This study deals with the isolation of novel mutant of Bacillus and optimisation of media for the hyperproduction of cellulase. Cellulase-producing Bacillus PC-BC6 was subjected to physical and chemical mutagenesis to enhance the cellulolytic potential. Later, mutagenesis isolates were screened both qualitatively and quantitatively. Among all the tested isolates, Bacillus N3 yielded maximum (CMCase 1250 IU/mL/min and FPase 629 IU/mL/min) activity. The Bacillus N3 strain exhibited 1.7-fold more enzyme production as compared with the parental strain. Proximate analysis of untreated and pretreated Saccharum spontaneum was carried out to improve cellulase production. Three different media were tested for the production of cellulase, among which M2 medium containing MgSO4, pretreated S. spontaneum, K2HPO4, (NH4)2SO4 and peptone was found to be the best for maximum enzyme production by mutant Bacillus N3.  相似文献

Template‐directed synthesis of nanostructures has been emerging as one of the most important synthetic methodologies. A pristine nanotemplate is usually chemically transformed into other compounds and sacrificed after templating or only acts as an inert physical template to support the new components. If a nanotemplate is costly or toxic as waste, to recycle such a nanotemplate becomes highly desirable. Recently, ultrathin tellurium nanowires (TeNWs) have been demonstrated as versatile chemical or physical templates for the synthesis of a diverse family of uniform 1D nanostructures. However, ultrathin TeNWs as template are usually costly and are discarded as toxic waste in ionic species after chemical reactions or erosion. To solve the above problem, we conceptually demonstrate that such a nanotemplate can be economically recycled from waste solutions and repeatedly used as template.  相似文献

Zinc bearing wastes such as electric arc furnace dust (EAFD) obtained from steel making constitute an important resource for zinc extraction. Inclusion of heavy metals such as Pb, Cd, Cu, Cr, Ni, etc., in these wastes makes them hazardous to use and/or dispose. In the present research work, leaching kinetics of EAFD with sulfuric acid has been investigated and various experimental parameters such as concentration of lixiviant, stirring rate, sample particle size, liquid/solid proportion, and temperature of the reaction have been optimized. It has been found that the dissolution rate of EAFD increases with rise in temperature, acidic strength, rate of stirring, liquid to solid proportion and with reduction in EAFD particle size. From the analysis of leaching kinetic data by means of graphical and statistical methods, it has been evaluated that the leaching kinetics of EAFD is dictated by surface diffusion reaction. Apparent energy of activation for the leaching reaction of EAFD with sulfuric acid is found to be 13.1 kJ mol–1 within the temperature range of 308 to 358 K.  相似文献

The perception of pain caused by inflammation serves as a warning sign to avoid further injury. The generation and transmission of pain impulses involves various pathways and receptors. Cardamonin isolated from Boesenbergia rotunda (L.) Mansf. has been reported to exert antinociceptive effects in thermal and mechanical pain models; however, the precise mechanism has yet to be examined. The present study investigated the possible mechanisms involved in the antinociceptive activity of cardamonin on protein kinase C, N-methyl-d-aspartate (NMDA) and non-NMDA glutamate receptors, l-arginine/cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) mechanism, as well as the ATP-sensitive potassium (K+) channel. Cardamonin was administered to the animals intra-peritoneally. Present findings showed that cardamonin significantly inhibited pain elicited by intraplantar injection of phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA, a protein kinase C activator) with calculated mean ED50 of 2.0 mg/kg (0.9–4.5 mg/kg). The study presented that pre-treatment with MK-801 (NMDA receptor antagonist) and NBQX (non-NMDA receptor antagonist) significantly modulates the antinociceptive activity of cardamonin at 3 mg/kg when tested with glutamate-induced paw licking test. Pre-treatment with l-arginine (a nitric oxide precursor), ODQ (selective inhibitor of soluble guanylyl cyclase) and glibenclamide (ATP-sensitive K+ channel inhibitor) significantly enhanced the antinociception produced by cardamonin. In conclusion, the present findings showed that the antinociceptive activity of cardamonin might involve the modulation of PKC activity, NMDA and non-NMDA glutamate receptors, l-arginine/nitric oxide/cGMP pathway and ATP-sensitive K+ channel.  相似文献

The study of peristaltic flow of a Carreau fluid in a non‐uniform tube under the consideration of long wavelength in the presence of heat and mass transfer is presented. The flow is investigated in a wave frame of reference moving with velocity of the wave c. Two types of analytical solutions have been evaluated (i) perturbation method (ii) homotopy analysis method for velocity, temperature and concentration field. Numerical integration have been used to obtain the graphical results for pressure rise and frictional forces. This study explores the effects of heat transfer on the Williamson fluid over a porous exponentially stretching surface. The boundary layer equations of the Williamson fluid model for two dimensional flow with heat transfer are presented. Two cases of heat transfer are considered, i.e., the prescribed exponential order surface temperature (PEST) case and the prescribed exponential order heat flux (PEHF) case. The highly nonlinear partial differential equations are simplified with suitable similar and non-similar variables, and finally are solved analytically with the help of the optimal homotopy analysis method (OHAM). The optimal convergence control parameters are obtained, and the physical fea- tures of the flow parameters are analyzed through graphs and tables. The skin friction and wall temperature gradient are calculated.  相似文献

This study investigates the peristaltic flow of Eyring–Powell fluid in an endoscope. The governing equations for Eyring–Powell are modeled in cylindrical coordinates under the assumption of long wavelength and low Reynolds number approximation. The resulting nonlinear differential equations are solved analytically and numerically by employing perturbation method and shooting technique. Numerical integration have been done for pressure rise and frictional forces. Comparative study have been made for both the solutions to see the validity of the results. The effects of various emerging parameters are investigated for five different peristaltic waves. (Basically peristaltic phenomena is a natural phenomena so it is not necessary that peristaltic wave be always a sinusoidal wave it could be multisinusoidal, triangular, trapezoidal and square waves for example heartbeats.) In the present investigation, we have studied the effects of mixed convection heat and mass transfer on peristaltic flow of Williamson fluid model in a vertical annulus. The governing equations of Williamson fluid model are simplified using the assumptions of long wavelength and low Reynold’s number. An approximated analytical and numerical solutions are found for the velocity field using (i) Perturbation method (ii) Shooting method. The comparisons of analytical and numerical solutions have been presented. The expressions for pressure rise, velocity against various physical parameter are discussed through graphs.  相似文献
