EG(12)C(1))-based fullerosome nanovesicles in H(2)O was characterized to consist of a bilayered shell with a sphere diameter of 20-70 nm and a chromophore shell-width of 9.0-10 nm, fitting well with a head-to-head packing configuration of the molecular length. At the estimated effective nanovesicle concentration as low as 5.5 × 10(-8) MV (molecular molar concentration of 5.0 × 10(-4) M) in H(2)O, two-photon absorption (2PA) phenomena were found to be the dominating photophysical events showing a large molar concentration-insensitive 2PA cross-section value equivalent to 8500 GM in a form of nanovesicles, on average. The observed NLO characteristics led to a sharp trend of efficient light-transmittance intensity reduction at the input laser intensity above 100 GW/cm(2). 相似文献

The effect of molecular structure on the cure characteristics of bismaleimides (BMIs) was investigated by rheological measurements. BMI resins of different chemical structures were used, prepared from diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A and N-(3-carboxy phenyl) maleimide or N-(4-carboxy phenyl) maleimide. Temperature dependence of the rheological data was correlated to the Arrhenius equation, from which the activation energy of crosslinking was calculated.Upon heating in dynamic curing, viscosity passed through a minimum then sharply increased due to increasing amount of the crosslinking reaction. The temperature at minimum viscosity increased as the chain length became longer. After passing the minimum point, viscosity increased much faster for meta BMIs (3BE1, 3BE2) than para BMIs, however, the difference in the chain length did not show any appreciable difference in the viscosity increase rate (dη∗/dT). Nonetheless, the final viscosity was lower for longer chains, because their crosslinking density would be lower.In isothermal curing, the final crosslinking density was expected to increase with temperature, which was shown via the increase in the final viscosity. The gelation time decreased with temperature, and the activation energy of the crosslinking reaction was obtained. Using the reaction kinetics parameters obtained from dynamic scanning calorimeter and Arrhenius type equation, the viscosity change during the isothermal curing was simulated and compared with the measurements. 相似文献

Two types of conformal load-bearing antenna structures (CLAS) were designed with microwave composite laminates and Nomex honeycomb cores to secure both the structural rigidity and a good electrical performance. One was a 4 × 8 array for the synthetic-aperture radar (SAR) system and the other was a 5 × 2 array for the wireless local-area network (LAN) system. The design was based on a wide bandwidth, high polarization purity, low losses, and high structural rigidity. The design, fabrication, and structural/electrical performances of the antenna structures were studied. Their flexural behavior was examined by three-point bending, impact, and buckling tests. The electrical measurements were in a good agreement with simulation results. The complex antenna structures obtained have good flexural characteristics. The design of this antenna structure is extended to give a useful guide for sandwich panel manufacturers as well as antenna designers. 相似文献

Fringe element reconstruction technique for tracking the free surface in three‐dimensional incompressible flow analysis was developed. The flow field was calculated by the mixed formulation based on a four‐node tetrahedral element with a bubble function at the centroid (P1+/P1). Since an Eulerian approach was employed in this study, the flow front interface was advected by the flow through a fixed mesh. For accurate modelling of interfacial movement, a fringe element reconstruction method developed can provide not only an accurate treatment of material discontinuity but also surface tension across the interface. The effect of surface tension was modelled by imposing tensile stress directly on the constructed surface elements at the flow front interface. To verify the numerical approach developed, the developed algorithm was applied to two examples whose solutions are available in references. The performance of Ni-foam pasted Ni(OH)2 prepared from co-precipitated Ni(OH)2 with Zinc (Zn) and Cobalt (Co) as the positive electrode active material of an asymmetric electrochemical capacitor (EC)
is studied for the enhancement of the capacitor’s specific energy and power densities. A co-precipitated Ni(OH)2/activated carbon (AC) composite material and AC were used as a positive and negative electrode material. The AC in the positive
electrode is used as an electrolyte reservoir to reduce ionic diffusion resistance regardless of charge/discharge current
density. In addition, the simultaneous presence of Zn and Co ions in the Ni(OH)2 layer improves the efficiency of the active material and reduces the resistance of the unit cell. It was observed that through
the effects of the additives in the positive electrode, the asymmetric EC exhibits a high energy density with 35.7 Wh/kg,
based on the active material. Furthermore, the energy density decreasing behavior at a high discharge current density was
retarded.

The complex dynamics of a variable viscoelasticity oscillator is studied using the novel concept of Variable‐Order (VO) Calculus. The damping force in the oscillator varies continuously between the elastic and viscous regimes depending on the position of the mass. The oscillator considered here is composed of a linear spring of stiffness k that inputs a restitutive force Fk = ‐k x, a VO damper of order q(x(t)) that generates a damping force Fq = ‐cq ??q(x(t)) x, and a mass m. A modified Runge‐Kutta method is used in conjunction with a trapezoidal numerical integration technique to yield a second‐order accurate method for the solution of the resulting VO Differential Equation (VODE). The VO oscillator is also modelled using a Constant Order (CO) formulation where a number of CO fractional order differentials are weighted to simulate the VO behavior. The CO formulation asymptotically approaches the VO results when a relatively large number of weights is used. For the viscoelastic range of 0 ≤ q ≤ 1, the dynamics of the oscillator is well approximated by the CO formulation when 5 or more fractional terms are included (e.g., 0, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, and 1). 相似文献

Four different types of conjugated copolymers, consisting of alternating structures of phenothiazinylene vinylene and phenylene vinylene derivatives such as phenylene vinylene, 1,1′‐biphenyl‐4,4′‐ylene vinylene, 2‐methoxy‐5‐(2‐ethylhexyloxy)‐1,4‐phenylene vinylene, and 9,10‐anthrylene vinylene, were prepared by Horner–Emmons condensation between appropriate diphosphonates and dialdehydes. Single‐layer and double‐layer light‐emitting diodes were fabricated with the synthesized conjugated polymers, and their electroluminescent properties were investigated. Poly(N‐2‐ethylhexyl‐3,6‐phenothiazinylene vinylene‐alt‐9,10‐anthrylene vinylene), containing phenothiazinylene vinylene and anthrylene vinylene as repeat units, emitted a reddish‐orange color with Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage coordinates of x = 0.6173 and y = 0.3814 that was very similar to the National Television System Committee standard red, and it showed a bipolar carrier‐injection/transporting capability caused by electron‐withdrawing anthracene and electron‐donating amino groups. Poly[N‐2‐ethylhexyl‐3,6‐phenothiazinylene vinylene‐alt‐2‐methoxy‐5‐(2‐ethylhexyloxy)‐1,4‐phenylene vinylene], containing phenothiazinylene vinylene and dialkoxy phenylene vinylene moieties, showed excellent hole‐injection/transporting capability. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
