A process‐scale stereoselective synthesis of nature‐identical (−)‐(S,S)‐7‐hydroxycalamenal (=(−)‐(5S,8S)‐5,6,7,8‐tetrahydro‐3‐hydroxy‐5‐methyl‐8‐(1‐methylethyl)naphthalene‐2‐carbaldehyde; (−)‐ 1a ) in 96% enantiomeric excess (ee) with the aid of chiral Ru complexes has been developed. The key step was the enantioselective hydrogenation of easily accessible 2‐(4‐methoxyphenyl)‐3‐methylbut‐2‐enoic acid ( 10 ) to (+)‐ 11 in a 86% ee (Scheme 5 and Table 1). A substantial increase in optical purity (96% ee) was achieved by induced crystallization of the intermediate (+)‐3,4‐dihydro‐4‐(1‐methylethyl)‐7‐methoxy‐2H‐naphthalen‐1‐one ((+)‐ 3 ). Computational conformation analysis carried out on the analog (−)‐ 9 rationalized the high diastereoselectivity achieved in the catalytic hydrogenation of the CC bond. 相似文献
The visual system as an interface between the environment and the living organism can serve as a sensitive indicator especially in studies that deal with effects of radiation. The crab retina as the seat of the photoreceptors and the lamina ganglionaris as the place of second order neurons were the targets of our study. Conventional specimen preparation techniques for transmission electron microscopy (TEM) are adequate to preserve any modifications that may occur as a consequence of the experimental treatment. In this study we analyzed by TEM how retinal and lamina ganglionaris cells of the crab Ucides cordatus responded to a 30 min exposure to ultraviolet C (UV-C) and ultraviolet B (UV-B) radiation with doses of 7200 and 590 J/cm2, respectively. The results show that damaged cells occurred in both retina and lamina ganglionaris, but that the retinal cells were affected to a greater extent. Morphological alterations of the pigment granules and an increase in the quantity of lipid droplets of the retinal cells were also observed. Additional changes include an increase in heterochromatin, nuclear karyolyses and karyorrhexes, distention of rough endoplasmic reticulum and mitochondrial disruptions. The observed morphological changes are indicative of apoptotic processes and show that an exposure to light of wavelengths of 254 and 312 nm may be injurious to the visual system of invertebrates. 相似文献

This study focused on preparation of tungsten oxide supported on zirconia by thermal spreading. The prepared samples were characterized by infrared spectroscopy, UV-vis diffuse reflection spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and also by methanol dehydration reaction. It was observed that isolated octahedral tungsten dispersed species and dispersed polytungstate were formed on zirconia surface, although some WO3 that remained after the thermal treatment could also be detected. The presence of these species led to an increase of the number of Lewis sites and the generation of Brönsted acid sites. High calcination temperatures promoted the creation of Brönsted sites as a consequence of polytungstate species formation. The activity on methanol dehydration was also determined by the concentration of these species, whereas the isolated WOx species were found poorly active. The correlation observed between the catalytic performance and the tungsten dispersed species, as revealed by spectroscopic techniques, evidenced the occurrence of thermal spreading of WO3 on ZrO2. The results presented in this work show that WO3 thermal spreading on ZrO2 may be effectively accomplished as predicted by thermodynamics. 相似文献

Within the scope of SAMPL7 challenge for predicting physical properties, the Integral Equation Formalism of the Miertus-Scrocco-Tomasi (IEFPCM/MST) continuum solvation model has been used for the blind prediction of n-octanol/water partition coefficients and acidity constants of a set of 22 and 20 sulfonamide-containing compounds, respectively. The log P and pKa were computed using the B3LPYP/6-31G(d) parametrized version of the IEFPCM/MST model. The performance of our method for partition coefficients yielded a root-mean square error of 1.03 (log P units), placing this method among the most accurate theoretical approaches in the comparison with both globally (rank 8th) and physical (rank 2nd) methods. On the other hand, the deviation between predicted and experimental pKa values was 1.32 log units, obtaining the second best-ranked submission. Though this highlights the reliability of the IEFPCM/MST model for predicting the partitioning and the acid dissociation constant of drug-like compounds compound, the results are discussed to identify potential weaknesses and improve the performance of the method.
Group 4 metal complexes [M(eta(5)-C(5)Me(4)SiMe(2)-eta(1)-N-2R)(NMe(2))(2)] (R = pyridine, pyrazine, pyrimidine, thiazole, M = Ti; R = pyridine, thiazole; M = Zr) containing the tetramethylcyclopentadienyl-dialkylsilyl bridged amidinato as pendant ligand, were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, solution (1)H, (13)C and (15)N NMR spectroscopy and experimental (13)C and (15)N CPMAS in the solid state. The crystal structures of [Ti(eta(5)-C(5)Me(4)SiMe(2)-eta(1)-N-2R)(NMe(2))(2)] (R = pyridine, pyrazine, pyrimidine, thiazole) were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction studies. All compounds exhibit a distorted tetrahedral geometry, with the ansa-monocyclopentadienyl-amido ligands acting in a bidentate mode. The [M(eta(5)-C(5)Me(4)SiMe(2)-eta(1)-N-2R)(NMe(2))(2)] (R = pyridine, thiazole; M = Zr, Ti) complexes are ethylene polymerization catalysts in the presence of MAO and they are active precursors in regioselective catalytic hydroamination operating with an anti-Markovnikov mechanism. 相似文献
