Compatible Lie Brackets and Integrable Equations of the Principal Chiral Model Type

We consider two classes of integrable nonlinear hyperbolic systems on Lie algebras. These systems generalize the principal chiral model. Each system is related to a pair of compatible Lie brackets and has a Lax representation, which is determined by the direct sum decomposition of the Lie algebra of Laurent series into the subalgebra of Taylor series and the complementary subalgebra corresponding to the pair. New examples of compatible Lie brackets are given.     

Electron tuning of frequency in gyrotrons

Formulas for shifts of gyrotron autooscillation frequency due to change of electron beam parameters are presented. The frequency shifts can be commensurable with the frequency band of the beam-unloaded cavity. The autooscillation frequency is most sensitive to the change of the magnetic field, less to the change of the anode voltage and least to the the change of the beam voltage. Experiments presented are in satisfactory agreement with the theory.The authors wish to thank M.I. Petelin for his interest to the present work.     

Electronegativity scheme for reactions involving radical addition to vinyl monomers

The concept of the apparent electronegativity of a reaction site has been introduced. This has been used to develop a new scheme for calculating the relative rate constants of addition of radicals with different structures to vinyl monomers. The parameters of the scheme are given for 40 reagents. Arenesulfonylimines of methyl trifluoropyruvate in the cyclocondensation reactions with 1,3-C,N-and-N,N-binucleophiles

Reaction of arenesulfonylimines of methyl trifluoropyruvate with 1,3-C,N-and-N,N-binucleophiles led to a variety of N-sulfonylated fluorine-containing heterocycles, including the fused ones. New variants of the generalized level method for minimization of convex nondifferentiable functions taking infinite values

New variants of the generalized level method for minimization of convex Lipschitz functions on a compact set with a nonempty interior are proposed. These variants include the well-known generalized and classical level methods. For the new variants, an estimate of the convergence rate is found, including the variants in which the auxiliary problems are solved approximately.     

Synthesis and structure of O-(arylcarbamoyl)butyrhydroximoyl chlorides

The O-(arylcarbamoyl)butyrhydroximoyl chlorides were synthesized, and the x-ray structural analysis (XSA) of one of them — O-(o-tolylcarbamoyl)butyrhydroximoyl chloride — was performed. The transition of spontaneous polymerization of acrylamide to “explosive” regime

Experimental results related to the transition of spontaneous polymerization of acrylamide complexes with metal nitrates to the “explosive” regime at room temperature are presented.
