Plasmonics is a rapidly developing field concerning light manipulation at the nanoscale with many potential applications, of which plasmonic circuits are promising for future information technology. Plasmonic waveguides are fundamental elements for constructing plasmonic integrated circuits. Among the proposed different plasmonic waveguides, metallic nanowires have drawn much attention due to the highly confined electromagnetic waves and relatively low propagation loss. Here we review the recent research progress in the waveguiding characteristics of metallic nanowires and nanowire-based nanophotonic devices. Plasmon modes of both cylindrical and pentagonal metallic nanowires with and without substrate are discussed. Typical methods for exciting and detecting the plasmons in metallic nanowires are briefly summarized. Because of the multimode characteristic, the plasmon propagation and emission in the nanowire have many unique properties, benefiting the design of plasmonic devices. A few nanowire-based devices are highlighted, including quarter-wave plate, Fabry-Prot resonator, router and logic gates.  相似文献

The effects of a Mg^2+ ion on the dopant occupancy and upconversion luminescence of a Ho^3+ ion in LiNbO3 crystal are reported. The birefringence gradient of the crystal is measured to investigate the optical homogeneity. The X-ray powder diffraction spectrum and the upconversion luminescence are used to investigate defect structure and spectroscopic properties of Mg,Ho:LiNbO3. Under 808-nm excitation, blue, red, and very intense yellow-green bands are observed. Based on the energy levels of Ho^3+ in LiNbO3, and the pump intensity dependence of the observed emission, an excitation scheme is presented. The upconversion emission spectra reveal an enhancement of upconversion intensity when the Mg^2+ ions are introduced into Ho:LiNbO3. The main upconversion mechanism is discussed in this work.  相似文献

Fe K-shell ionization cross sections induced by 2.4–6.0 MeV Xe20+are measured and compared with different binaryencounter-approximation(BEA)models.The results indicate that the BEA model corrected both by the Coulomb repulsion and by the effective nuclear charge(Zeff)agrees well with the experimental data.Comparison of Fe K-shell X-ray emission induced by 5 MeV xenon ions with different initial charge states(20+,22+,26+,30+)verifies the applicability of the effective nuclear charge(Zeff)correction for the BEA model.It is found that Zeffcorrection is reasonable to describe direct ionization induced by xenon ions with no initial M-shell vacancies.However,when the M shell is opened,the Zeffcorrected BEA model is unable to explain the inner-shell ionization,and the electron transfer by molecular-orbital promotion should be considered.  相似文献

针对惯性约束聚变研究中高时间分辨测量的需求,详细分析并设计了一种新型的高时间分辨的全光扫描装置。该装置根据光生载流子效应、波导传输和棱镜色散原理,采用全光学元件,实现了全光器件的类条纹相机扫描功能。设计制作了具有棱镜结构和光偏转功能的全光扫描模块。以1053 nm激光为传输光,527 nm激光为泵浦光,完成了脉宽为8 ps的脉冲激光信号作用下的光偏转实验。从技术上验证了全光扫描技术的可行性。  相似文献

A high performance sub-wavelength metallic grating coupled surface plasmon resonance (SWMGCSPR) sensor with metal and porous composite layer is proposed. Rigorous coupled-wave analysis (RCWA) is conducted to prove the design feasibility, characterize the sensor's performance and determine geometric parameters of the structure, which is also employed to compute the electromagnetic (EM) field distributions at the resonant wavelengths. Parameters of sensing platform are optimized to achieve the best performance of the SPR sensor. Obtained results reveal that the proposed structure can excite SPR with negative diffraction order of SWMG. Both wavelength and angular sensitivities are greatly enhanced because surface plasmon wave (SPW) exhibits a large penetration depth which will enlarge the distance of interactions between SP and analytes. The detection sensitivities and quality parameters are estimated to be 700 nm/RIU and 509°/RIU with full width at half maximum (FWHM) less than 2.5 nm using the same optimized structure.  相似文献

A high-powered tunable terahertz wave (THz-wave) has been parametrically generated via a surface-emitted THz-wave parametric oscillator (TPO) pumped by a multi-longitudinal-mode Q-switched Nd:YAG laser. The effective parametric gain length was enlarged by employing two MgO:LiNbO3 crystals. The tunable THz-wave radiation from 0.8 to 2.8 THz was realized via varying phase-matching angle between the pump wave and the Stokes wave. The maximum THz-wave radiation was 173.9 nJ/pulse at 1.7 THz as the pump energy was 82 mJ, corresponding to an energy conversion efficiency of about 2.12 × 10−6 and a photon conversion efficiency of about 0.035%. The first-order, the second-order and the third-order Stokes waves were observed during the experiments.  相似文献

Loopy belief propagation (LBP) algorithm over pairwise-connected Markov random fields (MRFs) has become widely used for low-level vision problems. However, Pairwise MRF is often insufficient to capture the statistics of natural images well, and LBP is still extremely slow for application on an MRF with large discrete label space. To solve these problems, the present study proposes a new segmentation algorithm based on adaptive LBP. The proposed algorithm utilizes local region information to construct a local region model, as well as a local interaction region MRF model for image segmentation. The adaptive LBP algorithm maximizes the global probability of the proposed MRF model, which employs two very important strategies, namely, “message self-convergence” and “adaptive label pruning”. Message self-convergence can improve the reliability of a pixel in choosing a label in local region, and label pruning can dismiss impossible labels for every pixel. Thus, the most reliable information messages transfer through the LBP algorithm. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm not only obtains more accurate segmentation results but also greater speed.  相似文献

Model of an optical system with coherent laser array source and the piston phase optimized by the stochastic parallel gradient descent algorithm is established. With this model, theory of beam propagation through the optical system in turbulent atmosphere is analyzed, and the analytical formulas of the beam average intensity along the propagation path are derived. Strehl ratio of the received beam induced by intensity disorderly distribution and power efficiency of the received beam are introduced to evaluate performance of the optical system. Under the H-V 5/7 atmospheric turbulent model, performance of an optical system with determinate parameters was calculated, and the influences of the propagation distance and the laser wavelength were numerically analyzed, respectively.  相似文献
