A search for pair production of first-generation scalar leptoquarks is performed in the final state containing two electrons and two jets using proton-proton collision data at √s = 7 TeV. The data sample used corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 33 pb?1 collected with the CMS detector at the CERN LHC. The number of observed events is in good agreement with the predictions for the standard model background processes, and an upper limit is set on the leptoquark pair production cross section times β2 as a function of the leptoquark mass, where β is the branching fraction of the leptoquark decay to an electron and a quark. A 95% confidence level lower limit is set on the mass of a first-generation scalar leptoquark at 384 GeV for β = 1, which is the most stringent direct limit to date.  相似文献

A study of events with missing transverse energy and an energetic jet is performed using pp collision data at a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. The data were collected by the CMS detector at the LHC, and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 36 pb(-1). An excess of these events over standard model contributions is a signature of new physics such as large extra dimensions and unparticles. The number of observed events is in good agreement with the prediction of the standard model, and significant extension of the current limits on parameters of new physics benchmark models is achieved.  相似文献

Low-order electromagnetic corrections to deep inelastic scattering of polarized leptons by polarized nucleons are derived and investigated using a covariant method. Thorough numerical calculations of the corrections to cross sections and to the measured asymmetry are carried out for μp (ep) scattering in the range of lepton energy E = 200–500 GeV (10–16 GeV). The sensitivity of the corrections to the choice of the structure functions is investigated. The electromagnetic corrections to the asymmetry are found to be less than 10% within the greatest part of the kinematical region, but if x ~ 0, y ~ 1 they can reach a few tens of percent. The lowest order neutral current contribution to the asymmetry is obtained within the framework of standard electroweak interaction theory and the quark parton model. It is found this effect may be significant, especially in the kinematical range where electromagnetic corrections are negligible.  相似文献

Reactions of mono-, di-, and trimethoxybenzaldehydes with trimethylsulfonium methyl sulfate readily occur under mild homogeneous and heterogeneous phase-transfer conditions to give the corresponding aryloxiranes whose yields are comparable with those typical of severe Corey-Chaykovsky reaction conditions. The phase-transfer version ensures better purity of the epoxy derivatives and is the only possible way of preparing 1-methyl-3-(oxiran-2-yl)-1H-indole.  相似文献

A bilinear time series (BLTS) model is expressed in the form of Akaike's Markovian representation in order to use the Kalman recursive estimation approach. It is shown that Akaike's Markovian representation of autoregressive moving average models of orderp and q (ARMA(p,q)) and that of the bilinear model are equivalent. This equivalence facilitates the maximum likelihood estimation of the parameters involved in the bilinear model, which otherwise is an unwieldy problem. We consider the factors responsible for the nucleophilicity and micellar effects of surfactants based on imidazole and pyridine, functionalized by an oximate group. The reactivity of the functional detergents, as for oximes not forming micelles, is described by a nonlinear Br?nsted plot with an inflection point at the pKa of the oximate group, ~8.5-9.0. The major contribution to the increase in the degradation rate of ecotoxins by supernucleophilic systems based on functional surfactants (by a factor of 10to 10compared with the methyl analogs) comes from the effect of concentration of the substrate. The established characteristics make possible targeted modification of the surfactant structure and obtaining detergents with a specified reactivity level.  相似文献

A sensitive and reliable high‐performance liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC–MS/MS) was developed and validated for simultaneous quantification IC87114, roflumilast (RFM), and its active metabolite roflumilast N‐oxide (RFN) using tolbutamide as an internal standard. The analytes were extracted by using liquid–liquid extraction and separated on a reverse phase C18 column (50 mm × 3 mm i.d., 4.6 µ) using methanol: 2 mM ammonium acetate buffer, pH 4.0 as mobile phase at a flow rate 1 mL/min in gradient mode. Selective reaction monitoring was performed using the transitions m/z 398.3 > 145.9, 403.1 >186.9, 419.1 > 187.0 and 271.1 > 155.0 to quantify quantification IC87114, RFM, RFN and tolbutamide, respectively. The method was validated over the concentration range of 0.1–60 ng.mL?1 for RFM and RFN and 6 to 2980 ng.mL?1 for IC87114. Intra‐ and inter‐day accuracy and precision of validated method were within the acceptable limits of <15% at all concentrations. Coefficients of correlation (r2) for the calibration curves were >0.99 for all analytes. The quantitation method was successfully applied for simultaneous estimation of IC87114, RFM and RFN in a pharmacokinetic drug–drug interaction study in Wistar rats. A search for a Higgs boson in the four-lepton decay channel H→ZZ, with each Z boson decaying to an electron or muon pair, is reported. The search covers Higgs boson mass hypotheses in the range of 110100 GeV (with 13 below 160 GeV), while 67.1±6.0 (9.5±1.3) events are expected from background. The four-lepton mass distribution is consistent with the expectation of standard model background production of ZZ pairs. Upper limits at 95% confidence level exclude the standard model Higgs boson in the ranges of 134-158 GeV, 180-305 GeV, and 340-465 GeV. Small excesses of events are observed around masses of 119, 126, and 320 GeV, making the observed limits weaker than expected in the absence of a signal.  相似文献
