Results of a first experiment on (K+p) and (K+d) correlations from proton-carbon (pC) and proton-deuteron (pd) interactions at beam energies above and much below the threshold for elementary kaon production in nucleon-nucleon reactions ( T NN = 1580 MeV) are discussed. These data, obtained with the ANKE spectrometer at COSY-Jülich, provide first direct evidence for K+ production via the two-step mechanism and an indication for a cluster mechanism. It is shown that both processes contribute significantly in pC collisions at 1200 MeV, while they are strongly suppressed at 2300 MeV and also in pd-interactions at 1344 MeV. It is emphasized that the underlying kinematics can be exploited to distinguish between these reaction mechanisms. We study coherent and incoherent φ-meson photoproduction from nuclei. The available data are analyzed in terms of single- and coupled-channel photoproduction. It is found that the data on coherent photoproduction can be well reproduced within a single-channel optical model and show only little room for ω-φ mixing. These data indicate a normal distortion of the φ-meson in nuclei, which is compatible with the results obtained through the vector meson dominance model. The data on incoherent φ-meson photoproduction show an anomalous A-dependence resulting in a very strong φ-meson distortion. These data can be explained by a coupled-channel effect through the dominant contribution from the ω↦φ or the π↦φ transition or, more speculative, through the excitation of a cryptoexotic B φ-baryon.  相似文献

The available data on ω and φ production from πN and pp collisions are reanalyzed with respect to an OZI rule violation on the basis of transition matrix elements. The data are found to be compatible with a constant ratio R , which however, deviates substantially from the SU(3) prediction based on the present knowledge of the φ-ω mixing angle. The possible existence of -mesic nuclei poses an interesting and still open issue of research. Since the occurence of such -nucleus bound states is reflected in the corresponding -nucleus scattering length, we critically review the present knowledge for the 3He system. Specifically, we scrutinize the available experimental information for the reaction p + d + 3He which is commonly used to extract the 3He scattering length. We point out several striking discrepancies between the various measurements. Subject to those inconsistencies, we deduce a value a = | 4.3±0.3| + i(0.5±0.5) fm.  相似文献

The reaction K+XeK0pX is investigated in a meson-exchange model including rescattering of the secondary protons with the aim to analyze the evidence for the +(1540)-resonance reported by the DIANA Collaboration. We confirm that the kinematical cuts introduced by the DIANA Collaboration efficiently suppress the background to the K+nK0p reaction which may contribute to the +(1540) production. We find that these kinematical cuts do not produce a narrow structure in the K0p effective-mass spectra near 1540 MeV. We study the effect of a narrow +-resonance of both positive and negative parity in comparison with the DIANA data. We show that the K+XeK0pX calculations without + contribution as well as the results obtained with a + width of 1 MeV are in comparably good agreement with the DIANA results. More dedicated experiments are called for to establish this exotic baryon resonance.  相似文献

We investigate the ˉN interaction at low energies using a meson exchange model supplemented with a short-distance contribution from one-gluon exchange. The model is developed in close analogy to the meson-exchange KN interaction of the Jülich group utilizing SU(4) symmetry constraints. The main ingredients of the interaction are provided by vector meson (ρ , ω exchange and higher-order box diagrams involving ˉ* N , ˉΔ , and ˉ*Δ intermediate states. The short-range part is assumed to receive additional contributions from genuine quark-gluon processes. The predicted cross-sections for ˉN for excess energies up to 150MeV are of the same order of magnitude as those for KN but with average values of around 20mb, roughly a factor two larger than for the latter system. It is found that the ω -exchange plays a very important role. Its interference pattern with the ρ -exchange, which is basically fixed by the assumed SU(4) symmetry, clearly determines the qualitative features of the ˉN interaction --very similiar to what happens also for the KN system.  相似文献
